Powered Paragliding Ontario Flyin 2006
Some wind, some rain, some flying...
At 4:30pm on Friday night it was already clear from the forecast that the weekend was going to include some showers and wind, but we decided to go ahead and see what the weather had to offer.
First to arrive at the Sodom Road field was Matt. He managed to take off with a broken toe!
Matt chancing his luck by taking a peek at the American border. Lucky not to get shot down!
Matt was really making good speed and was easily able to out fly me.
Once the light was gone we all landed and started making preparations to camp at Sodom Road
Dan was extremely well prepared. He had brought enough supplies to feed a small army. Within a couple of hours we had a small refugee camp set up
Not only did Dan bring tons of camping supplies, he also brought a mobile kitchen and was soon preparing dinner for us all. There are no shortcuts with Dan. The fries were chipped and fried at the field. Andre was responsible for illumination.
These fries were delicious. Thanks Dan!
Hungry faces look on as Dan removes the fries from the oil. We were soon tucking into Fajitas and fries... and the beer was soon flowing.
Jason (my brother) had given me a drunken haircut when we went to Annecy in the summer. Andre reckoned there was nothing to it, so I got my mop chopped, again.
Look at the concentration on Andre's face. A true professional at work.
Now, I'm wondering how bad the back looks. Judging by Andre's expression, it's not good, but it can't be any worse than the front (I hope).
So, that was Friday's fun. I'll post Saturday's write up in the next few days. |
