So I watched this last night, and before watching it I couldn't understand the complete obsession with Andrew Garfield and Jesse Eisenberg, until well, now. Now I'm just as obsessed. -.-
This movie was amazing, even though I don't go on Facebook anymore, this was done so well and of course laughing at the really dorky obscure jokes/references to stuff that made me feel "special" cause no one else I was watching it with understood why I kept laughing. /geek Has anyone else watched this and what did you guys think about it? Even though the real Mark Zuckerberg {ugh, please tell me I spelt his name right} is kind of douchey I did kind of understand his character and felt sorry for him a bit {minus the fact that he's a billionaire now}, because whatever level of awkward you may be, you can relate to him even though he's like 100x worse than most people are. It was also sad seeing what he did to the people who were there for him, not people who showed up along the way just because they saw that this could make them tons of money, and how he ruined basically every relationship he had with anyone for really, no reason at all besides kind of keeping the website almost completely to himself {like the ownership}, it's not like his best and only friend did anything ever to hurt Mark, yet he completely scewed him while he was away trying to get people to give them money to keep it running. And omg, Justin Timberlake as the founder of Napster, I remmeber hearing about this guy when Napster was closed down and afterwards hearing about him getting introuble {like in the movie, underage girls and drugs yet he really never did any}, and how ANNOYING this character was omg. And it didn't help that he was being played by Justin Timberlake, who I dislike {always comes across that he knows he's hot, which is a turn off}. But I really don't have a lot of words to describe this movie because I liked it so much, finally a movie that was done well, written well even though it's a true story, I didn't feel in the end that there were any scenes that could've not been used. You should watch this movie, unless you're the kind of person who only watches movies to see action, this has action if you consider how cruel Mark is to other people action lol. |

Aaa! I loved this movie, too! I've been trying to get friends to watch it and they're all "it looks boring." =/
Well, it was not a boring movie. It was awesome. I had a great time watching it. I like the...style of it. It's hard to explain what I like exactly lolz. Yeah, Sean Parker was really annoying, but that was his thing. Eduardo hated him, haha. But I actually looked up the movie afterwards and a lot of parts are rumors or fake. Like, the reason Mark actually made Facebook was just for fun and not because of some girl. I believe, the girl in the beginning doesn't even exist in real life. And something about Mark not really screwing Eduardo in the end, supposedly Eduardo did something pretty bad to Mark, too. |

I know what you mean, this movie is hard to describe exactly why you like it. I think just everything is perfect about it, there wasn't anything done wrong in it so I really can't even think of anything to say bad about it.
And yes, the way it was filmed was very nice, almost kind of dark, but it added to the style, and they obviously had quite the budget I think because they even played a real {I mean, not a cover} Beatles song at the end {which I thought was perfect for the ending}, when usually in movies they can't afford the rights to a Beatles song and distribute it. Yeah, I figured that. Considering it was based off a book that was really only the perspective of the guys who hated him in the end, of course it would make Mark look horrible and the other guys look better. I wonder how different it would've been if they had gotten Mark's side aswell, and how he saw it. I heard him say that aswell, and he's had a long term girlfriend who I think he mentioned being with during Harvard so why would he continue to be like "well at least you have a girlfriend." Omg, speaking of that scene, that asian girl... HAH! I love how Eduardo says "She's crazy, she scares me." And Mark is like, sooo...? And then he goes back and she shows up and says "Didn't you get my 47 text messages? WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU WERE BACK HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN BACK FOR!?!?" And then sets the garbage can on fire, talk about obsessive.... Lol, and another favourite scene earlier in the movie is when Mark goes to find Eduardo and he's at the Jewish fraternity's Caribbean night, and Mark starts to leave cause he can't stand seeing a picture of Niagra Falls that has nothing to do with the Caribbean. And like there's 30 people there, maaaybe, and again, a couple of Asian girls. And did you know that the guys who played the twins aren't actually twins or even related? They chose two actors then kind of morphed the one guys face afterwards to make him look like the other guy. Which I wouldn't have even noticed that if I hadn't have seen an interview with them when it came out, you can't even tell, like usually when that kind of thing is done you can tell it was done with a computer but that was done flawless. |

