| Powered Paragliding in Ellicottville | After two windy days the weather finally calmed down enough for a nice flight over gentle rolling hills. We were fortunate to bump into the farmer Don and Lynn who allowed us to launch from their field. (Video clip)
| We took off just after 4pm with a small gathering of interested onlookers. The wind was a steady breeze, which meant that a quick reverse launch was fairly straight forward. We both took off within seconds of each other and headed off downwind in the firedction of Ellicotville`s ski resort. I thought it would be best to go upwind first and Andre agreed so we set off upwind and climbed in some gentle rifge lift before continuing.
Having the crowd of onlookers I did not take my usual pre-flight pee. This combined with the world`s tiniest bladder meant that pretty soon I was desperate. After a pleasant hour`s flight we headed back to our launch field and I took a leak. We fuelled up and prepared for a second flight. I took the opportunity to set up my foot mounted camera, but it just got in the way and hampered my launch so I had to get rid of it and only filmed with the stills camera.
| The ski resort was still covered in snow (which looked strange from the air) so we investigated and flew the same route we had a couple of years ago when we came down for a flight in the summer time.
It was great to fly in a different location and also get to meet some of the friendly locals. Don and Lynn made us very welcome and I am sure we will be taking them up on their offer of future flying from some of their other fields.
