Since I finally got the DVD I've been waiting a month for, I re-record a few of the numbers so I could share with you guys. But don't get too eager. I mean, it's certainly far from professional… Anyway. We put this little Kander & Ebb revue together in something short of a week with a big group of 12-17 year-olds. Yadda yadda.
Technically I recorded four pieces, but since youtube thinks that it's funny to make me wait an hour and a half for 3 minutes of video, I only did two (I excluded the large group numbers). Sooo, here we go! All That Jazz from Chicago. Yes, I'm aware of the uh, "singing". And its quality. .__. My solo performance, Sara Lee from a production based around the talents of Liza. Please try to get past the spectacularly awful voice crack in the beginning--I swear it gets better from there. It's fun--feel free to laugh, I guess? I hope I don't look like too much of a doofus. Wow, Katie! You're really good! I don't know how you guys can pull all that off, I'd suck pretty badly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

Just tell me one thing, does that short girl from the first video even know the meaning of emotion? I mean, seriously... I don't think I've heard that listless of a performance of that song... ever. Not to mention... she look utterly bored and uninterested. Why was she even there if she didn't actually want to act? (Or is she just that bad at it?)
Anyway, in comparison to her, your solo performance was like a breath of fresh air. It was full of emotion and LIFE. LIFE I TELL YOU. It was like watching the Wizard of Oz all over again. First I was in Kansas, all gray and done black-and-white film and then SUDDENLY A TWISTER CAME and I was whisked off to the Land of Oz, where everything was in COLOR!!!!! ;w; It was beautimous. |

Aww, you guys. <3 ://]
Mizuki: Yeah, she's like thirteen, though, so I can't really blame her. Most of the younger performers were the same--especially the monologuers. At points it's something similar to a sixth grade pageant where kids are forced to memorize little things and repeat them without emotion/breath. For example, the one guy (yellow shirted leprechaun) who did Mr. Cellophane, myself, and another 17-year-old Lizzie who did Maybe This Time just seemed to ooze so much more emotion and life into the songs as opposed to others. Butyes. Thank you so. That's such a wonderful compliment! I had one of the funnier, upbeat numbers (which I always seem to get cast with), so it wasn't terribly hard to really have fun and get into the song. <3 Saf: CAN'T COMPARE HER, NOT WITH SARA.
