@Pumpkin Patch, I hope there will be more guys then just three or four. Azel has all the marriage candidates, but it's not a bad thing I guess.
I think that would make sense about the masked person. @Hunter, I think they will have amnesia about a few things that have to do with the main plot. @Crystal Skull, We don't know if you have to have the Move, but I'm pretty sure you'll need it. Someone on Ushi no Tane translated some stuff off of a Japanese site, "System update: The report makes it sounds like the farming procedure in RFO is: raising an island from sea floor -> using spirit magic to bring up the plants -> assigning monsters to take care of them" "Character update: Joe fell in love with Sonia at first sight. A screenshot shows him saying 「合宿といえば海だろ!」, which the best translate I can think of is "if we are camping together, of course it should be at sea!" Elena urged the protagonists to allow her dissect Ymir. Mikoto spoke the typical "I'll slash you if you do anything unwholesome" to the protagonists." Joe sounds interesting... |

Elena is kinda reminding me of Marian. Just because she wants to do some creepy experiment on poor Ymir (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaeyes.gif) . I hope she doesn't go overboard with that. Mikoto better not end up being just like Mei or Raven. Joe sounds like a real nice guy. I don't think he's that bad. But I like James/Azel more so far.
I thought neither of them had any amnesia because they were in a new world so they didn't what was going on anyways. |

Oh please not another Marian, I'll hate Elena if she tries anything odd on poor Ymir.
When I first saw Joe I thought he was going to be a jerk of some type, but what he said makes me think he might not be your typical upbeat guy. I still like James and Azel more then Joe though. I don't know how the typical amnesia is going to work in this one. |

Same. Elena will go way down on my list if she's all crazy. I always figured Joe would be the typical energetic outgoing guy that likes playing dumb tricks (sorta like Joe from Harvest Moon). But I guess he isn't that typical. RF is pretty good with having unique characters.
I thought this game wasn't going to be connected to the official RF time-line. But if there are guest characters then it must fit in somewhere. I want to know how this game fits in with the rest. That's why I still care more about the guest characters then the new ones right now. |

I wish HM games would have great characters like RF too.
When we see who the guest characters are, then we'll know where Oceans goes in the time-line. |

RF follows the same sort of "roles" thing that HM does, it just has a more varied world for those characters to be more interesting in I think. HM essentially has town people reacting to the town and occasionally the mysterious "The City" is brought up or somesuch. Not much for them to work with.

I agree with you. Like how there is an official main heroine there are other roles that are always in each RF game (for example there is always a rich family with a food obsessed dad and a marriage candidate daughter. Although that might not be the case for RFO since so far there isn't a father at all). It is the same in Harvest Moon. But there is more opportunity for originality since there is really no limit to what you can be/do in RF games.

After all, we all know Rich Girl with Monster Elephant Pet is more interesting than Rich Girl Living In Farming Community. There's just no way the contemporary version could ever ever compete with fantasy unless they decided to flesh out the HM games a LOT due to design alone.

Just curious - assuming that this will be localized, anyone prefer xseed over natsume or vice versa?

XSeed is preferable due to their work on Rune Factory Frontier blowing Natsume's job on the first two DS titles out of the water in quality. I haven't played the third one yet to know if they've stepped up their game since then though.

I agree, considering that RFF was one of a few games where I could stand their voice acting (though I still prefer the original voices and kudos for them to even consider leaving it in as an option even if it didn't work out in the end). And at the very least, someone seemed to have spell-checked. I'd hate it when things like these ruin a good game, but here's hoping....
On a completely different note, I like the fact that the rich girl in RFO is formerly rich - nice change of pace~ |

I really don't care who translates it. I have had no problems with any of the games based on translations. So if Natsume isn't as good I never noticed. I just hope it comes out quickly -_-.
Didn't it say somewhere you lease the house next to the inn? That means you don't live in Ymir (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalagrin.gif) . After all, we all know Rich Girl with Monster Elephant Pet is more interesting than Rich Girl Living In Farming Community. There's just no way the contemporary version could ever ever compete with fantasy unless they decided to flesh out the HM games a LOT due to design alone. Haha right. The HM games don't have as much to work with since they are just farming. |

I read that somewhere too I hope Xseed does it because they worked really quick on RFF, and there wasn't even any mistakes that I noticed. BTW: where's the pic of this green-haired girl, and bathing suits? I hope it's going to be like RF3 where you can wear your bathing suit anytime, and anywhere. |

Here is the video with the green-haired girl in it. We don't have a picture of her yet.
Xseed did an okay job, but they were still typos and Nolan called Loot, Luke once. But I'll be happy if they do Oceans. And here is what it said about the house, "Azel decides to temporarily reside on the island and leases the house next to Odette's. However, the next day, a tremendous incident shakes the island, leading to the start of Azel's adventures out on the sea." |

Wow, the fighting looks like so much fun. I only play RF2 and I never really got to fight and when I did it was slow and boring.

Well, even the next DS installment pushed up the fighting pace, so what do you expect from a more powerful console? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalagrin.gif)
Although I've never seen how fights in RFF work... |

the fights in frontier are not as good as in 3. There's not really many combos you can do. Though I still like frontier better as a whole.
btw, is it here yet? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif) |

I think the fighting is better in RF3 too. This game looks awesome though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaevil.gif) . |

The fighting in RF3 was far better then the fighting in Frontier.
The main site has been updated again! No new characters, but, some new screenshots and a new video! |
