~UPDATE 8/14/11~
I've been constantly thinking about what to do with this sotry. I loved writing it, and I was really happy to see that some of you enjoyed it. Unfortunately, due to so many things changing on this site and people leaving, I feel awkward writing certain things, and I just don't feel the push to write much more. Is this officially the end of this fan fiction? Maybe. I guess what I'm basicly saying is that I'm putting this project officially on hold. This was approved by Saffy and Toaster Boy. This story was inspired by the amazing new sets Katie has worked on for the admins. I admit, this introduction is pretty boring, but arn't most intros not very exciting. Please bare with me. I'll try to write and post new chapters in my spare time. I will now stop typing so you can read the first chapter of Once Upon an Adventure. Chapter 1: Introduction to Adventure The land of Ranch Storia was a happy one. Everyone lived in harmony. The land contained four kingdoms. To the north lied Cool Guy Kingdom, to the east laid The Great Toasty land, to the south laid Wild Thing Forest, and to the east laid Kozu Kingdom. Each of the four Kingdoms kept respectively to each of their areas, and each were proudly run by a king of their own. The inhabitants were free to live in any kingdom they were accepted into. Each of the different races (humans, toasters, wild things, and hot women) seemed to fit in perfectly to at least one of the kingdoms. Our story begins in the neutral forest. A very normal forest planted right in the center of the land. Most described it as the central hub of Ranch Storia. In the heart of the forest lied a magnificent mansion. It had magnificent walls, windows, and doors. It seemed to almost sparkle in the sunlight. This mansion was owned by one of the most intelligent fellows in the land: Darth-Paper-Boy. “Thanks again for letting us stay here, Darth,” said ZBoy as he leaned back into a lawn chair placed outside on the grounds of the mansion. A boy came up from under the water of the small turtle pond. “This entire place is enchanting! Thank you so much for having us.” Oscar pulled himself up from the water, grabbed a towel, and began to dry himself off. “It isn’t any bad news bears at all. It sometimes gets lonely out here in the forest. It was a pleasure inviting you out here.” The soft and monotone voice of Darth-Paper-Boy came from the third boy sitting on the ground leaning against a rock. His attention was focused onto handheld in his hands. “It’s really nice to be able to finally do something,” began ZBoy. ” It gets pretty boring sitting around in your own home alone.” Oscar, finishing drying himself off, spoke up. “Tell me about it. I wish something exciting could happen. This land could really use some excitement. If only we could find an adventure to go…” he stopped talking. “Is something wrong Oscar,” asked ZBoy, sitting up in his chair. “Darth, does anyone else live around here?” Oscar was looking out into the forest beyond the fence that bordered the mansion. “Of course not, I’m the only one,” said Darth, still not looking up from his handheld. “Hmm, that’s really odd because I swear I just saw a girl in that bush over there looking at us,” Oscar explained. “She looked like she had fear in her eyes. I’m going to go look for her.” “You probably shouldn’t do that. It would be smart to stay in the safe fenced in area of the mansion. It is going to get dark soon, and who knows what roams out there.” Darth finally looked up from his handheld. “We can’t just leave her out there. Come on ZBoy, I thought your motto was all about helping others.” ZBoy looked up at Oscar and began to explain. “That was my motto, but I’m retired now.” Oscar looked confused at Zboy. “Aren’t you only sixteen?” “Yes,” ZBoy replied. “Well you can’t hold me back, I have to go and help that girl. Darth, you said yourself it isn’t safe out there.” Oscar quickly threw on his shirt, got down, and began to put his shoes on. “Are you sure you don’t want to come with me?” ZBoy looked down into his lap. He nodded his head. “Ok,” he said looking up. “I’ll come with you, but only if I get to wear my cape and mask,” he finished. “Are… are you serious? Fine, but hurry up. I would like to at least try to get back here before dark. Are you coming Darth?” Darth began to laugh. “You’re crazy if you think I’m coming.” He got up off the ground and began to walk up towards the house. “Just make sure the gate is shut. If any of us are going to survive, I would like to at least be able to claim that I wasn’t one of the unintelligent ones not locked up safe behind a fence.” ZBoy came out of the house while Darth went in. Additional to the clothes he already had on, he now wore an orange cape, and a black mask that he wore around his eyes. “I’m ready!” he said striking a heroic pose. Oscar rolled his eyes and began to walk towards the gate of the property, muttering under his breath “I need to start finding some more friends.” What adventures are in store for Oscar and ZBoy? Who is the girl? Is she real? Was Oscar seeing things? Will they remember to shut the gate behind them!? Chapter 2: Of Godly Descent “Oscar, it is get late. We really should start heading back,” said Zboy with a stutter in his voice. “I need to find that girl. We are already this far out here. It would be useless to go back,” Oscar replied with determination in his voice. “But aren’t you hungry?” ZBoy began to think of any other reasons that would make Oscar want to go back. “I’m only a little hungry. Hey, if we find this girl, maybe she’ll have tacos.” As Oscar said this, a smirk filled up on his face. “Oscar I can barely see my own hand. We should really try to get back to the mansion.” ZBoy was shaking. He felt really scared. The dark was his one weakness. “Look, there is where I saw the girl!” Oscar’s soft trot turned into a run. He ran towards the clearing where he had seen the girl behind the bush. ZBoy kept up to Oscar, too scared to be left behind. The two now stood in the center of a small clearing. The moon was the only light, shining down to where they stood. “Look Oscar, there is no girl. Let’s go.” ZBoy turned around to start walking back. “That is so odd, I swear I saw her.” He turned around to face ZBoy, but he realized that he was the only one standing in the clearing. “ZBoy? Hmph, some hero. He ditched me!” Oscar walked over to where ZBoy had been standing. He looked up into the tree. ZBoy was tied up hanging from a branch. He had a bandana tied around his mouth, taking the ability to talk from ZBoy. “So you wanted to go back to the mansion so badly, yet now your climbing trees!?” Oscar was frustrated. He turned around. A fist clogged him in the face. The fighter’s foot came around and hit Oscar’s left leg, knocking him over. The fighter pulled out a small blade and jumped onto Oscar, holding the blade to his throat. “Please don’t kill me!” Oscar began to plead for his life. The two eyes behind the black mask of the fighter stared him down. “You know it isn’t safe for two boys to be walking this forest at night, especially when one is dressed in swim trunks, and one in a wimpy superhero outfit.” Oscar had been expecting to hear the voice of a man, but instead heard the determined voice of a girl. “Wait! You’re a chick!?” Oscar was shocked. The fighter did a back flip off of Oscar. She placed the knife into its holder hanging from her belt. “Wait! You’re a chick!” Oscar was still shocked. “Yes, I’m girl! Do you have a problem?” She placed her hand on the knife handle. “No no! There is nothing wrong with that! I’m just a little shocked.” He sat up, and began to pick himself up. “You’re lucky I didn’t kill you. I could have taken your life in an instant.” Oscar cautiously walked over to her. “Why didn’t you kill us?” Oscar asked. “What would I gain from you two, a boy in a childish superhero costume and a boy in swimwear? Oh, everyone would be jealous. The bandit who killed two kids! Let me tell you that would not look good on my record! You don’t even have money or food on yourselves for me to take!” She paused, taking in a breath. Oscar spoke up. “First of all, I’m not a boy. Based on your height and voice, I can tell I’m older than you. Also, stop making fun of my swimwear. My mom got it for me as a gift.” The eyes behind the mask rolled. “What is your name kid?” She replied as if she didn’t even care what he had to say. “My name is Oscar.” He replied with a smile on his face. “Oscar what?” The bandit girl asked. “I don’t know,” said Oscar. “I just go by as Oscar. What is your name?” The girl paused. Her eyes pierced Oscar, looking over him. She breathed in. Her hands slowly crept over her mask. The bandit grabbed the top of the mask and pulled up taking it off. Fluent, amber red hair flowed out of the mask. Her gaze never left Oscar. Oscar’s jaw dropped. “My name is Twilight Wanderer, Descendent of Ignis.” Who is this girl? Why was she in the forest? Is Oscar’s swimwear comfortable? Will they remember to untie ZBoy from the branch of the tree? Find out in the next chapter of Once Upon an Adventure! Chapter 3: The Bar…err… I mean The Tolby…err… I mean the DerfSlerf Oscar asked Twilight Wanderer to come back to the mansion with him. After some arguing, she finally gave in to spending the night in one of the many guest rooms. “Oh doggy doodoo!” Oscar exclaimed while stopping in his tracks. “What?” Twi stopped and looked. Oscar ran up to the gate to the mansion property. “We left the gate open! Darth is going to kill me!” They ran into the yard. Oscar quickly turned and shut the gate. “Hopefully nothing got in.” The group began to walk up to the property. “Looks like something got in,” Twi said without even looking over to Oscar. Her eyes were focused on her pray. She immediately leaped up into the air towards the front door. Darth was there, fighting off a wolf. Twi landed on the wolf, killing it with the swipe of her knife. She flipped off of him while placing the knife into its holder. “No need for thanks,” she directed towards the wide eyed Darth who was now leaning over breathing air. Darth looked up pointed at Oscar, still panting. “You…idiot…you left… the gate… open.” Oscar put his hands behind his back and smiled. “Sorry!” Twi muttered under her breath, “No really it’s ok, no need to thank me.” Oscar and Twi both helped Darth up and into the house. Darth