I have had several requests from interested pilots for photos or details of the foot mount system I use. I have been less than willing to share the `design` since it is embarrassingly crude (although effective). The basic idea is to create something that projects from the end of your boot and will hold a bullet camera. It has to be designed in such a way that the camera is able to get a shot of you while flying. It also needs to be at such an angle so as to clear the ground when you walk or run during launch.
My solution (detailed below)
| I agree, it is not very pretty, but it does actually work! After some persistance Nick Bubb persuaded me to make this sketch and e-mail it to him. Nick is a keen video enthusiast and pilot. He was able to take the original idea and build it into something a lot more elegant.
Nick`s improved design
I was so impressed with his work that I asked him to tell you about it himself.
Just watch Nick`s expression as he describes my velcro, coathanger and string contraption... I know that was a snigger being held back!
Here is Nick`s account of his foot camera mount...
If anyone is interested in making (or even buying) one of these, use the contact form to get in touch and we will see what we can do.
