Hey yall,
I was thinking about this last week and I have really wanted to make this. Now your probably saying "isnt this just "the bar" but only sports. Well sorta, I just like the idea of getting on and seeing the sports bar and coming in here and just talking about sports with people rather than daily goings. It doesnt matter what sport it is I will still talk about it. Id though I would start it this week becuase its nearing the Super Bowl 45 and it may bring up alot of conversation. So tell me what yall think of this? |

So, what about them Steelers? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)
THE STEELERS ARE GOING TO CRUSH GREEN BAY. Okay, so, if you hadn't guessed, I'm rooting for the Steelers. They're the 'home team' and well, I just like them. Especially the amazing Troy Polamalu. -awaits being blasted by Packers fans- |

The packers have aron rodgers and a good wide reciver line up but people underestimate the power of the Steelers D! Let go Steelers!!! sucks they passed Dallas in the super bowl records though. :( |

Bleeeeeh.
I can't stand watching sports on tv, and ESPECIALLY football, it's so slow and I'm not into it, really, no offense to those who do enjoy it. When I do watch sports, it's live and I like watching baseball but I grew up playing that, but atleast it doesn't go on for like over 4 hours and you don't have to keep stopping the game cause someone dropped the ball. /endpointlesspost |

I used to feel the same about football.
When its in the playoffs or its th Cowboys I love watching it. But my favorite sport is hockey..is fast paces..theres hitting, theres alot of goals some nights and others its really intense so its not like soccer where its 1 goal and the games ovr lol. And its such a fun sports to play and watch. I like baseball too but thats a newer sport I got into last year when the Texas Rangers started there great season to the World Series. |

I always confuse myself with football and soccer, I maybe Canadian but since I watch far too much British tv/movies when I'm having normal conversations with other Canadians, I'll say football when I'm meaning soccer, and they get confused with me haha. And I rarely ever realize that I called it football, although why the American football is called football will never make sense.
It's just like soft ball, it's definitely not any softer than a hard ball, bigger and more likely to hit you lol. I maybe Canadian but I've never enjoyed hockey, the reason you like it {the fights} is a reason I dislike it, I don't see the need in beating eachother up just because you're playing a sport. You don't see cashiers beating up annoying coworkers lol. Too much testosterone all together at once. I've grown up with baseball, I rarely pay attention to who makes it into the playoffs or world series, it always ends up being the Yankees which GETS BORING. I'd rather watch the 10 year olds play at our local diamond and listen to the annoying fathers yell at the umps haha. |

I actually dislike fights in hockey..I said theres hittin as in *checkin* which is when they hit each other agianst the boards and such.
Fighting is uncalled for half the time and I just want to get back tothe game. Im american and I think its funny we call it football as well. It makes much more since to call soccer football but I guess whoever came up with the names didnt think about it. |

Yes, I know what checking is, just because I don't watch it doesn't mean I don't know some of the terms lol. And you did say you liked the hitting, so don't see much a difference between the fights and them shoving eachother into the boards.
Well, it was obviously an American thing to start calling it football, and how could they not think of it? It has nothing to do with feet besides the fact that they have to use them to walk and run, it was probably some stupid confusion that ended up having it called this now for decades. |

Exept checking is just big hits aginst each ther and it makes the game fun.
fighting on he other had are two players who try and pump up the team but stopping the game and holding each other for 2 min. Theres a big diffrence. Anyway, what baseball team do you like? |

Ah. The Steelers are my fave, but Dallas is my second. I was like "Steeler vs. Packers in COWBOY STADIUM. This couldn't be more perfect."
You see, I have a major rivalry with an old member over the Packers. He loves them. I love the Steelers, so it's going to be fun. (Unless I lose, in which case, I'll never live it down. >_>) EDIT: I <3 baseball. It's my favorite sport. I like the Yankees. Take that, Toaster Boy *shot*. |

Yup. I love the Yankees. I even have this pink version of the 'canon' Yankees cap. (You know, blue stripes) It's the only ball cap I'll wear (of course it's because I don't look great in them).
Haha, I love how only girls have posted in the SPORTS BAR. What the...? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) |

Not a Yankees fan at all. They has too much money, can buy almost any player they want (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) . I'ma Reds fan. Sadly, I'm also their curse. The last time they won a World Series was October 20, 1990. I was born October 21 1990. They haven't won a world series since (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasad.gif) .
Anyway, I'm going to a Super Bowl party at my step-mom's dad's house, which will be fun. I live near the Cincinnati area, and the Cincinnati Bengals hate the Steelers' guts, so needless to say it'll be fun celebrating a Steelers victory in front of all the Bengals fans (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaevil.gif) . Can't wait to show off my victory robot dance. Anyone else have any big plans for the Super Bowl? Edit: Oh yea, I'ma dude too |

Football/Football arguments are complicated when your family is American and you live in England.
Anyway I'm a fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, Celtics and Chelsea FC (I used to live like five minutes away from their stadium) Aw Chicken, for Red Sox fans "pink caps" is a derogatory term used for women who know absolutely nothing about baseball and just turn up the games because the Red Sox are now a good team and it's trendy. They usually wear Jacoby Ellsbury jerseys "because he's hot" |

I'm a fan of the Jets, Mets, Knicks, and Rangers.
Still sore about that AFC Championship loss. :| But the Steelers are getting the snot knocked out of them in the Superbowl. Aaron Rodgers will light them up. The Packers D is way underrated, and the Steelers is overrated. We got outplayed in the first half so badly and still almost came back. Can't do that to the explosive offense of the Packers. Mets, well. Don't have any expectations. A playoff berth would be out of this world. Yankees can shove it, the over payed steroid users. Knicks are getting somewhere! Happy about that. Rangers, haven't followed lately. And I don't care about Soccer really. |