immediately went to bed, cursing quietly to himself. Twi and Oscar went into the parlor: a dimly lit room with a giant fireplace. The room had a set of couches in front of the fireplace. The walls were lined with bookshelves filled with videogames of every kind. The whole room had a warm and cozy feel to it. Twilight Wanderer’s jaw dropped. “It truly is marvelous isn’t it?” Oscar said falling over onto one of the couches in front of the fireplace. “Please, have a seat.” Twi walked over to the couch opposite of the one occupied by Oscar and took a seat. “So tell me,” began Oscar eagerly, “Why are you a bandit? Why were you in the woods at night? Why were you watching me swim? Do you like soft shell or hard shell tacos?” He was cut off by Twi’s held up hand. Twilight Wanderer breathed in. She looked down at the floor. “As you know, my name is Twilight Wander. I am a descendent of Ignis the Harvest God. I need money and food to survive, and from the small village I come from, I was able to see this magnificent manor sparkling in the sunlight high up from a hill. I knew this would be a jackpot, so I made my way here.” She paused, took in a deep breath and continued. “I saw you all swimming, so I knew I would have to wait until dark. I was shocked to see you walking in the woods, so I attacked.” She still looked at the floor. “There is still one thing that doesn’t make sense to me though,” Oscar replied with confusion in his voice. “Don’t you have a family?” Twi’s head shot up. Her eyes stabbed Oscar. He felt uncomfortable. “I used to have a family,” she stuttered. “I’m looking for my sister. She disappeared when we were young. Ever since then, I’ve been looking for her.” “You’re more than welcome to stick around,” said Oscar. “Thank you, but I can’t. Every day I don’t spend searching for my sister is just another day I don’t get to spend with her.” Oscar nodded his head in agreement, his eyes lit up. “Hey, why don’t ZBoy and I…” he paused. “Oh my gosh we never took ZBoy out of the tree!” Oscar yelled in horror. He sprang up from the couch and was about to run to the door. Twi got up and grabbed his arm. She shook her head. “It is way too dangerous in deep night to go back. He’ll be fine on that branch; we can go get him in the morning.” Oscar nodded his head in agreement. The two of them both went back to the couches and sat down on them. Oscar started up again. “As I was saying, why don’t ZBoy and I come with you? We were both just discussing today how boring our lives are. I’m sure ZBoy would love to come.” He began to grin at the thought of doing something adventurous. “Normally I would say no, but something is telling me I should let you guys come along. Tomorrow we will go back to my village. There is a local bar where almost anyone passes through. You’d be surprised at what kinds of things you can hear there. Maybe we’ll hear information regarding my sister.” Oscar nodded his head again, really excited at the thought of adventure. “That sounds like a really good plan! I’m going to go to bed then. I need to be well rested for tomorrow.” The next morning, Twi got up. She went downstairs and into the large kitchen. One of Darth’s many servants was making breakfast. Oscar soon came down into the kitchen. Instead of wearing swimwear however, he now wore something completely different. Oscar was now wearing white tights, a pair of boots, a green tunic with a belt, and a long green cap. He looked like an elf. “How do you like it? I thought it would be appropriate for me, an adventurer, to wear.” Oscar smiled making a heroic pose. He then sat down at the table. “So Darth, want to come with us?” Darth looked up at Oscar with a smirk on his face. He slowly began to laugh. He got up from the table, and began to leave the room. “Make sure you shut the gate. Oh man I need a vacation!” After breakfast, Oscar and Twi departed from the mansion. Oscar made sure this time that the gate was closed behind them. They walked over to the clearing where Twi had shaken them up. Oscar looked up into the tree, and sure enough he saw ZBoy still in the same position. “Oh ZBoy, dude I am so sorry!” Twilight Wanderer jumped up onto the branch, pulled out her knife, and cut the bandana covering ZBoy’s mouth the rope holding him in his position. He flopped down onto his face. “Ouch…” he shook his head. “You would be surprised how wonderful it is to sleep in a tree!” ZBoy looked at Twi. His eyes widened. He got down onto the ground cupping his hands over his head. Oscar lifted him up. Oscar and Twi explained to ZBoy everything about Twi’s story, leaving the gate open, going to the small village, searching for Twi’s sister, and how great breakfast was without him. ZBoy agreed to go with them. He was excited. It wasn’t long before the three adventurers reached the small village of Empty Space. It was a small rundown village that connected to all of the kingdoms. Everyone passed through it. The small homes were old and falling apart, but everyone always felt safe and homey. Right in the center of the small village was the local bar. “What on earth?” Oscar and ZBoy both stopped and looked up at the sign. It was a very large sign. On the sign the word “The Bar” was printed, but then it was crossed out in red paint, and the word “The Tolby” was sloppily written in the red paint. “The Tolby” was then crossed out in the same paint and now was labeled “The Derfslerf”. Oscar and ZBoy looked over at Twi. Twi also looked confused. “It looks like they changed the name yet again. She shook her head, walked up to the door, pushed it open, and walked in. Oscar and ZBoy looked at each other, shrugged, and followed. “Hey there Tolby,” said Twi sitting down at one of the many stools. The bar looked like the most modern area in the entire village. The bar itself was huge, and there were at least over twenty bar stools. Across the back walls were booths for people to sit down it. A set of girls currently occupied one of the booths. There were no windows, and the entire room was dark. The only light came from the candles sitting on the booth tables, and the dim bulbs over the bar counter. “Twilight Wanderer,” said the dark fellow working the bar. “My name isn’t Tolby anymore.” Twi looked shocked! “What do you mean?” “The kings legally changed my name to Derfslerf.” ZBoy and Oscar let out a snort, but quickly covered their mouths when Tolby gave them a glance of death. “But I thought you and the kings made a settlement saying that the bar had to be your name when you took over…. Oh…” Twi remembered seeing the newly placed paint with the new name of the bar. A young girl came up to the bar counter. An overweight cat sat at her side. “Excuse me Tol…err… Derfslerf. Lady drank too much again; do you have anything I can give her?” The young girl looked over towards Twi, Oscar, and ZBoy. She smiled. “I guess I can make something for that stupid drunk. He began to pull out many different things, adding each of them into a blender.” The young girl looked over towards them once more. “How are you doing Twi? Whose are these fellows?” Oscar and ZBoy both introduced themselves. “Well it is a pleasure to meet the both of you.” She smiled again. “My name is Crystal Talien. I’m a regular here. I don’t really enjoy drinking though, I just like the company.” Tolby handed her the concoction he had been working on. “Thanks Derfslerf…” She sounded awkward the way she said it. She walked back to her booth, and tried to make an attempt to have the woman whose face was planted into the table drink it. After a few minutes of watching Crystal try to make the lady know as Lady drink the concoction, Twi finally spoke up. “So you were going to say something?” “What do you mean I was going to say something?” You could tell by his tone that this bartender wasn’t the friendliest fellow. “About the kings?” Twi asked, seeming unaffected by Tolby’s tone. The dark bartender opened his mouth, but didn’t say anything because someone had just entered the bar. “The Gopher is in the house!” exclaimed a young laid back fellow. “Oh great, party boy is here,” said Tolby dryly. The young fellow trotted on over to a booth in the corner and flung himself down into the seat. “Hey Derfablobba-whatever-your-name-is, get me the usual!” After the fellow was taken care of Tolby came back to the bar. He finally began to explain everything. “I’m going to say this once, and if you don’t hear me the first time, then go cry about it.” Everyone nodded showing they understood. “Ok, so word is going around that the kings are losing their minds. I don’t mean they are stupid, because well, they always were stupid, but what I’m saying is their brains are turning into mush. They aren’t acting the same. Jason isn’t caring about hot women, Saffy is demanding Wild Thing Forest’s new currency is waffles, and Toaster Boy is eating toast. Here is the amazing part: he is putting all of the toaster inhabitants to work. He is ordering each of them make him at least 10 pieces of toast or they get the plug pulled. Apparently, they can barely speak normal anymore too. It seems that Kozunai hasn’t been affected yet. Most are saying its normal, but let me tell you, it isn’t.” “Well, what do you think should be done?” ZBoy asked. Tolby smirked. “I say leave everything as it is. The thought of this land going down the toilet, ah what a gift that would be.” Oscar planted his fist on the table. “I say we do something good about this!” “Well I think you’re crazy,” Tolby immediately replied. “No, I like that idea,” Twi began. “While we go to each of the kingdoms, it would give me my chance to expand my horizons and find my sister. I would also be doing a good deed for the Ranch Storia.” The three adventurers agreed that they would investigate this mysterious mystery. Which kingdom will the trio go to first? Will Derfslerf ever get his name changed back? Will that concoction cure Lady? Does Twi prefer soft shell or hard shell tacos!? Chapter 4: Off to Cool Guy Kingdom “So which kingdom should we go to first?” ZBoy asked, causing the other two to stop in their tracks. “Honestly,” began Twi “I think we should go to cool guy kingdom. He is the king of kings. If we were to help him, then he would have the large power of helping us in the other kingdoms, I say we go there.” “What do you say Oscar, does that sound good?” ZBoy turned around looking at him. Oscar put his hand