What were your happy memories or nightmares playing this game? Or if your still playing it what do you like and not like about this game.

Well for starters...

I love

the pig

(oh crud its been almost a minute and can't think of anything else I liked about this game)

I hated

the sensitive villagers. How dare you leave because I neglected talking to you. I can't always be the center of your world people.

the blowfish and I guess this is a personal issue but cooking it to get like 20 more pieces of gold was painful. Another memory I had was..

Slow cooking. Couldn't cook the same item at a time and had to cook it one by one. (maybe I was just dumb back then)

Freaking small plots of land and then buying more land and having everything faraway.

I'm more neutral now but I also hated the art style.

Now its your turn. -_O

I really liked:
-The ease of just making new save files. It's just one of those Harvest Moon games that you can pick up and start a new save, and it not be a big deal. Find it really nice to get in the flow of.
-The semi "customizability" that the game had. I always like laying out rooms, and having the freedom of deciding what buildings I wanted where and all that jazz was fun too.
-I found the mine a mix of fun and frustrating. I liked the possibility of skipping floors, but there were times I'd hit a chain of cracks that sent me up instead of down and it'd be a huge loss of progress.
-Buying land plots was nice too.

What I didn't like:
-The art style wasn't my favorite, but I grew to some what like it. Just wish it could have been a different style.
-The characters, while I did like the design of some of them, were boring after a while. Didn't feel like there was too much depth to them really.

I might be forgetting some things, but that about sums up my experience with the game I believe.

What I liked:

Classic characters, many of which hadn't been around for a long time. Others even got a proper name for the first time.

Land-buying and other minor customization.

Able to befriend just about any animal.

What I didn't like:

Everyone's dumb little greetings. Amusing at first, ANNOYING later. Harvest Moon is my kind of thing to sit down and enjoy for a long time, but those voices made it impossible because I'd find them grating before I got nice and settled in.

Character personalities being shuffled around. This is also the reason I like the Mineral Town games less. Why is SNES Maria tending a library? Her thing is church and spirituality.

Slow, plodding movement. My inability to get settled while playing the game made the fact that you move fairly slowly around town even more annoying.

There's no space to fit my huge nice house anywhere, and I don't like spreading my farm across the town.

I don't like people leaving if you don't ship what they use and all. Lyla always left my town.
And festivals not running if you didn't ship something either. Sometimes I know I would nearly forget. It's not really fun and I don't want to miss out on anything.

And I agree with Darth, the actual movement is a little slow despite overall gameplay being speedy - unlike AWL.

Liked:

- I like all the different bachelor/ettes to choose from, even if most of them I'm not interested in.

- Even though I didn't pay attention to him much, I like having a rival farmer in the town (and now Connect to a New World has four of them, two you can marry?!? :0 ).

- I really liked having all that land in the game. I would get one for my house, a second for the barn, and then plant all my crops and squat trees on the general space next to my barn. I eventually have crops and fruit, and the townspeople cheer at me for "beautifying the land."

- The mining was pretty cool, but I'm comparing that to what I remember from Tranquility/Animal Parade and New Beginning's wall banging.

Disliked:

- The art style and the jellybean people and their noodle legs and giant butts and big heads. Not that I'm saying I wanted it to be like AWL, but I don't like it when everyone looks like little kids.

- I'm sad your child grows up only to be that blue mouse-ear thing.

- The pig and dog do nothing at all except get in the way of your spouse in the morning. In addition to that, I don't like how everyone just blindly walks into stuff. I'm looking at YOU, JOE, WITH YOUR WALKING INTO MY DOOR CONSTANTLY.

- Gray => Blue ; Cliff with fish => Ray !?

- They wouldn't let me put my bed on the second floor of the house. >:[

- This isn't really about the game itself, but I had a file at fifty or close to eighty notes........... and then I saved over it by accident. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-kraken.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/emot-kraken.gif)
