Twin Villages is a great game. It's rather different from Welcome to the Wind Bazaar, to be honest. The character sprites are still done using the same method seen in both Wind Bazaar and Island of Happiness, but the environments are more expansive and detailed. In terms of that, it's much like the difference between Tree of Tranquility and Animal Parade. You can't get all the way to the other side of the mountain in a few short game minutes. (Which is really nice.)
Twin Villages also has a plot which involves competing in monthly cooking contests to incite friendship between the two mayors. By raising the friendship between the two villages you help clear out the rocks and other debris closing off the mine route through the mountain to the other village. It's cheesy and stupid, but hey, it's a Harvest Moon game. What did you expect? Gameplay-wise, it's somewhat similar to Wind Bazaar. The game retains the jump feature included in Wind Bazaar, and farming is similar to how it was in previous games, but it also adds new features - like being able to fish with your bare hands. Depending on what village you live in, the amount of crops or livestock you can raise is limited, but neither village cuts you off from them completely. Personally, I believe it's as good as, if not better than Wind Bazaar. Wind Bazaar was fun, but it didn't really have anything to do and by the end of the day you were running around in circles or jumping into the river to pass time. Twin Villages on the other hand, has plenty to do outside of the plot and should keep you busy until sunset. |

There's also different outfits, dating spots (kind of like Rune Factory 3), and each bachelor(ette) has favorite and least favorite places to go on a date and favorite outfit (your outfits).
There's also new animals, like different types of horses, alpacas (think wooly llama), and owls. There might be new crops too! (I'm not completely sure). I suggest preordering it soon if you want the plushie (Alpaca!). I just put in my preorder today. |
