When starting out. You're going to start out with only a hoe, a watering can, and 50 gold. If you ask Mana about growing crops, she will give you pink turnip seeds to help you get started out. However they're going to take a few days to grow, and you won't want to be broke until they DO grow. So you're gonna want to go check out the bulletin board. Where people will give you many requests, and they will reward you quite generously in some cases, as well as their FP/LP going up. Doing tasks from Max, Rosalind, and Herman will get you LOADS of money quickly.
Another good source of income is fishing. You can get the pole by completing Barrett's first request on the bulletin board. Fishing takes up very little RP. And you can fish every day, even in winter. So be sure to fish every day when you're done with all your other daily jobs.
You can get the hammer from Gordon by doing his first task. Mining can also be quite profitable.
When you have 8,400 gold of spending money. Buy Pink Melon Seeds, and sow them in the Trieste Forest. Pink Melons sell for 2500 gold a piece, and will profit you 14,100 gold each harvest. Making Pink Melon seeds the most profitable choice of income.
