Bloody Weather!
Jason (my twin brother) was going to produce a diary account of his latest paragliding trip to Turkey, but bad weather has meant he has not managed to do much paragliding at all.
There has been no flying for a while- raining a lot
Here's some photos...
The SAT - Acro Paragliding DVD
Basically Arjan and I used last week to practice a bit and get current. I have done about a dozen helicopters (attempts) but not nailed them yet. I think my best effort was only three full rotations and they're still a bit sloppy.
Full stalls on Arjan's new wing (U Turn Freeforce 22) look a bit livelier than his old wing so he's been doing a few of those before moving on to inversions and helis.
As ever, the sky is alway filled with gliders so although we have a deal with the local cameraman to film us he often misses our acro just to film a boring landing by some other pilot - very frustrating especialy when you want to see how to improve.
Anyway we already have some ok footage and are lucky to have Michael Knipping staying in our hotel. He's a top acro pilot and we're hoping to get some of his stuff on film too.
Weather has been rainy on and off all week. I'm not coming here in October again. |
