Anyone else read/watched any Gantz? It's this fairly graphic story about people on their deathbeds being given a second chance by fighting against aliens in this messed up space-game. I won't give any spoilers here, not that I know myself what's going on. The story seems kinda bland at first, and there are moments where you might be like "oh, ain't that creative", but it has some really interesting character development, and doesn't shy away from death much like Battle Royale. I don't recommend this for anyone who has messed-up dreams or cannot deal with blood/gore, or soft-core activity and nudity... lets just say people under 18, so I don't get in bad news bears. Around all that, you have a fairly fast-paced story that can really build a knot in your chest 'cause you never know when someone important may suddenly meet their end.
I finished the current archive a few years back, and left things on hold until there was a solid buffer before I went back to reading it. I'm a manga fan myself (prefer the art, and controlling the speed I can read it), and that's how I've been enjoying it. Even in that form, do I get rather shocked when something very big happens. If you want to know where I've been reading it, just send me a comment or something. I feel kinda uncomfortable knowing I could be sharing it with a bunch of 11 year olds. |