on his chin and began to think. He nodded. “His kingdom is known for its hot women!” Twi rolled her eyes in disgust. “So it is settled then, we go to Cool Guy Kingdom?” ZBoy and Oscar nodded. “I’m not sure how we get there though. I just know it is located in the northern mountain region.” Twi said. “Maybe I can help you,” said a feminine voice from behind. The group turned around to see a short young looking girl. She wore travelers clothes, and on her back hung a giant backpack almost as big as her. Sprawling from the backpack were pots, lanterns, tent pieces, and keys! Over her clother she wore a black and white jacket. The jacket’s hood was worn by the girl. It was also black and white, with two round and black ears sitting on top of it. “Allow me to introduce myself,” the girl said. “My name Mizuki the Panda, but you may call me Mizuki for short. I am a world traveler.” She smiled. “What perfect timing!” ZBoy exclaimed. “You’ll really help us?” “Why yes, of course,” she replied. “I’m heading that way anyway. I need to go to the northern mountains to search for a rare flower.” “Well I definitely don’t see why we shouldn’t let you come with us then. It will be nice to have another girl in the group,” said Twi with a smile on her face. “Well, shall we get going then? Even if we stay on the path, it isn’t the brightest idea to be in The Neutral Forest after dark. They say the animals have gotten a bit restless.” The group began to trot towards the forest. The trip through the forest was pretty quiet. Nobody really talked. There and there ZBoy would point out something he thought that looked really cool, but otherwise there really wasn’t any conversation occurring. Oscar finally broke the hour of silence. “Hey Mizuki?” “Yes?” she replied. “What did you mean about the animals being restless?” Mizuki didn’t reply for a few seconds. “I travel around this forest often, seeing that it is the only way to get to the other kingdoms. Well lately, some of the animals have not been the same lately. For example, if you were lucky to see one of the few wolves in this forest, it would either stay, stare at you, or it would run away. That is no longer the case.” “Why, what do they do now?” Oscar asked. “They attack you. It isn’t normal. The wolves were always known as peaceful animals, but they just don’t seem the same. It is almost like they are being controlled.” She turned around. The group stopped walking. With her left hand, Mizuki pulled up her right sleeve of her jacket. On the lower half of her arm, was a large cut at least five inches long. It looked fresh. “A wolf attacked me a few nights ago. I would normally feel safe seeing a wolf watching me, but this one…” Mizuki shook her head. She pulled down her sleeve, turned around and began walking again. The sun was just beginning to set when a fork in the road came up. One trailed off into the mountains, the other kept straight against the side of the mountains. Mizuki turned around “Well this is where I leave you.” She lifted up her hand, and pointed to the path going to the right. “If you continue down this path, you will find yourselves in front of the gate to Cool Guy Kingdom. It was an honor meeting all of you. I’m sure we will meet again.” She smiled, waved, and then began to walk up the left path going up into the mountains. Mizuki was right; it wasn’t very long before the group of adventurers found themselves standing in front of the entrance gate to the Cool Guy Kingdom. From the outside walls, the group could see the towering lit up sky scrapers plowing up into the sky. Cool Guy Kingdom was known for its modern look compared to the other kingdoms. “Hey look,” Twi said stopping the group from entering the city. Twi gestured toward a girl who was hiding behind a bush, watching them. She wore normal clothes, but one thing that stood out was the fact that she wore a headband. This headband gave the impression the girl had bunny ears. “Um, we can see you,” said ZBoy. The girls eyes widened as if shocked she was visible. “Please do not tell anyone! If they find out I’m this close to the kingdom, they’ll throw me back all the way to the south!” “What do you mean? Are you in bad news bears here or something?” asked Oscar. The girl got out of the bush and brushed the leaves off of herself. “My name is Zen Clarke! It is nice to see someone normal around here!” “Normal?” Twi asked. “Yeah, King Jasey has a particular taste in his women.” With this statement she pointed up to the top of the gate. The sign had the word “Welcome!” printed on it, and then in paint sprawled below it it said “Sexy Women Only”. “Wow,” the trio said at the same time. “So why are you scared to be seen around here?” Oscar asked. “Honestly, I don’t know,” Zen began. “I think it is because my Jasey knows my love is too good for him, so he keeps sending me off far away.” ZBoy spoke up. “How would he know if you were here or not?” Zen pointed at a wanted poster. The poster contained a picture of Zen. It wasn’t very attractive, and looked as if she didn’t know the picture was being taken. The poster was labeled “Psychopath – If you see this crazy chick, report her IMMEDIATELY. “Honestly, I’m surprised I made it this close to the kingdom’s walls!” the girl claimed. Twi replied this time “It is probably because King Jason has lost his mind.” Zen look insulted “Ok, I know Jasey makes some stupid decisions sometimes, but that gives you no right to…” “No really,” said Twi, cutting her off. “Word is going around that all the kings are losing their minds! That is probably why he didn’t know about you being here.” Zen Clarke took this all in. “I don’t know if this is a good or a bad thing. I mean, this means that I can get into the kingdom now, but it also means that my king is going to be as dumb as a rock.” She shrugged, and skipped through the gate into the city. “You know,” said ZBoy. “I thought that Zen meant calm and relaxed, you know like meditating?” Twi and Oscar giggled with him as they made their way into the kingdom. How is King Jason? What is in store for the trio in the city of sexy women? Will Zen be able to make it around the kingdom without get kicked out? Chapter 5: A Young Little Witch The late night sky began to set over Cool Guy Kingdom. A young girl was crouching behind a rock high up in the northern mountains watching don into the kingdom. The girl had blonde hair and large pretty eyes. She currently wore a short black dress with purple ruffled trim. Atop her head sat a matching pointed hat. Her name was Katie. Katie looked down into the city as everything began to light up. The crowded streets of women soon became even more crowded than before. “This is not going to be easy,” Katie muttered to herself. She turned to her right, facing the northern part of the kingdom. Higher up in the mountains was a tall pointed glass tower. Attached to the top part of this tower was a giant pair of dark sunglasses. This was King Jason’s castle. Katie scouted the empty area around her and then slowly levitated herself off the ground. She flew from rock to rock keeping herself hidden. Even though it was late out, and the mountains were empty, Katie could not risk get seen by anyone. It wasn’t long before Katie was sitting atop a cliff right behind the glass castle. She stared down into the back courtyard. The stone courtyard was quite empty at this hour. There and there one of the many female servants would pass through, but none of them seemed to notice Katie. She jumped off the cliff and levitated herself softly onto the ground. She began to head for a bush, but someone called out to her. It was one of the maids. “Uh, excuse me. I don’t think you’re supposed to be here.” Katie turned around, smacking a giant smile on her face and opening her eyes awkwardly big. “Oh really?” she said. She began to feel really warm. She was so close to her goal. She could not risk messing this up. “I believe training is taking place in the foyer. You are a new servant, correct?” The young servant seemed puzzled. She kept eyeing Katie. It wasn’t everyday you saw someone dressed up like a witch. “Oh right!” Katie replied. “I got lost.” The maid guided Katie into the castle. It was magnificently put together. The floors were covered in beautiful carpet, the walls were decked out in beautiful portraits, and even the beautiful servants occupying the many hallways and rooms added charm. Every time Katie would try to break away, the servant would turn around to tell her some “amazing” fact. These facts seemed to always revolve around something related to King Jason. The servant dropped Katie off in the foyer, the busiest portion of the castle. It was a giant room with many doors. On the opposite wall of the one containing the front doors stood two giant glass elevator doors. Katie knew that that must be the way up to Jason’s throne room. She had to get to that elevator. She began to walk towards them, but someone interrupted. “Over here trainee,” said a high pitched voice followed with a giggle. Katie put on her fake smile, turned around, and walked on over to the group of girls standing by the front door. The trainer servant looked at her. “It is too bad you’re late!” she said followed by her giggle. One of the trainees looked over at Katie. “You missed the tour,” she began to say. “We got to see where Jason eats!” The trainee then clasped her mouth and began to squeal. Katie looked at her oddly. The trainer spoke up again. She held up a skimpy and short maid outfit. “Her is your uniform,” the trainer said, “and because you were late,” she paused and giggled, “you will be in charge of dusting the foyer every day. Katie took the outfit. The trainer then escorted the other trainees out of the room. Katie glared at the trainer as she walked away. She mutter under her breathe. “I’ll show you dust.” The dress in Katie’s hand began to fall apart onto the ground into a giant pile of dust. She began to quickly start walking towards the glass elevator doors. “Trainees are not supposed…” the servant was cut off as Katie pointed at the girls lips. A zipper appeared and zipped together the servant’s lips. Katie pointed her hands at the glass doors. They flew open. She hopped in. She turned around and clapped her hands together, forcing the doors to close and stay shut. Many of the servants were running up to the elevator screaming and yelling. They tried