Oh my Everything I am so happy! I am so glad they are making more Rune Factories. This sounds so cool. I haven't even played Rune Factory 3 and now I'm all excited for a game that isn't even out in Japan yet. But I'm sure it will come out in English someday. I really want to know more about this game. Hopefully more scans will come out soon.

Huh. I wonder if this means that Marvelous will attempt to produce a game in HD... It'd be a waste to put it on the PS3 if it's just going to be SD graphics.

The return of the "three marriage candidates only" thing is a major disappointment, though I daresay it hasn't been revealed whether there are any special candidates or not, so I'll reserve final judgment on that aspect until more details have been revealed.

The story/setting reminds me a little of Windwaker, which I wasn't a big fan of, but... it could be good. It just depends on how they execute it.

Also, the addition of a female protagonist has been a long time coming. Glad they finally got down to it, though I must say I fear what kind of lamewad marriage candidates they'll have for her. The ones in these last few games have been pathetic. :/

I can't believe it! I'm so happy I can't even think.
Okay, this game looks promising I can't wait until we get to see more information on it.
I wish the scans were more clear.

I am hoping that there are less female marriage candidates because they are making male candidates as well (at first I figured the girl just wouldn't be able to get married at all). And I hope that there will be maybe one or two more then the three already shown.

Haha yeah if there are marriage candidates for her let's hope they don't suck (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) . Although I always thought the guys in Rune Factories were pretty cool. Not that you could marry them.

Oh my, I didn't think to check THIS subforum for a RFO thread. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)
(erm... now how exactly do I delete mine? I can't see a delete option (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jack_embarassed.gif) ).
It's really great and unexpected news. The new features look promising, the new girls look cute (although I'm nervous about the possible repetition of names like Iris and Sophia (or is it Sonia after all?)), the new setting will be a good addition to the picture of the RF universe. I wonder how it fits into the timeline of the previous games and if there will be cameos, too.
Hopefully, the farming will include something:
- either less complicated/hardly neglectable than Runey System
- or something as complicated/hardly neglectable as Runey System but WELL-COVERED in-game. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

*Missed this* Mnyaaaah.

*Stares happily an giggles*
I'm tired because I've just done a whole bunch of work, but oooh. I want it. <3
Though I hope sometime I'll get all of the other Rune Factories. I know Rune Factory Frontier is out, but the other two.... *Palmface*
I'm so glad they made this series. <3

So it might not be like Harvest Moon where when you start a file you just choose which gender you are and then play the game. In this article it says you play as both the boy and the girl. And it's not until you reach some point in the game that you get to choose which one you're going to be for the rest of the time. So when you do choose I wonder if it's because something bad happens to the other one (like they get sucked into a whirlpool or something).

ALmost everything looks juicy, but...
switching from portraits to 3D models in dialogues is not something I'd expect. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_tam.gif)

In Oceans, you take control of a main character who is, in a sense, both male and female.

wait, what??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaeyes.gif)
Ranma 1/2, anyone? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

While Azel and Sonia were unique individuals in their own worlds, when transported to the world of Rune Factory Oceans

Another dubious detail for me. Haven't games like Summon Night and FFT exploited this feature to the bottom? I thought the Forest of Beginnings was the only dimension connected with the RF universe.

Well I read the article and I was completely wrong. I thought they were going to be two separate people and you somehow switched between the characters. Shows what I know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) .

I also noticed that. They always use portraits in Rune Factory games. I am kinda disappointed they changed that, but oh well.

Hopefully RF4 for [3]DS (anyone has doubts of it coming sooner or later?) won't adopt this feature. SE seems to be one of the FEWEST companies making 3D models as rich and expressive as hand-drawn portraits. What RFO offers doesn't reach that level.
At least we'll get to see 2D in the opening... I hope so.
(btw, it may be offtopic, but I've been curious for some time - what studio makes cutscenes for RF series?)

The 3D models in the dialogue seems really odd to me, but if that's what Marvelous wants to go for, then okay.
I still want to see some of the wii version, so fare all I've seen are PS3 screens.

Siliconera has a new topic on the game, read it here.

"Naturally, it wouldn’t be a Rune Factory game without combat, so here’s a quick look at that, too. It looks like Neverland Co. are trying to give the “dungeons” a little more diversity this time around than in Rune Factory Frontier. In fact, that ship doesn’t look like a dungeon at all."

I don't know. On one hand, I'm really excited that they're finally making a new Rune Factory, but on the other hand this is not what I was expecting. I just don't like the concept. Traveling across the ocean and visiting different islands? That sounds a lot like The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker to me, and I hated that game. I suppose we'll see. I'm hoping they do some decent graphics for the PS3. I've been waiting for some decent games on that system.

Just to let you know, all of the screens we have seen are from the PS3 version of the game.
I love the whole feeling of exploring the ocean and finding new islands, old pirate ship's and I can't wait to see how they do the farming part of the game!

On a side note The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker is in my top two favorite Zelda games. I think that's why I'm so excited for this new RF game.

3d models instead of portraits.... It kind of.... Doesn't feel right. Though I don't really mind much.
I want to hear more, since there's not really much to judge on. Though in the end; I know I'm going to want to buy it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

The more I think about 3d models instead of portraits, I get really sad about the whole thing.

IGN put up some screens, this one is the only new one.