Oh, they were able to afford the Beatles? Didn't even notice, but yeah, does look like they had a good budget.
Wait, so Eduardo was the one that wrote that book? I've seen it at bookstores, but I haven't even paid attention to the author. It would make sense why he made himself look good. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Also, the real Mark said that they did an awesome job with the wardrobe, haha. He said he wore all those type of clothes. Yeah!! The Brenda Song girl!! Yeah, that part was hilarious! It's one of the more memorable ones. She really was crazy. And I think after Eduardo puts out the fire, he gets a call from Mark telling him about something important...I believe it was when Facebook got a million hits or something? My memory sucks.... But then the Asian girl hears this and gets all happy and starts talking to him since he has become even more successful. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Yeah, I remember that Caribbean party. Jesse Eisenberg makes all his scenes great. I heard something about them not being twins. But I didn't know that much. But yeah, they did it flawlessly, I didn't notice anything out of place. I also like the scene where the twins are competing in the olympics. |

No, Eduardo didn't write the book, but him and the other guys who sued Mark were the ones who the writer got the information from, he never talked to Mark to hear his side, so it was the POV of the other guys.
That scene with the Asian girl, he's already on the phone with Mark and Mark is yelling at him for cutting the money so they can't use that bank accoutn he set up for them to help pay for the site, and yet Eduardo has the phone down grabbing the fire extinguisher and just keeps yelling, "YEAH, I KNOW" puts the fire out, and picks up the phone again, the millionth member hadn't happened yet, I think that was just after that when they had offices and they brought Eduardo in screwing him into signing papers that made it so they could take away his shares. Yeah, that was probably one of my favourite scenes actually, even though it doesn't have any dialogue and it's just them rowing against another team it's so great. The song especially was perfect for that and of course, the guys who say "We're olympian racers, we know the importance of getting there first." don't finish the race first, which was exactly what was happening to them lol. Oh, and the Beatles song at the end is "Baby You're a Rich Man" and it's at the end when he starts refreshing the page after that lawyer leaves the room, and if you look at the lyrics it couldn't have been a more perfect song for that movie lol. And my favourite quote I just thought about was when Mark is with, I think the twins lawyers and the lawyer is all "the Vinklevosses blahblahbalh" and Mark turns around and goes, "The VinkleVI" lol, and when he starts talkign to him about how he only has him minimal amount of attention, ugh, great. I'm surprised no one else on here has watched this movie. |

Ahh, okay. Yeah, you gotta always make sure to get the story from the other side.
Yes! That was it. Something about the bank. The song was a perfect choice, it's what really made the scene awesome. Now I need to go see it again. >.> I looked up the actual pictures from that event. I will also look up those lyrics. Yeah, that scene was pretty good, too. He was sticking it to the man! Haha. He also mentions that it's raining outside just randomly. I like the twins' last name. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I KNOW! I would've definitely thought people on here would have seen this movie. I hope they'll read this and be all "Hmm, maybe I should go see this movie." We can only hope.... |

Lol, I hope so. Yet two other websites I frequent everyone is obsessed with this movie and can't stop talking about it, I guess it's two different crowds, this one is less film orientated lol.
Ah, yes, I want to watch this again now, it definitely needs a second viewing to capture all the amazingness. |

I think the director of this movie knew that making Justin Timberlake as the character for Napster's creator was going to make people wince. He did such a wonderful job of playing a complete prick. Well yeah, obviously a lot of the times they won't cast actors who are known as being very nice and always play the nice guy, but there are a ton of people who really like Justin, and he is charming and seems nice, I just personally don't like him.
I still want to laugh at the scene when he says he can't do the drugs cause he has allergies and they take out his EPI pen lol. He just liked underage girls that's all XP |