opening the glass doors, but nothing would break them open. Katie forced her hands up, and the elevator swiftly shot up. All the yelling got quieter as Katie went further up the tower. The elevator came to a stop at the top. Katie opened the doors and walked out. She turned around and outlined the doors with her finger. Glue began to ooze through the edges of the elevator, not allowing it to go back down. She turned around and walked to the giant throne that sat at the other end of the room. In the throne sat a grown boy. His black hair was slicked back heavily with gel, and on his nose covering his eyes sat a pair of shades. He was playing Xbox on a TV sitting in front of the throne. He was so distracted that he hadn’t even noticed Katie enter. Surrounding the throne was three women. They wore short and red dresses. Each of them held a pizza box, and when King Jason opened his mouth, one of them would take a slice and feed to him. His eyes never left the screen. After Katie had been standing there, not being noticed for long enough; she walked up to the front of the throne and kicked over the TV, shattering the screen. Jason looked up. Even though she could not see his eyes, she felt that they were angry. He opened his mouth to speak. “What do you thi…” A made had taken a slice and began to shove a piece of pizza into his mouth. Jason coughed. After clearing his throat, he began to speak up again. The maid was about to give him another slice when he slammed the pizza box out of her hand. The girl began to cry. “I have failed the king!” She shoved her face into her hands and ran towards the elevator. The other two girls followed her trying to comfort her. “Who do you think you are?” Jason said angrily. “I’m your best nightmare!” Katie exclaimed. She levitated herself into the air. “Isn’t the line supposed to be worst nightmare?” Jason said, standing up off his throne. “Well yeah, but if I was the worst, that would mean I wouldn’t be able to do this!” She pointed her finger at him. Jason jumped out of the way just as a bolt of lightning shot through the ceiling, hitting the area where Jason was standing. “Your powerful,” Jason began, “but not powerful enough for my banning abilities.” He snapped his fingers while looking at Katie. Nothing happened. Jason gasped, and began to constantly snap while looking at Katie. “Your banning abilities don’t work on me. I hacked into the lands database not allowing you to ban me.” A grin filled her face as she began to laugh. Jason jumped up, hoping to grab Katie’s legs and pull her down, but Katie levitated herself higher up. This caused Jason to fall face first onto the ground below her. Katie plopped down right onto his back, holding him down. “King of sexy women aye?” Katie said to herself. “ I know the perfect gift for you!” Katie put out her palm. A necklace appeared in her hand. A large red heart hanged from the necklaces chain. She placed it around the king’s neck. “You’re not going to get away with whatever your doing! The other kings will figure out what you’re doing!” Jason exclaimed, trying to get Katie off of his back. Katie hopped up and off of his back. “That’s too bad because two of the kings are already under my control,” Katie said still grinning, “and soon it will be three.” Katie walked towards one of the glass walls. She sang to herself. You may be the king of cool, But soon all you’ll do is drool. You tried to fight, And I used flight To get out of your grubby hands I’ll soon own all the lands. She shattered the glass wall and flew out. “You are not going to… Not going to…” Jason paused. His eyes widened, his jaw dropped, and a trickle of drool slowly seeped from his lip. “DERP DERP DERP!” Chapter 6: The King of Cool Oscar, ZBoy, and Twilight Wanderer had found themselves in the city’s pub and inn. It wasn’t like the average looking pub though you saw in the movies when you heard “pub”. The floor was covered in dark wood, and the walls were painted in a dark coat of red. Beautiful cloths draped the walls and few windows, expressing the beauty of the building. And of course, beautiful woman occupying the pub just seemed to make the place that much better. The owner of this magnificent place was a young woman. She had a lush head of magnificent red hair. She wore a beautiful red sequined dress. She was rated one of the most beautiful woman in the kingdom. The woman was kind and gentle being who cared for the sake of others. Her name was Chicken. Chicken had welcomed the group into her pub. She even gave the travelers two rooms to use for the night, free of charge! “Now if you need anything else,” Chicken said walking towards the room door, “I’m just a ring away.” Chicken gestured towards a small bell that hung by the door. The group nodded in agreement. Chicken left, shutting the door behind her. “Well I definitely call a room to myself,” Twi said, falling backwards onto one of the two beds. “I don’t think that is really fair,” ZBoy said. “Why should you get a room to yourself?” “She is a girl,” Oscar answered. “It wouldn’t be right for her to have to share a room with a guy. It would only be polite for us to let her have one to herself.” ZBoy understood. “Well I’ll be in the room next door.” ZBoy began to walk towards the door to the next room. “It would probably be smart for us to get some rest,” Oscar began. “Then we can start trying to figure out if this ‘cursing’ thing is true or not.” “We can also ask around if anyone has seen my sister. With a large city of woman, we may have a chance of her being here.” There was a loud shriek that came from the floor below, the pub. The group all looked at each other. A loud ruckus began to follow the shriek. They ran out of the door and headed for the staircase at the other end of the hallway. The pub seemed nothing like it had been before. Every one of the girls that had been sitting there peacefully drinking and talking were now screaming, crying, or fighting each other. Oscar ducked as a chair flew by, almost hitting him in the head. Chicken stood behind the bar counter. She was trying to calm down two girls that were now atop the bar punching and kicking one another. “What happened?” Twi screamed across the room towards Chicken. It was hard to hear over all of the loud screaming and crashing of objects. Chicken yelled back, not taking her eyes off of the two girls still on the bar. “News just got out that King Jason is dead! It is every girls dream in the kingdom to be with him, so hearing this breaks all of their hearts!” Chicken ducked as a glass mug flew by. The rampage continued on. Windows shattered, chairs were cracked, bodies were hurt, and many hearts were broken. Chicken walked over to the trio, still standing at the bottom of the stairs. “I don’t even know what to do anymore.” She placed her face in her hands. “Would you like a drink?” Oscar asked, trying to boost her mood. “No thank you, I don’t drink.” “Then why do you…” “Own a pub? I opened this place to make people come together and be happy. I’m also a curious woman. People refer to me as the poll doctor. You’d be surprised what kinds of things you can learn at a pub.” She laughed. “Look at this.” She pulled her hands away from her face and looked at the crowd of screaming and fighting girls. “Hmph, so much for coming together.” The door to the pub flew open. For the first time within the hour, silence fell upon the pub. Every girl stopped and turned to see who was standing in the doorway. “Jason isn’t dead,” said the person standing in the doorway. “He would have told me if he did.” All the girls sighed in relief. They sat back down in the few seats that hadn’t been destroyed. The stranger of the doorway walked into the light of the pub. It was Zen Clarke. “How do you know he isn’t dead?” ZBoy asked. “Trust me on this, I just know these things. Mine and Jasey’s heart are one. If he died, I wouldn’t be here right now.” “Uh… ok then.” “Can you take us to him then?” Twi asked. “We need to know what is going on.” Zen nodded her head. “I’ll take you, but you have to be on your highest guard. The entire kingdom is crazy right now. Buildings are on fire, people are dead, and this whole place is a giant mess. Nobody can think straight.” The group and Zen began to head for the door. Twi turned around facing Chicken who was now beginning to clean up the mess. “Would you care to come with us Ms. Chicken?” Chicken looked up from the pile of glass she was sweeping up. “I may catch up to you in a few. I need to make sure everything is ok here first.” Zen’s description of the city had seemed a bit over exaggerated, but she nailed the description right on the dot. Majority of the tall skyscrapers were lit on fire, cars were crashed into one another, people were chasing and fighting one another, and the city was filled with the loud and sick screams of thousands. The group of four was heading towards the glass castle. After the group made it through the psychotic city, they hid behind the many bushes that aligned the outer walls protecting the castle. “It looks like security is budded up,” Twi said scouting the entire castle. There were female guards patrolling from the top of the walls. There were more guards patrolling the outer walls and scouting from the top of the tall castle. Large bulbs of the security lights shot around the giant castle and outer rim. “Security has been ridiculous since the event,” Zen whispered to the group. “How are we supposed to get past all that?” ZBoy said. His voice cracked with a little fear. “Yeah Zen, it is going to take a lot to get past all of,” Oscar gulped, “that.” “Ok, can you all scale a wall over 100 feet tall? Can you run faster than a speeding train? Can you name every single one of Jasey’s favorite foods, games, and romantic interests!?” The group looked at one another wide eyed. “Umm…no,” Oscar answered for the trio. “Well there goes that plan,” Zen said with disappointment and frustration in her tone. “Well, I guess I’ll see you on the other side then!” With this reply, Zen skipped off to another part of the outer wall, disappearing into the darkness of the night. The trio sat there for a few minutes staring towards where Zen had vanished. “Well, what are we supposed to do now?” ZBoy said with anger in his tone. “It is going to be literally impossible to climb that wall. It doesn’t help with the strong security,” Twi said. “Why