MAJOR EDIT:

I'm sorry, but after researching the way the wii encrypts save files, I have come to the realization, that without having a modded wii, this can't be done. and since modding a wii, or any game system for that matter, is considered illegal, I won't even touch it.

however, for those afraid of getting this glitch either for the first time or again, I did develop a small method for you to have a backup.

method 1:

1: first, pick a time.
a: before you get married.
b: after you get married, but before you upgrade your house beyond the minimum for marriage.
c: before your spouse asks for kids.

2: after picking your time, either copy your save file to an SD card, or make a copy of your own file.

3: now, either keep playing and deny getting the kids, and have a wife and huge house, or, just keep the house big enough for you and your wife, or don't get married at all. I don't think it's required for the final bell, but even if it is, everything is open and there's no loss anyway. besides, the kids are only required for new game plus IIRC.

method 2:

1: first, pick a time.
a: before you get married.
b: after you get married, but before you upgrade your house beyond the minimum for marriage.
c: before your spouse asks for kids.

2: after picking your time, either copy your save file to an SD card, or make a copy of your own file.

3: keep playing, get the kids, and should you be hit by the glitch, you at least have a backup save file, so you don't have to start completely from scratch!

method 3: (read this on another site)

1: max out your tools, and build one heck of a farm. enjoy the game, and make sure you're ready for new game plus.

2: make sure the harvest king is ready to go for the new game plus events, but don't start them yet.

3: the kids should temporarily return on childs day, until you save and quit again. once they do, begin the new game plus events, and start the new game plus before you turn your game off.

4: you now have a fresh start, with maxed out tools, and anything else that coppies over with a new game plus, so you can try again, but with less work!

method 4:

1: marry the witch or the wizard.

2: be prepared to lose your kids, that way if you do, it's less of a blow.

3: get everyone else married to your rivals, so they can have kids at least.

I know it's not a fix, but under the circumstances, it's the best I can do. I hope it's helpful.

I was playing Animal Parade recently and may have discovered a potential fix/reason for this glitch. I don't have multiple save files where I've married different people, so I can't say for sure, but this seemed to work for me. So, I'm married to the Wizard and have a daughter, with another child on the way. I recently decided I'd rather listen to something other than the game music while playing, so for a while I had my TV muted, but then I discovered I could turn the music volume down in the options menu, so I did that instead. I played through a day and everything was fine, I saved before going to bed as usual, and stopped playing for the day. When I started playing again the next day, I went to bed, and in the morning my child was gone! So I reset and loaded the same save file. She was there at night, but after going to the next day, she poofed, with her location being something like "None Area Name". So I went online, and found someone who had posted about a similar experience, and they said that when they turned the music back up, the child re-appeared every time. So I tried it out, and sure enough she didn't disappear this time.

I don't know if this is the same glitch that has been affecting everyone, but I thought it was worth a mention. Couldn't hurt to try it out?

That sound crazy maybe the lack of music spirits children away?
