I always end up getting male Pokemon. My whole party so far is of male Pokemon in Black. The Zoruark I just yesterday from a wireless thingo.... ENDED UP BEING MALE. OF COURSE. Although I think it would be weird if I started to get female Pokemon all of a sudden.
From memory, with the main Pokemon of my party in past games, only Ninetales and Charizard have been female.

Which ones to you tend to get? Or does it seem evenly distributed? UNLIKE MINE.

I usually try to mix it up a bit. I would say it balances out.

I really don't care what their genders are unless there's some difference. Generally though, it seems a lot of my Pokemon end up female.

Usually when I play through, I try to get female pokemon - especially if they're 75-87.5% male. I enjoy breeding pokemon with exclusive egg moves, so females are a necessity.

Unless I have a certain nickname planned or if the gender just seems wrong (eg female Machop), I tend to catch whatever happens to cross my path. So my Pokemon tend to be mixed pretty evenly.

I get whatever gender; I'm not sexist! Though I do tend to put the female Pokemon in a pink colored box. Hey, I figure it must make them feel comfortable. I try not to train them. I mean, female Pokemon could get hurt and they certainly can't take that. D;

My female Umbreon and Togekiss against a full team of your best males. If I win you have to eat your words and only use females from now on.

With mine it depends on whether I want to give a specific name or whether if I want to breed something with exclusive moves, in which case I usually need a female. It took me about 40 tries to hatch a female Togapi -_-

I'm not too picky about the gender, but then I breed and trade so I keep a good variety on hand (as well as a few ditto).

You know, it's funny. I rarely use ditto at all unless I'm trying to breed a pokemon that's 100% male. Egg move combinations (Like that one really awesome time where I bred a batch of Chimchars with Counter and Eevees with Yawn) are pretty much the only reason I breed.

That's funny. I seem to remember somebody going . . . "But I only want males!" before the release of B/W. Gee, who was that?

I use Ditto for everything. I'm too lazy to mess with egg groups. =/

I just look up the egg move I want and what parent'll give it on serebii and go from that. *shrugs* The only time it's ever been even the slightest hassle is when I was breeding Charmy a Cubone with Perish Song in B/W, and the only reason it was a problem then is because my Lapras was on my Pearl version and I was having difficulty finding my brother's DS to use to move it up.

I don't really see any point in breeding if I'm not utilizing egg groups. I generally already have the pokemon in question, so it's not like I need more of them, and I couldn't give two shits about IVs.

I use it to get Pokemon I want at lower levels, or to get a certain gender.
I'm too lazy and non-competitve to mess with egg moves.

You are on! And I'll make the match fast, because I know the females can't really stress themselves for too long.
But you are talking about Black/White, right?

You didn't pick names until the last second! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

I've actually gone with the opposite gender even when I have names picked out in advance. For example, I had a name picked out for a male Growlithe, but I ran into a female. Since female Growlithe aren't common, I said, "Why not?" and caught her anyway coming up with a new name on the spot. I actually did the same thing with Vulpix (though it was male instead of female).

So now I have Kiche the female Growlithe and Mugentsu the male Vulpix. =3

Just about every name I come up with is on the spot. It's a heckuvalot more fun that way.

I choose not to name my pokemon...aside from the ones named after RS people (and former RS people). this way, I can say "I choose you, Hasfusel!"