don’t we just go up to the front gate and ask to go in,” Oscar said. The group, still pretty unhopeful about anything, decided that they would try this idea for the heck of it. They got out of the thick bushes they were hiding behind, and they made their way to the front gate. Oscar went up to the large stone gate. He knocked twice on it. There was a large blast of blinding light as all of the security lights shot down onto the trio. A loud siren also began to go off. “Who dares to try to enter the gate?” boomed a loud feminine voice from atop the wall. “We are the…uh… Adventuring Trio!” Oscar yelled back in the direction from which the voice came from. “Why do you wish to enter?” yelled the deep voice back. “We are here to cure the king!” Twi yelled back. “Well too bad! You can’t come in! Muahahahaha!” There was a slight pause after this comment. Not long after, the lights shot back to their patrolling areas, and the loud siren went silent. At this point though, you could still hear the loud screams from the city not far from the castle. A young girl stood on top of the wall from where the deeply feminine voice had come from. “Hehe, just kidding!” said the girl. “I just love using my deep voice! You may enter!” The young guard giggled. “Well that was easy. Nice thinking Oscar!” said ZBoy. The gates slowly began to open as the group walked more towards them. They entered the entrance courtyard. Many guards still patrolled the inner walls. The group was let in through the front door. The once beautiful foyer was not as beautiful as it was. It was quite messed up like the pub had been. Luckily, it looked like the people had been taken care of. Now, two guards patrolled every doorway of the room. The two guards by the elevator doors were trying to, what looked like, get the glass doors to open. Many servants were to and fro cleaning up the mess. They shot in and out of each doorway. One young maid went up to a doorway, but was stopped by a guard. “ID please,” requested the guard. “Ahh….what?” the servant said. She carried a large pile of towels that looked like she would drop at any moment. “No ID, no entrance to the maintenance closet.” “King Jason never gave us IDs. Can I please just put these…” “Don’t get twitchy with me servant! No ID, no entrance.” “Twitchy! Why, I think I have worked here longer than you ever have!” With frustration she accidently dropped the towels. A few landed on the feet of the guard. “This servant just assaulted me! Banish her at once!” the female guard boomed into the room. Two guards came, each picking her up by one of her arms, and they began to drag her to the door. The maid began to kick and scream. The trio watched as the maid was dragged out of the castle. One of the guards who had been working on the elevator came up to them. “Do you need something?” asked the guard, eyeing the group of misfits. “We are here to see King Jason,” replied Twi. “Well you need a reason to see the king young lady.” What was funny about this remark was that the young guard looked nearly the same age as Twi. “We are doctors,” replied Oscar. “We are here to cure the king.” The guard eyed the group. The trio smiled back at her. The guard shook her head. “It is shocking who people hire to pull off such serious jobs these days. The elevator is broken, so you’ll have to take the stairs.” The guard pointed at a thin door to the right of the elevator. “How many stories up is the throne room?” asked ZBoy. “Ehh, if I remember right about 137, but I’m not sure. It could be double or triple that.” “Well I guess we better get started then,” said Oscar quickly heading for the stairs. Twi and ZBoy looked at one another in awe. They both shrugged and then began to head towards the staircase also. Not only were the stairs exhausting, but they were old and gross. It was heavily noticeable that these stairs hadn’t been used for many years. There were cracks in the old cement stairs. There were creaking noises almost every time you stepped (which was quite odd seeing that they were cement stairs). Spiders and other critters occupied the tall stairwell. When the group was about halfway up the stairwell (about 84 stories) the walls slightly shook and they heard a whizzing noise on the other side of the wall shoot down. “It sounds like the elevator is working again,” said Twi in a ticked off tone. “Why!?” Tears began to fill up in ZBoy’s eyes. “Come on guys! We already made it this far! Adventurers stay positive!” Oscar exclaimed back to them, continuing up the stairs as if he wasn’t tired a bit. About a half-hour later the group finally reached the top. The elevator doors shot open and a very smiley and upbeat servant shot out through them. “Boy, do I love elevators! They are so much easier than walking up stai…” The servant was cut off as the fist of Twi’s pummeled her mouth. The maid fell over unconscious. The throne room was trashed. The throne was knocked over, one of the glass windowed walls was shattered, and the king looked quite messed up. King Jason was sprawled on the ground. He rolled from side to side yelling “DERP DERP DERP Sexy King Roly Poly!” He repeated this to no end. He lied in what looked like a puddle of his own drool. When he wasn’t yelling he was sucking on his pair of sunglasses. “At least we know he isn’t dead,” said ZBoy looking at the king repulsively. “Whoever did this did a good job though,” said Twi eyeing the entire room. “What do you mean?” asked Oscar. “Whoever did this must have known the effects of something happening to the king.” “What do you mean?” “Look at the kingdom. It is in giant turmoil all because of this. It worries me what could happen, or what did happen to the other kingdoms.” Oscar nodded, understanding what Twi was saying. ZBoy squatted in front of Jason. He looked him over, seeing if there was anything noticeable about him. “It looks like this person can fly,” said Twi walking towards the giant shattered window. She walked over towards ZBoy. “Notice anything?” “Not at all. Nothing looks out of the ordinary. He is just… stupid.” ZBoy replied back. “Maybe the person is an alien! They came in and sucked Jason’s brain out. They were all like ‘Yeah, I’m going to eat your brain!’ and then he was like ‘Oh no! DERP DERP’.” Twi and ZBoy ignored Oscar as he continued to act out what may have happened to the king. “Jasey Poo!” yelled Zen as she somehow appeared in the room unnoticed. She ran over to him, bent down, and began to squeeze hug him. He still continued to try to roll around while yelling. Zen closed her eyes as she sat there squeezing the death out of her Jasey. Zen slowly opened her eyes as she stared into Jason’s drool splattered face. She quickly gasped. Pure anger began to fill up in Zen. Twi and ZBoy took a few steps back. “Have you been cheating on me!?” Zen grasped the heart necklace that hung around Jason’s neck. “You’re a dirty, yet loveable pig!” As she said this, Zen yanked on the necklace, breaking the chain. A gust of wind shot through the room. Jason blinked and moaned. “Why am I wet?” He noticed Zen still with one arm attached to him. “What are you doing here!?” Jason seemed almost frightened. He was about to snap his fingers, but Zen interrupted. “Don’t do this Jasey. You know we are meant to be together.” “Too bad! You need to follow the rules the judge ordered!” He snapped his fingers. “No don’t..!” but Zen had vanished in thin air. “What did you do with her?” asked ZBoy, sounding concerned. “I banned her to a place far away from here.” Jason got up and stretched. “Now who the heck are you people?” With this, he got in a structured stance as if he was holding a gun, but instead he had his hands in a ready to snap position. “No no , no need to ban,” said Twi throwing her hands up, ZBoy did the same. “We had come here to help you. We heard you were in bad news bears.” “Well that is too bad!” Jason stepped towards them. Twi and ZBoy cringed, but nothing happened. “That gets them every time,” Jason said laughing to himself. Oscar began to laugh. “That is so cool,” he said, walking up to Jason. “How did you do that?” “All kings have this power. They can ban people. It is one of the special few.” “You mean there are others?” Oscar’s jaw was dropped. “Hmph, of course,” Jason began. “We can ban people, we can sense people who are in the same room as us, we can reward medals, we can change the weather, and we can pry money from peoples’ innocent hands. We can also change what people say. It is awesome. So tell me, why are you here?” The group explained to him their entire story. How they met, hearing the rumor from DerfSlerf, and the city becoming crazy. Jason nodded. “You know, things like this normally I would leave to the other kings to handle, but this seems serious. Katie seems to have gained a lot of power since I had last seen her. She needs to be stopped before permanent damage occurs.” “Who is Katie?” Oscar asked. “Katie is a long time member of this land. She was always an innocent girl. She would joke around at times, but this is more serious. I don’t think this is a joke because, well, I am not laughing. I need someone to check in on the other kings immediately.” “We can do it,” said Twi. “I’m looking for my sister, so going from kingdom to kingdom would be perfect.” “Zboy and I have been looking for adventure too, so this would be fun!” Oscar said. “You know, this is really danger… ahh whatever. That means I won’t have to put myself in danger!” Jason began to smirk. “This is what I need you to do. I need you to go to each kingdom. You need to check in on each king. If something is wrong, then do whatever you can to fix it.” “What do we get out of it?” Twi asked. “Umm, I don’t know the feeling of greatness when you save the kingdom?” The group stared blankly at him, waiting for him to say it was a joke. “Fine, I’ll get you whatever you want.” Jason said, beginning to feel awkward from being stared at. “Can I lock you in a cage and treat you as my pet?” Twi asked smiling. Jason looked at her abnormally. “Umm, I guess if that is really what you want.” “We’ll talk rewards later. Which kingdom should we start…” The door that lead to the staircase burst open. Chicken came walking in, panting. Her hair was undone, and her once pretty red dress was torn in many places. “Jason…you idiot…you have….no freaking idea….what I just went through.” Jason stared at her in disbelief. He