So, since the idea is getting traction, I decided to make a post about it.

The rules:
1) You must be willing to post videos of yourself singing.
2) You must be fair and subjective. No flaming.
3) Do not Rickroll - if you have to ask, look it up.
4) You may use background music, but you must be the singer. Lip singers need not apply.
5) There will be themes for submission - deadlines will be determined later.

any questions or suggestions? Please post if you want to participate. We will also need judges that will be impartial (number of Judges to be determined, but my guess is 3 total).

Does it have to be a video? Because I have no webcam and no means to videotape myself. (Well... I do have a camcorder, but I don't have any way to transfer a VHS to a computer.) I do, however, have a mic I can use to record my voice.

I'm not opposed to there being no video, but there needs to be a way to ensure that the person singing is you. I'm trying to weed out ringers.

Maybe for those that don't/can't post videos, they can like say a couple of words at the beginning of their song to prove they're actually singing...? D:

Oh, please do not use auto tune - even for comical effect. This also means no Talk like T-Pain app.
I'm not sure about youtube since many people don't have cameras (me too).

Well, we could post the audio/video file as an attachment in posts here? Or upload the videos to a place like photobucket or (if the person posting is comfortable with such a thing) facebook?
