I was hoping they would have a character like Tabatha, since she is my all-time favorite bachelorette in RF! Maybe she'll be part of the royal elven family like Tabatha. That'd be awesome!

I wonder why they only have 3 bachelors? I mean I'll be more focused on the girls but still...
I guess that means no rival marriages... I miss those.

Good for quincy, but for me I am so sick of elf maids. I thought Daria was a sign of the end of the elf maid obsession. Guess not :/. Well it said she used to be a maid. Maybe she does something else now.

Maybe the elf-maid thing has to do with some kind of elf custom or something like that. There must be some purpose behind the elfs becoming maids. Although when I think about Minerva from RFF, I doubt she would ever become a maid with her attitude towards humans.

Now that I think about it, it may have something to do with the DSC family, since they always have a elf maid.

Maybe Melprin (or Merublin, or Melpurin, and so on) is from another branch of Bianca's family line, because Oceans is supposed to happen some time after Frontier.

I know that Tabatha wanted to help with the wall between humans and monsters, that's why she became a maid. But I don't know why the other Elves became maids.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) one might get an impression that elves can't (provided they TRY to) get a prominent social positon among people... but then again, both gan and Daria subvert it (althouh Daria DOES live in the same place where a mermaid runs the bathhouse, so... I guess elf was the best they could come up with...? They wanted it to be something special, but now they've made a trend of it. I don't mind, I don't ever marry them anyway. >D

So, looking back... Bismarck looks better from the front. Anyone agree with me?

Anyway, I agree on Bismarck looking much better from the front, and there is a rumor that started at the festa jump; saying he is Sarah's sister. I want to found out more about his character.
I'm going to get a new hat for Sonia as soon as I can, her current hat is odd and not very nice to look at.

Eh they don't look like they would be siblings. But nothing makes sense in video games anyways. Especially families. I still care more about who James sister is, and if he is obsessed with her.

I think there was a screen shot and Azel had some kind of goggles on his head. I don't remember for sure but that would be cool.

Who knows. We saw monsters who could sow seeds, water and harvest crops, chop wood, break boulders... There just might be some who can cook and clean the house as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

^It is definitely possible there are monsters skilled enough to cook and clean, I just don't think Minataur is the monster to do it.
But look at the Univar. They were smarter then a lot of the humans in RF3.

I would like to see more monster characters. I don't want them to go back to having only elves and dwarfs as the species besides humans. So far there is only one elf and that's it though :/.

I don't even see them as monsters. They look more like another humanoid race, on par with elves.

The Univar seem to be like The Elves (imo), really smart, likes monsters, and nature.

Anyway, another update from cuc, but he didn't translate all of the update so here is the link to the site he got this from. Link.

I'm putting the update in spoiler tags because there are some real spoilers this time, so don't read it if you don't want some of the main story spoiled.

Spoiler:
On the system side, this preview covers mostly common ground of the series such as requests, marriage and season changes. What's new is:

-The categories of crafting are cooking, forging, carpentry, accessories and pharmacy. So we have carpentry as the new type of crafting, which means we can make furnitures by ourselves?
-The spirits are introduced as "they influence farming" and "their appearance on the island is related to some secret".
-The preview also doesn't go into any detail about having children.

-You participate in the voting at the swimsuits contest. 8 contestants are introduced, including Sonia and all bachelorettes except Mikoto, which may imply that Mikoto wouldn't take part in the contest.

Merupurin (Voice: Hirohashi Ryo)
Dark-skinned elf. Was maid of the DSC family.
Her outward attitude may appear cold, but she has a kind heart.

# Hero Candidate (bachelor):
Bismarck (Voice: Hayami Hideyuki)
Little brother of the general store twins. Unlike Serah/Sayla, he's a talented merchant.

# Others
Juslyn (Voice: Saito Fuko)
A purple-haired woman. She's an archaeologist who visits the island twice a week, and she can appraise items (not sure if this means there'll be an item identification/appraisal system). Already married.

Pandora (Voice: Tamura Yukari)
Only a silouette is shown. Seems to be a loli. A dark lord whose failed petrification spell turned herself into stone 400 years ago. She has no remaining power.


Observations:
As has been speculated, Juslyn has the same VA as the man in mask, which don't necessarily mean they are the same person (all RF games have VAs that play multiple characters).

Where are all the other townspeople? By my calculation, beginning with RF2, each game has 7 unmarriageable adult characters who are not young men, and RFO only has 4 so far. The absence of these other adults would leave a significant gap in the island's social structure. There must be more to come in future updates.

I'm sure by now all main characters have been revealed, and Pandora is the hidden marriageable candidate.

Anyways Bismarck sounds like Louis, lame. I am still hoping he's going to have a good personality but he just seems more and more like the typical shy, low self esteem, glasses guy character. So disappointing.

Merupurin sounds cool (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaevil.gif) . That solves the mystery of green-haired girl once and for all.

Pandora is not for me. I don't like really young looking marriage candidates. Well I guess I should til I actually see her, but I don't like the way her personality sounds like either.