snapped. Chicken resided the words exactly how she had said them before, except there seemed to be changes in what she said. “Jason…you sexy beast…you are….so freaking hot… I love you so much.” After Chicken said this, she clasped her hands over her mouth. She then lowered her hands, clasped her fists, and then stormed off to another part of the room, murmuring under her breathe. “Thank you for the compliment love.” Jason then looked back at the trio. “What were you asking?” “Which kingdom should we go to first, and how are we supposed to get there?” Twi asked, this time not being interrupted. “King Saffy is next in the line of power, so I would say you should go to Wild Thing Forest. It is completely opposite of this kingdom far south. It will take a few hours to get there by foot.” Jason replied to them. “By foot!? Why can’t you supply a plane or something for us to get there?” ZBoy yelled back. Twi and Oscar also began to yell back. There was a loud crash as a glass wall shattered. A giant door to what looked like a blimp was implanted through the shattered glass. The doors opened, and an ambitious and familiar fellow walked out through them. “Well hello whiny whores,” said the boy. “Did somebody say they needed a flying ship,” the voice of Chrisgopher boomed throughout the room. Why did Crisgopher appear? How are the other kings? What on earth did Chicken go through!? Chapter 7: Off to the Kingdom in the Woods After eating and resting up for a bit, the group decided that it was time to begin heading for Wild Thing Forest, the southern wooded area run by King Saffy. After a lot of arguing, Captain Christopher finally agreed with Jason to move his airship to the front courtyard. When they were all ready, the group of three made their way downstairs to the front courtyard. Chicken and Jason met with them. The courtyard was somewhat still a mess, but it was much cleaner than the night before. The morning sun had begun to rise at this time, lighting up the ground. “Well thank you for allowing us to stay,” said Oscar. “Tell the chefs they make some pretty darn good tacos.” He smirked at Jason while rubbing his stomach. Twi looked at Oscar and smirked while rolling her eyes. “You should come with us Chicken,” she began. “It would be nice to have another girl around.” “I would love to join you all, but Jason and I have a lot to do to fix up the mess that Katie the Witch made of our kingdom.” Jason, standing next to Chicken gave her a disgusted look and said “I’m not doing squat!” Chicken smacked his arm. She redirected the attention be to Twi. “I’m sure we’ll meet again once everything is cleared up. Please be careful.” The beautiful girl went up to Oscar, Twi, and ZBoy and hugged each of them. After Jason finished rubbing the part of his arm Chicken hit, he looked up at the adventurers. He snapped his fingers. On each of their upper clothing, a small golden medal appeared. It was a bright golden. Engraved into it were the letters “RS”. It sparkled in the sunlight. “This medal should get you into wherever you need. It shows you are in true trust with the kings of the land. It should make things a lot easier.” Jason smirked at each of them nodding. “Excuse me!” exclaimed Christopher. He had been standing by the doors of the airship the entire time. He pointed to his wrist. “We don’t have time to dilly dally. We need to go now!” The group made their last goodbyes to Jason and Chicken. They then turned around and walked towards the ship. Christopher nodded as both ZBoy and Oscar entered the ship. He stopped Twi. “Don’t try doing anything funny on my ship. You hear me?” Christopher said with a stern look on his face. “I don’t normally let people like you onto here.” “What do you mean?” Twi asked. You could tell she was ticked off. “Well, you’re not my type.” Christopher then leaned back folding his arms and smirking. Twi, disgusted and angry, clutched her fist and threw it at Christopher. He caught her by the wrist tightly. “I’m serious,” he said. “Don’t even try anything.” He let go of her wrist. Twi quickly pulled back. With her opposite hand, she grabbed her wrist and began to rub it. Christopher’s reflexes were quick, even quicker than Twi’s. For the first time in a while, nervousness crept into her. Christopher turned around and walked into the ship. Twi followed, very cautious. Everyone ended up staying in the control room except for Twi who had went up to her room. “The Godly Gopher” was the name of the airship. It was a fresh and modern airship. It had three floors. The bottom floor contained the entrance. Branching off from the main entrance foyer/room were many doors that led to storage and cargo. The group was strictly told by Christopher that the cargo holds were strictly forbidden to be accessed. A flight of metal stairs led up to the second floor: the control room. The control room took up the entire floor. A vast amount of windows lined the walls. On the front side of a room was a wall sized window. Sitting in front f it was a large control table with a gazillion buttons and levers and wheels. The third floor contained the many bedrooms where the crew and guests stayed. The crew of the ship consisted of a young boy and a large black bear. Their names were Lenyo and Noviwan. “This is an amazing ship!” Zboy said to Christopher, standing in the middle of the control room. His eyes wandered around looking at all the many switches. “The Godly Gopher sure is something, isn’t she?” Christopher said. “Off to the Wild Thing Kingdom we go.” He walked up to the control station. He hit a few buttons and pulled a few levers. You could hear a few sputters and cricks as the many gears of the ship begun to run. The ship slowly flew up into the air, and began to move straight on. “Hey Christopher?” ZBoy asked. “Hm?” Christopher asked. He hit a few more buttons and then turned around. “Lenyo take control.” The young boy, who was chilling in a chair in the corner playing with his fingers, got up from the chair, nodded, and then walked to the front control area. “What do you need ZBoy?” Christopher asked. “I was wondering how you had found us. I mean, how did you know we needed an airship?” “I had overheard you all talking in The DerfSlerf. I knew immediately you would need an awesomely sick person in your group, so I thought ‘Eh, why not?’ You all talked about how you were going to head to Cool Guy Kingdom, so I knew where I had to find you. I’m an adventurer you know.” “Are they adventurers?” ZBoy pointed at Lenyo, who was beginning to have bad news bears controlling the ship, and Noviwan who was lying in a corner sleeping. Christopher looked at them. He laughed. “They may be adventurers, but they aren’t as cool as us.” He patted ZBoy on the shoulder while smiling. He then walked on over to the front of the ship, pushed over Lenyo, and retook control. “You ok here ZBoy?” Oscar asked. “I’m going to go check up on Twi.” “Yeah, yeah go ahead. I’m alright here.” Oscar nodded. He walked over to the metal staircase the lead up to the small balcony that descended over the control room. After walking on the balcony, he walked across the catwalk that lead to the small hallway of bedrooms. Oscar walked up to the third door on the right and knocked. “You ok Twi? You haven’t talked since we got on the ship.” A voice from inside called out. “Yeah, everything is ok. You can come in.” Oscar put his hand on the handle, and slowly turned it. The bedroom was really dark. The only light crept in from the sides of the curtains that currently covered the one window in the room. From what Oscar could tell, Twi was sitting on her bed. In her left hand she held a candle. With her pointer finger on her right hand, she continually pointed at the candle wick. Her eyes never looked away from the tip of the wick. Every time she pointed at it, she would let out a frustrated moan as if she was expecting something. “Are you sure there is nothing wrong?” Oscar asked. “I feel weak. People can take me down.” “We all have our weaknesses. You saw how you took ZBoy and I down in the forest. I mean, you’re a descendant of Ignis!” Oscar looked flustered. “Well, you and ZBoy are just weak.” At the thought of insulting Oscar, she quickly added on “No offence.” Oscar smirked, even though he was still a little insulted. “What do you mean though?” “All descendants are supposed to be able to control the power of the mighty being they descend from: Ignis or Sephia. There is one descendant every generation that is known to protect the land. Ignis holds the power of strength and fire, while Sephia holds the power of serenity and life.” “And you know you’re the descendent? Who told you?” “This is where I am going to sound crazy. Nobody ever told me, but as a small child I always knew it. It was one of those things that I just always felt so positive about. Please believe me.” Oscar looked at her. You could tell he didn’t look to positive. He sat down next to her on the bed. “So you were trying to light that candle?” “Yes. I just wish there was someone who knew the truth, someone who knew the answers I need.” Oscar looked over at Twi and smiled. “Well, we can look while we save the kings.” “Thanks Osc-“ Twi was cut off as the entire ship shook. She and Oscar fell onto the floor. Oscar got up, bracing himself against the wall. “Are you alright!?” With his free hand, Oscar grabbed Twi’s hand and pulled her up. He still pushed himself against the wall as the ship shook again. Holding on to Twi’s hand, Oscar pulled open her door and ran out. They ran out of the small hallway and onto the catwalk. Everyone was clutching on to a wall or chair. Christopher stood handling the controls. “Is it her?” yelled Oscar down to everyone. It was hard to hear him as the ship shook yet another time. “I’m ready to kick some witch butt!” Twi yelled. She pulled her wrist out of Oscar’s clutch. Without taking a look away from the front window and controls, Christopher replied back. “He is nothing compared to Katie. He is much, much worse.” “He can do more than making the kings lose their minds?” ZBoy said with true confusion back. “Well, uh, no, but he is still really evil!” “Captain has been trying to defeat this guy for quite a few years!” Lenyo yelled to ZBoy. “He floats around the land doing cruel things to people,” Noviwan the large bear turned and nodded at ZBoy with wide eyes. Christopher turned away from