I'm guessing you already unlocked East Town. Just keep building stuff then maybe the inn keeper might move in. I forgot when I got it, I'm guessing somewhere around spring or fall year 1

I'm tying to get the first bridge, would it be smarter to pay for the materials or collect all the lumber I need?

It's easier to pay than to gather. Thats what I did and I had them all before winter year 1

I think you get one for getting to the bottom of the mine or somesuch, and you also get them as festival rewards. You can also just buy them on certain days in Winter, based on your Farmer Rating thing whatever.

Can they only be used once? What do all the colors mean?

You can swap 'em around, but they drop in rank. Though the rank doesn't actually affect the effects of the wonderfuls. As for what does what, the purple gives extra money each time you use that tool, indigo gives you more slots to insert more wonderfuls, blue increases horizontal range, red increases verticle range, green makes them take less stamina, orange gives more produce/increases water holding/lowers animal stress depending, and yellow is a general upgrade thing. Like bashing bigger stones.

Daaaang I had no idea they worked that way!

2 more questions...
1. Are there any power berrys, or things that make the stamina bar bigger?

2. How do you break the big rock in your farm that is keeping you from the rice paddy things? Like do you need 3 wonderfuls or what?
Thanks!

1. I think the only thing that makes your stamina bar bigger is jewelry from Chen's store.

2. You need 1 yellow wonderful

You have to up-grade your house once and buy the cabinet and fridge from Chen before Chen offers the kitchen for sale.

To get accessories you have to dig orchalic up on the 50th floor. You need a lot to make one accessory.

What I do is spend spring, summer, and fall and get all the herbs I can. I keep all of them in my fridge till winter that way you can go deep into the mine with out fainting.

The second bed appears in Chen's shop after second house upgrade.

Thanks, but I need that orichalc now lolz, I don't think you need that many herbs to make it to level 50. I almost made it with like 12 herbs and rice cakes. I'll just gather some for like a week(in game)and retry to make it down.
