My sample:
Do you eat as bad as most Americans do today? The world we live in is filled with food, or factory products rather, that will kill you in the long run. The average American intakes nearly 4,000-5000 milligrams of sodium daily; the recommended value is a measly 500 as a bare minimum. Many diseases and health complications are linked from poor dieting, including death in some cases. Processed foods are becoming increasingly popular, as well as the extreme lack of minerals present in them. But hey, it tastes good and you should eat it; who cares about science?

Saffy's sample:
"An unhealthy nation" is perceived as an unhealthy nation. We eat too much sodium; we lack nutrition; we're all on the diabetes train to our early graves. The media is overly critical: we only hear the bad. Truth is, many individuals strive to eat well, exercise often, and maintain positive lifestyles. Focusing on the bad is like avoiding fruits and vegetables: unhealthy.

The purpose of this topic is to write a micro essay. You make an argument in one paragraph, no more than 100 words, for the sake of writing. The challenge is making it concise and well-written.

Yeah, we were trying to think of some topics, but couldn't actually. Um, you could follow suit with being healthy, or possibly go into something like sexuality. Are people overly sexual? How about security? Death sentence? I don't know off the top of my head :p

Public gun ownership is like the whole nuclear weapons situation. Everyone gets one, because they'll need it if somebody else wants to use theirs. All it takes is for someone to be crazy enough not to care about the consequences, and we end up wishing that the damned things were never allowed in the first place. The point is that when everybody is free to have their own weapon, be it pistol or doomsday device, it won't be long before somebody with the wrong intentions gets their hands on one. And when that happens, innocent people are going to die.