the controls to look his crew in the eyes. Fury crept into his face. “Whose arch nemesis is his?” The boy and the bear looked at each other. The boy Lenyo spoke up. “He is you-“ He was cut off. “Yes, he is mine! So how about when people ask questions about him, I answer them?” Christopher’s face began to turn red. “But, I thought tha-“ “Yes, you thought. You should have left it at that and not done. Go to your room; you’re not needed.” “But we are under attack!” “I have new friends to help me.” “You’re ridiculous Chris!” Lenyo stormed off to the stairs and across the catwalk to his room. Oscar and Twi had made their wat down below to meet up with everyone. After awkwardness cleared out, Oscar spoke up. “What evil things does he do?” “He refers to him as The Hatter. Anyone who ‘dares wear a better hat than him’ gets punished.” “What’s his name?” ZBoy asked. There was another loud crash as the ship shook. Then all went silent. One of the buttons on the control panel began to flash. Christopher walked up to it and clicked it. A thin dark screen fell down from the ceiling covering up the front window. It flashed and buzzed. As the picture cleared out a close up of an eye appeared on the screen. “Is this, is this working?” said the European voice from the screen. The person backed away from the camera revealing his full face. It was a young boy. He wore fine clothing. The thing that attracted the most attention was the large top hat that sat on his head. “Way to mess up with the camera Hasfusel!” Christopher yelled at the boy on screen. “Way to mess up with the camera Hasfusel!” The boy mocked what Christopher had said. It sounded nothing like Christopher. “What do you want?” Christopher asked. “I thought we cleared everything up the other day.” “No, we didn’t. My robot army and I have come to seek revenge.” “Well that’s too bad because you aren’t getting any!” “Very well, we will begin to attack you then.” Hasfusel did a double take as he noticed ZBoy, Oscar, and Twi. “I see you have captured beings.” “They are my teammates.” “Aww, that is too bad. That means I have to kill them along with you.” With this statement Hasfusel looked down and away from the camera. The sound of a clicking button went off. More than a dozen robots shot down through the ceiling. At least two robots stood by each person in the ship. The robots were basically giant top hats with metal arms and legs coming out of them. “Farewell lovelies!” The top of Hasfusel’s hat popped open. A small claw popped out holding a cup of tea. Hasfusel grabbed it and began to sip it as the metal claw retracted into his hat. “Now how do I turn this blasted thing off?” The screen that had once shown Hasfusel’s face quickly turned into static. Although the robots looked stupid, the adventurers and the crew of The Godly Gopher were in for a true battle. Chapter 8: The Battle with The Hatter The giant Noviwan pounced up into the air. He smashed himself down into the ground shaking and breaking the many robots around him. With his claws he slashed at the robots. The wires of the robots would come out of the claw marks. They would spark while the robot would yell in agony before making a small eruption and falling over. The robots continued to fall through the holes they were making in The Godly Gopher’s ceiling. ZBoy and Oscar were back to back fighting off with their fists, Christopher used a combination of his fists and pistol, Noviwan would jump and claw the robots, and Twi was hopping from robot to robot stabbing them on the top and pulling their wired chips out. Lenyo soon realized what had been going on so he was fighting the many robots up on the catwalk. “They keep coming! We won’t be able to last!” ZBoy yelled over to Christopher. Christopher pulled out his duel pistols and shot two robots. He spun them in his hands and put them in the holders connected to his waist. “Think you can hold them for a bit longer!?” “We’ll try!” yelled Oscar. He pulled out a taco he had been saving for later, throwing it into one of the robots faces. Christopher nodded back. He ran up the staircase and onto the catwalk. He jumped up onto the railings balancing himself momentarily. A robot lunged at him. Christopher hopped onto the top of the robot. The robot sprang up, flinging Christopher into the air towards the ceiling. Christopher grabbed onto the edge of one of the holes. He pulled himself up and out onto the room of the ship. He kept himself low as the wind blew. Robots continued to jump from the opening near the back of The Hatter’s giant ship. Christopher pulled out a grenade that had been hanging from his belt. He clicked a small button on the top of it. A red light began to blink slowly. It began to blink faster and faster as it got closer to detonating. Right as it was about to go off, Christopher through it down at his feet. He jumped up right as it went off. The explosion of the grenade threw Christopher up into the air. He grabbed the edge of the opening that the robots had been jumping out of. Christopher pulled himself up into the ship. The robots didn’t even notice Christopher as he stood in between them. They stood lined up, and every few seconds each row would move out as the robots near the front would turn on and then jump out. “You programmed these cans the wrong way Hasfusel,” Christopher said to himself. He walked towards the back of the room where a large lever was planted. Christopher pulled the lever down. All the robots in the giant room feel over like dominos. He brushed his hands. “Too easy.” Christopher pushed open the double doors next to the lever. A long hallway lead all the way down to the other end of the ship: the control room. The hallway was carpeted. Candles hung from the walls to give light to the long hallway. Doors aligned the walls all the way to the double set at the other end of the hallway. There were statues and paintings of Hasfusel decorating the space. “Creepy.” Christopher ran down the long hallway all the way to the other end. He pushed open the double doors into the giant control room. Hasfusel turned away from the giant front window to look at Christopher. “I knew you were coming,” he said with his accent. “I’m going to end this now,” Christopher yelled. He pulled out his duel pistols. Hasfusel’s face didn’t change in emotion. “Those can’t kill me,” Has said. He began to laugh. “Oh and why not!?” Christopher boomed back, getting ready to pull the triggers. “Because you’re out of ammo lovely!” The Hatter opened up his hand as a bunch of bullets fell out of it. Christopher gasped. He pulled the triggers, nothing happened. He pulled them rapidly hoping something would happen. He put his pistols back and formed his faced into a scowl. Christopher yelled as he ran across the control room towards Hasfusel. Hasfusel didn’t move. Christopher lunged at him. Hasfusel jumped up. He was about to come down onto Christopher, when Christopher rolled immediately out of the way. Christopher spun his legs around knocking over The Hatter. Hasfusel flipped up off of the ground. He threw a punch with his right hand, but Chris grabbed it. He threw another punch but Chris grabbed it too. The small claw flew up from Hasfusel’s hat. It flicked Christopher in the nose. Christopher fell back grabbing his nose from the agony that the claw had made. Hasfusel began to rapidly laugh. “You will always keep trying, but I will always win!” Christopher yelled as loud as he could. He sprang up and lunged at Hasfusel. He grabbed him by the head. He threw him to the ground. Holding both sides of his head, Christopher began to smash the back of it into the ground. Christopher lifted up his fist, just about to nail him in the face. Hasfusel’s head fell sideways. A robotic voice came from Hasfusel. “PLEASE INSERT TWO DOUBLE A BATTERIES.” Christopher looked down in confusion. “Hahaha! Did you really think it would be that easy?” Christopher looked up at the front window. Hasfusel was on the other side, sitting on a a miny flying device. He held a cup of tea in his hand. “As I said, I always win,” he lifted up his glass and then took a sip of it. The vehicle zoomed off. “God darn it!” Christopher yelled in pure fury. He shoved his fist down into the robotic Hasfusel below him. The face cracked inwards as a bunch of cords fell out from behind. Will Christopher ever catch Hasfusel? will the group ever get to Wild Thing Forest? Will the holes in the ship ever be fixed? Will Oscar eer get over killing a robot with his left over taco? Chapter 9: The One Who Knows All The Godly Gopher’s crew and the Adventurers Three all occupied the control room. After taking all the valuables from The Hatter’s ship and cleaning up, everyone thought it would be nice to sit down, relax, and have a good meal. Everyone was sitting or standing around a large metal table that was placed near the back of the control room. Lenyo climbed down from a ladder that was standing under one of the now boarded up holes the robots had created. “That should be the last of them,” he said as he wiped his hands against one another. He looked over at Christopher who had his face planted in his hands. “You did everything you could Captain.” He walked over to pat him on the back Chris glared up. Lenyo immediately took a step back, and then sat down at his seat. Noviwan the bear walked over from a small kitchen on the back wall holding a tray of dishes. He walked around the table placing a dish in front of each person. He placed the biggest platter in front of his own seat. Everyone began to dig in to their lunches. Oscar looked at the large pile of collectibles the crew had taken from The Hatter’s ship before destroying it. “Do you guys collect a lot of things on your adventures?” Oscar asked as he picked up another taco from his dish. “Well sure,” Christopher finally spoke up after the long hour of silence. “We find furniture, gold, artifacts…” “And people,” Lenyo cut Christopher off. Christopher shot another glare at Lenyo, this time looking even more serious. “Well sure,” ZBoy said. “I’m sure you would meet a lot of people while exploring Ranch Storia.” “Well sure we meet them, but we also collect them like treasure.” The Adventurers Three’s eyes widened. They all shot a look at one another, and braced themselves as if they were going to get up and run. “You mean, you guys kidnap people?” Zboy asked for the group. Christopher