Harvest Moon 64 is not just a farming game, but you can cook, too! It may not really aid in game progression, but it is a fun thing to pass time or you can get the recipes simply to finish the game in its entirety. To get recipes to work, you have to get them from the villagers. Give them the right gift and they will give you the corresponding recipe.
This is how you get the recipe of choice:
