In all these categories you must pick one and only one choice for your absolute favorite. No cheating or honorable mentions allowed, if you're torn and it feels like you're choosing between children then suck it up and do it

{Rofl... Choosing between the children, why did that make me laugh?}
Movie: Omg... I'll go with Inception currently since it was the most original story in years, made you think yet still had action {omg and Tom Hardy} and was just awesome. And this does feel like choosing between my children. Band/Musician: Gaaaaah! I'll go with the Beatles since they're the only band I haven't gotten sick of over the years unlike past favourites, and I don't see myself getting bored of them. Album: Hmm... I'll say the White Album by The Beatles only because it has a song for everyone on it or whatever mood you're in. Song: Of all time... Um, I guess The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill by The Beatles, only because it's fun and catchy but I can think of a million other songs that could also be major favourites. Television Show: Dexter. Quirky, great acting, every episode keeps you excited and you never feel like "I'm sure it'll pick up soon etc etc" and of course it's got puuuurrrty Michael C Hall in it so that never hurts. Video Game: I guess Mario Galaxy. Good graphics, original and fun. Book: Okay, as a book that isn't part of a series I'll choose "The Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters" because of the style it's written {letters from only one character, you don't see the replies but even without those you still can tell what the other characters replied back saying}, it's about two sisters, one unmarried and more of a career woman and her younger sister who got married very young wants kids but then is diagnosed with cancer and becomes extremely sick. And my aunt who now has cancer was actually the one who gave me this book so it has some extra meaning to it, but it's still an amazing book and would reccomend it to anyone. Now I'm going to keep thinking of all myother favourites and wish I had picked other things lol. |

Didn't anyone else read that you were supposed to only post one for each topic?

Movie: Oldboy. Korean film by Park Chan-wook, this was a three way tie but Oldboy got the edge simply because it was the last one I rewatched. Very stylishly directed with a lot of memorable scenes and an overall great story that always keeps you guessing and wanting more - pretty darn good soundtrack to boot.
Band/Musician: The Beatles. Zero points for originality here, I've noticed a lot more fans since autumn of last year following the hype of the Beatles rock band and it's great to see another generation get into their music, there are very very few songs by them I don't like. Album: In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel. Kind of associated with being a "hipster" these days but I don't care, amazing tracks throughout and a slight nostalgia factor too Song: New Slang by The Shins. Can't really elaborate much on this one. I just really like it Television Show: The Wire. So much more than your typical cops vs gangsters/good guys vs bad guys television show, it examines both sides of the drug war in Baltimore and It's very insightful and incredibly written with a lot of attention to detail, there are many characters it's a wonder the writers manage to develop them all and show their many layers but they pull it off and make it easily in my opinion the greatest tv show ever. I almost love everything about this show, I even have every season's opening theme and the ending theme on my ipod. It's amazing to look back and remember I actually didn't like the first few episodes but stick with it and you'll be rewarded. Video Game: Suikoden 2. I've made no secret of how much I love this game and even pay tribute to it in my internet handle, great cast of characters the best storyline in a video game I've played. The word "epic" is thrown around way too much (and way too annoyingly) these days but this game is just epic Book: Hungry Hungry Caterpillar. I'm not much of a reader |

Movie: Top Gun. I loved it, simple enough.
Band/Musician: Led Zeppelin. Best band ever, did so many different styles. I love other bands, but Led Zeppelin is too good. Album: House of the Holy. Varity of songs, awesome. Song: Stairway to Heaven...obviously. Television Show: That 70's Show. Was really funny for the times I've seen it. Video Game: Earthbound. If you've played it, you know. Book: A Seperate Peace. I have no idea why I liked it so much. |

Movie: Uh... never really had a movie that I could call my favorite. I still don't really, so... PASS
Band:Argh... I'm torn between ACDC and Queen. Queen I guess. Album:Don't really have a favorite here either =/ Song: Bohemian Rhapsody. I get a tear in my eye every time I listen to it. And I love how it flows from different styles. Show: Oh, this is easy. My Name is Earl. Freaking Hilarious. There aren't that many shows anymore that can make me laugh consistently every time I watch them, but this show is one of 'em. Crying shame it was discontinued (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalacry.gif) . Video Game: If I had to choose, it would be Super Mario All Stars for the Super Nintendo. I have some great memories of playing that with my grandma when I was little. Just in case this doesn't count (seeing as it's 4 games in 1) I like Mario 3 most. This one was a tough decision cause it only beats several of my other favorites due to nostalgia and my childhood memories. Guess who's excited for Mario All Stars Limited Edition to come out in the US (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalagrin.gif) . Book: I'll be honest, I don't read that many books. But my favorite that I have read is probably Sun Tzu's The Art of War. It's pretty cool because, although his lessons were about how to win a war (mainly how to win without ever fighting) the principles can be applied to modern day situations. |

Let me give this a try...
Movie: Mean Girls. It's hilarious, it has a sappy but feel-good ending, and even though "blondes are stupid/evil" is used mercilessly, the whole affair just cracks me up. Band/Musician: Ayumi Hamasaki. I don't dislike ANY of her albums. (Well... we're not counting NOTHING FROM NOTHING here, are we?) I'm not as into some as I am others, but I feel every one I've bought has been money well spent. Album: I'm gonna skip because it changes constantly. Song: Baba O'Riley by The Who. It's perfect, start-to-finish. Television Show: Friendship Is Magic. It just puts me in a good mood. Video Game: Super Mario RPG. darn, this game is fun, and so cozy. Book: This one seems a bit unfair of me to rate since I really don't read at all (just the Harry Potter series), but Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I'll be the lone dissident who actually thought the camping scenes were beneficial because they built the tension up. |