let out a deep breath as he looked away from Lenyo and at the group members. “We don’t kidnap people,” he assured them. Noviwan looked up from his dish with a mouth full of food. “Then why do we have someone locked up in storage?” The trio grabbed the table, ready to jump from their seats. “Would you all calm down please?” Christopher asked. “If we wanted to capture you all, we would have done it already. We are all friends here, so please relax.” “Then please explain why there is someone locked up in your storage,” said Oscar calmly. Christopher let out another long breath. “Alright,” he began. “As you know, we explore all the nooks and crannies of this land. You would be shocked by the things you could find. Well this uh thing we found was really special.” “Is it human?” Twi asked quietly. She had a mixture of nervousness and concern on her tongue. “We think so,” Christopher said. “He’s a petite little thing. Definitely not from around here, because he really doesn’t speak our language well.” “So he is a foreigner. Why wouldn’t you just leave him?” ZBoy asked. “Like Christopher said, this thing is special. From what we can understand, he claims to ‘Know everything’,” Lenyo said with excitement. “He’s a cute little thing.” Twilight Wanderer and Oscar shared a glance with one another. They were both thinking the same thing. If Twi could meet with this fellow, she could learn the things she wished to know. “Remember though everyone!” Chris said holding his pointer finger up. “Storage is out of bounds. Sorry.” Twi let out a low groan that no one seemed to notice. “And with that last statement, I am going to go rest. We should be approaching Wild Thing Forest within an hour.” With this final statement Christopher got up from the table, and then walked towards the stairs that would lead him to the bedrooms. “I’m going to go rest for a bit too if you don’t mind,” Lenyo said as he saluted the group and got up from his chair. “Chris is going to make me move all this stuff to the storage area.” He referred to the pile from The Hatter’s ship. Twi knew what she had to do. She had to go into storage to find this thing that claimed to know everything. With Chris and Lenyo disappearing, she knew this would be a perfect chance too. Who is this know-it-all? Will Twi be able to talk to it? Will the group make it safely to Wild Thing Forest? Chapter 10: Solved Mysteries It had been unbelievable that The Godly gopher had been as loud as it had been only about two hours earlier. By now, the ship almost seemed dead. Christopher and Lenyo had gone to their rooms to rest. ZBoy and Oscar had gone to one of their rooms to start planning an idea of what they would do once they reached Wild Thing Forest. Noviwan was at the back kitchen of the control room cleaning the dishes from the meal. Twilight Wanderer cautiously walked across the clanking catwalk. She didn’t want to seem like she was doing something she shouldn’t. She walked down the spiral metal staircase. Without saying a word, she walked over to the set of doors that lead to the staircase that lead to the entrance foyer. She walked up to the doors, and placed her hand on the handle ready to pull it open. “Where are you going?” Noviwan had noticed her. She cautiously turned around, still trying to act normal. “Nowhere out of the ordinary. I’m just going to go down to the foyer to relax. It’s too loud up here.” “But everyone is resting. The only noise in here is the water from the sink.” “Um, well…” She thought. “The scrubbing of the pans hurts my ears. You know, I have sensitive ears.” Noviwan stared at her for a moment before responding. “Well alright then, have fun relaxing.” Twi let out a relaxed breath as she smiled. She turned around, pulled open the doors and went down into the foyer. She looked at all of the many doors that lead to storage. She didn’t know which one to go through. After doing eenie meenie miney moe, she knew which door she would go through. Before going in, Twi grabbed one of the hanging lanterns. She held it in front of her as she pushed open the chosen door. The storage area was dark. She could barely see anything even with the light from the lantern. There were many boxes piled on top of one another everywhere, making the walking space tight and crammed. It was like a maze of boxes. Twi was more worried about being able to find her way out than being able to find the know it all. The musty smell of old collections made being crammed in between boxes even more uncomfortable. Twi felt like she had been in there for quite a long time, making her nervous that she would get caught. Just as Twi was about to lose hope, turn around, and go back, she saw a small light a bit further down the box made hallway. In the light of the hanging lantern, she saw the shadow of what looked like a petite being. The being was tied up to a chair. It sat their laughing out loud. Twi ran towards the light. She was so focused to get to it. She hadn’t even realized that she had sprained her ankle on a corner of a box. She saw it, and it saw her. It continued to laugh. It wasn’t laughing in frustration, but it just looked plain happy. It looked like a he, and he was definitely human. He was a petite little boy. Twi moved a smaller box over in front of the tied up boy. She sat down on it, making her almost eye level with him. “Um, hello,” Twi said. She wasn’t sure what kind of a response she would get back. “Greetings best!” The boy said after he had finally stopped laughing. “My name is Twilight Wanderer. Do you have a name?” “Wanderer Twilight. Name my Harvest. Awesome?” He was very upbeat. He never stopped smiling. “I don’t know what your harvest is though. Oh! Your name is Harvest! Yes, that is very awesome.” Harvest nodded at her, still smiling. “So is it true,” Twi asked, “that you know everything?” “Know I yes everything.” “Alright then.” It was a bit hard to get what he was saying. So many questions began to go through her head. “Do you mind if I ask you questions then?” Harvest nodded at her. “Where is my sister at?” “Live sister shadow in.” Twi took this in. It was like a puzzle. You had to unscramble everything that he was saying. Shadow lives in sister? Sister lives in shadow? She didn’t have all the time in the world though, so she continued on to the next question. “Is she alive?” “Alive sister.” Relief shot through her. She thought up the next question. “Am I,” she put her hand on her chest, “the descendent of Ignis, The Harvest God?” Harvest stared down into her. His bright eyes shot into her. He didn’t blink, and neither did she. She felt awkward. The silence dragged on. All of a sudden, he blinked and shook his head. He looked at her calmly. “Ignis descendent yes.” Twi wanted to jump up and down, but she had only a few more things to ask, and she couldn’t waste any time. She thought of a question she found could give a lot of help. “Is there anything else I should know?” Harvest looked away. Twi could tell he was thinking himself. He looked up at her. “Descendents know to.” “Descendents know to what? What do they know to do?” She stood up. She wanted to shake him, but she didn’t want to hurt the petite little thing. She stepped back, regaining control over herself. “Thank you.” Twi pulled out her knife from its case. She walked around to the back of Harvest’s chair. She sliced in front of her, and all of the tied rope simply fell to the ground around him. Harvest hopped up from his chair. He walked up to Twi and hugged her around the waist. Twi pat him on the head. “What the helk do you think you’re doing!?” Twi’s eyes widened as she shot a glance up at Christopher. Harvest began to laugh. He hopped onto his chair and then onto Christopher’s head. He shot off of Christopher’s head and bolted for it. He continued to laugh happily. Christopher ran after him yelling really unhappily. Twi put her knife into it’s holder, and ran after them. She almost tripped over a few times running through the dark. She could just barely see the back of Christopher. Luckily when she did drop a little far behind, she just followed the extremely loud and hysterical laughs of harvest. After a while of running, Twi reached the foyer. She leaned over onto her knees catching her breathe. Christopher was standing near her pointing at Harvest. Harvest was standing by the double metal doors. “Don’t even think about it!” Christopher screamed. Harvest laughed extremely loud as he opened the double doors. Large and strong winds shot through the foyer. Twi ran over to the stairs and held on to the railing. She gasped as Harvest spit his tongue at Christopher, smiled and waved at Twi, and then jumped out of the ship. Christopher let out an earsplitting yell. “You!” he pointed at Twi. His eyes were giant and bloodshot. He grabbed her by the arm. Twi did whatever she could to break away, but she couldn’t. While crouching and keeping his balance he pulled her to the door. Hanging on the wall near the doors where parachutes. He grabbed one of them and forced it into her arms. He blocked her from getting away from the open door. “You can’t do this!” Twi yelled. “I warned you that if you pulled anything off, I kick you off. You made me lose one of the rarest things we had ever found.” “What about ZBoy and Oscar? They’ll question my disappearance.” “I’m sure they really won’t care.” “I know they will! Now let me go back on!” “That’s not happening. Just be happy I gave you the parachute.” With this final statement, he pushed her. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) You should have said "Oscar came out of the small turtle pond with water dripping down his rock-hard abs" haha!! That's what the scene felt like to me!
Anyways, this is really good, ZBoy. I wanna read more! I think I know who the girl might be. And let's shut that gate! |

I really enjoyed writing this chapter! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did! I have also updated the first post with this chapter.
Chapter 2: Of Godly Descent “Oscar, it is getting late. |

Don't worry Saffy, the four great kings will be mentioned in the next chapter. Each king is going to have their fame when the adventurers visit their kingdoms. :) |

I do believe this story is going rather nicely, Mr. ZBoy. :3 At least nice enough for me to actually say anything, that is.
By what you've written so far, I can't imagine how I'd be written in yet. :\ |
