There are eleven young, single women in the town whom you can choose from for a wife. The marriage requirements themselves are simple. You must:

 • Have gotten the home extention from Neuman (200,000G and 2000 pieces of lumber).
 • Have a kitchen and the big bed (both can be bought from Ivan).
 • Have a girl up to 10 love points (LP) and 10 friendship points (FP).

That's all! But actually getting married isn't so easy. Unlike previous HM games, there is no generic Blue Feather-type item that you use to propose. The proposal requirements and way you go about proposing are different for each girl, and some are harder than others.

Giving gifts is optional. Gifts do make FP increase at a faster rate, but have little or no effect on LP (Sharron and Mei are the only exceptions). Daily talking to the girl you want to marry and doing certain things are the best way to raise love points. Some girls are easy to befriend, but others are harder to win over.

Proposal Items

To marry some girls, you merely need to talk to them. But others require an item that you can get only once in the game. So if you get the item and want to marry the girl, be sure that you don't accidently throw it out or something. That will ruin your chance of marrying the girl. The special items are:

 • Lara: Lara Lazuli (a purple stone Cecilie gives to you).
 • Rosetta: White Stone (Toros dungeon, snowy winter day, read the warning note)
 • Sharron: Gurimoa Sword (defeat Gurimoa and give the scale to Leo)
 • Mei: 70-centimetre Kimekitai (fish found in the Mist Bloom boss room).

Although certain guys like certain girls, you do not have rivals for any of the girls. The other guys won't cause you any trouble, and no other couples in the town can get married (with the exception of Noiman and Sarah, but Sarah isn't available to you).

After you marry, your wife will give you some sort of food item (a "packed lunch") when you talk to her in the morning.

Five seasons (150 days) after you marry, a child will be born. There are no pregnancy or childbirth events; when you wake up in the morning, your wife will simply be holding a baby.

Tori: Name:Tori (Torute) Birthday:Winter 12 Family: Anne is her mother, and Sacher her older brother. Residence: The inn. Occupation:Librarian.

Daily schedule: Monday through Friday, Tori is in her room at the inn until 9AM, and is in the library from 9AM onward. On some days, in the evenings, she goes to the bath, or to Clemmens Peak. (Clemmens Peak is near the Clemmens cave, of course. It's where you go for the Moon Viewing festival, too.)

On Celebration days, she is at the church from 9AM to noon-ish, and at nights, she goes to the mountain peak.

To raise Love Points and Friendship Points:Talk to her, and read books (invesitgate the shelves) in the library. You can raise her FP and LP very quickly if you give her lots of cookies on the Spring Thanksgiving day. Accepting chocolate from her on the Winter Thanksgiving day will raise her LP by one. Talking to her on the Sacred Night will raise her LP by two (probably), and inviting her on a date on the Moon Viewing day will raise her LP by two. For some reason, Tori seems to take longer to win over than the other girls.

Proposal:First read the book in the library about the "Wonderful Confession" or something like that. (The "kokuhaku" book.) It tells about first taking a bath to purify yourself, then meeting the girl you love at the peak of Clemmens Mountain at 9PM on one of the Celebration days and giving her a large milk. So on a Celebration day, take a bath at the bath house, then go to the mountain peak and give Tori a bottle of large milk at 9PM.

Here's a (very rough) translation of the dialogue, or at least the meaning of the dialogue, when you propose. (The main character is "Laguna," since that seems to be the most popular way to romanize his Japanese default name.)

Tori: This place... This time... and this milk... Per-perhaps... Laguna.... Um.... uh... well... I, I.... Um...

(Option 1: "Please marry me.")

(Option 2: "Oh, this milk was just really good.")

(Choose option 1.)

Tori: I, is that OK.....? ....Me? .....Really....?

Laguna: Yes. Marry me, Tori.

Tori: ....Y, yes.... I will... take it.

Laguna: Good.

Tori: .....Um.... Will you... treasure me?

Laguna: Of course.

Tori: This is... the happiest.... I've been in.... since I was born.... I had always.... hoped that... at this time.... at this place... I'd be proposed to.... It's like a dream....

Laguna: Let's be happy together, Tori.

Tori: Yes.

From here, you go to the ceremony.

After marriage, Tori will give you fried apples every morning.
