"Discussion" is a little general. I honestly have no idea where to start. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)
Uh.... Well... I think I've mentioned my love of Luts and Delfs in general before, but.... at this point, I'm honestly not sure whether the way Luts has gone with the Delf line is the best. I've been ogling Delf dolls since about 2005/2006. I originally liked them because of their large eyes and elfish features, though my favorite doll is Soony, who is "human" style rather than elf/vampire. In recent years (since Cerberus Project stopped sculpting for them) though, they've made dolls that are primarily human, which tends to stray from the whole "elf doll" thing that Delfs were supposed to be in the first place. I don't dislike the newer sculpts, but there was something about the original Delf line that had a bit more personality. That said, I do like the "Untold Story" limited edition dolls that they've been releasing for the last few years a lot. They've put a lot of work into all of the extras and some of the ###### they've come up with (Like Bory's wings and Regen's ridiculous armor) is especially stunning. Things like that make me wish I had the money to sink into this hobby. On another topic, I find that I'm far more partial to female dolls than male dolls. I dunno. I look at most of the male dolls and think they look like cold, arrogant bastards. I want my dolls to have warmer expressions and look more open. :/ |

I do love me a Delf. I do, I do.
I generally love Luts and Fairyland, there are a few sculpts that I'd want, but all of them are older and unavailable, it SUCKS. (These are not my own, these are the examples of the ones I want.) (IMG:http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/mm112/chiharu-nakayama/derp.png) |

LOL! I could, but some of them are headless/bodyless at the moment. I will however start to compile a photo list of all my dolls on my first post.
EDIT: I posted a list, obviously not all of it is filled out yet, but as I take and find some older pics I will edit the list, sorry for the page stretching. |

Well. I just paid for Lolly entirely on my own. The only reason I was able to go through with it at all is the fact that if I come to regret it later on down the road, chances are good I can get back what I spent on her.
I've had a name and a backstory planned out for her for a while, but describing it on its own sounds silly since it's part of an RPG-style fantasy world I created a long while back. |

My bank account is crying tears of mortal pain. Just saying.
But, now that my order's been confirmed and all, it'll be a little over a month before I get her. One thing that's odd for me is that, despite the fact that I love that doll, the one I've done the most planning for is the very first doll I ever fell head-over-heels in love with - Soony. Perhaps because she's a limited edition doll, I don't really intend to customize Lolly much outside of getting some extra outfits, but with Soony I have a whole bunch of custom work I want done. In the end, she'll likely cost me the most out of anything I've ever purchased just because of everything that I want done/made. Oh, also.... is there anything in particular that you'd recommend me picking up in preparation for having a BJD? (You know... like a doll hairbrush or other necessary tools.) |

I'm excited for you, sad for your bank, but excited. (My bank also feel's for you.) I know what you mean about wanting to keep her the same since she's a limited edition doll. I have very rarely ordered a LE doll that I have ordered with faceup and full set, because usually I know I won't like the doll's default.. let me think... My very first doll my DragonDoll Emporer Huang Di, I ordered him with faceup and fullset outfit, though he was not a LE. I do still keep him in his LE outfit because it suits his personality, but his faceup chipped away within a week of getting him (sad!) I made a temporary fix and I will be getting his faceup redone sometime. the thing is though, even when he had his default, he didn't look like much of the same doll, which was sad for me because I fell head over heels for the doll in the photo who was very regal and kind and well... Imperial. My boy still does look like the Emperor he is, but he is more quirky, whimsy and flirty then anything.
Most of my dolls are rehomed, I bought them from people who wanted to clean out their collections or something, which is hoe I have most of my LEs. The only LE that I have that has his default is SOOM Shoshon, it looks nice, but I'll probably have a better one put on eventually. I'm not saying it will happen to you, but don't be surprised if you end up wanting to change the faceup eventually. As for things to buy.. Hmm.. To be honest I never had a need for a doll brush, however a soft bristled or soft padded human brush is fine, like those pocket sized ones that have the rubber beneath plastic bristles. Some people like doll stands, I have one, I like it alot and wish I had more. Buy a Mr. Clean magic erased incase she comes with scuff marks or incase she gets something on her. I'm not sure if you are going to order a whole butt load of eyes and wigs, but definitely have either small ziplocs or wignets for your wigs, and something you can keep your eyes in safely. Most people who have LOTS of eyes buy those little drawer cabnets you use for nails and screws, if you get some with bigger drawers you can always keep the wigs and clothes in there too (IMG:http://www.bluebuddhaboutique.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Screen-shot-2011-09-19-at-2.52.12-PM.png) EDIT: I changed my dolls list to Alphabetical by Company. once you see the company they are by when I received them and on another note, Mizuki. I was wrong, I do have another LE doll who I kept his LE faceup, my IMPLdoll Eugene has default faceup, along with my rainbow IMPLdoll tinies, Pinky, Simon and Jasper. |

There's meant to be a sort of doll show nearby on the 21-24th of June. It's going to be basically lots of tables with them for you to look and buy, by random people rather than big companies. It's probably going to be of baby dolls rather than jointed ones, but paying $5 each for me and mom to get in's not going to hurt much.
I just hope I can remember to go. d: |

That sounds fun! I've never been to a place for just dolls, the only thing remotely close is that at CCEE this year there was a dolls and actions figure table that was selling two vinyl BJD.

Mom's given me a half definite answer that I'll be getting a doll now. :3 Now I have to decide on if I want ResinSoul Mei or the Obitsu 11cm. I'm actually really surprised that she finally agreed that I could get the ResinSoul one, it's about $150 dollars.

I'm biased and would say the RS Mei. They're great starter dolls, and they're actually resin and not plastic cast.
and if your mom's saying she'll buy the more expensive one... go for it. |
