Alright, here is the deal. I plugged my Wii into my VCR and turned it on, I got audio, but no video. I then plugged in my PS3 to my VCR and it turned on just fine, I then tried my Wii again, and still no Video, does anyone know what is wrong? Should I go try and find a new Audio/Video cord?

FIRST QUESTION:
Is the video (yellow wire, I think) plugged in? More importantly, is it plugged in the right place? If not, I don't think there's an alternative. And if you use one of those HDMI things, there's nothing you can do. |

HDMI is some new wire for all the newer stuff. It has the same plug that goes into the Wii, but it's just one thing going into the TV. Mostly only new TVs have the HDMI thing.
Also, most gamestores have cheap Wii yellow, white, and red wires. Edit: OH, and if it's anything like the N64 (Which it's wires worked on the Gamecube,) maybe you could try to see if your GC cables would work. |

Edited my last post, try the GC wires if you have them.

Did you perhaps plug the yellow cable into the output socket on your VCR (I'm assuming you're using RCA cables).
This might be trivial, but maybe you could try plugging directly into your TV set. |

I thought about plugging it directly into my TV, I've never done it before. But my PS3 cables work fine when plugged into the same exact spot on the VCR...

Well I guess we can conclude that either your video cable is malfunctioning, or your Wii's video output is.

But aren't the Video and Audio output the same?

But aren't the Video and Audio output the same? It's the same cable (RCA) but the signals are isolated, I believe. You have your Red and White for Left/Right audio, and the Yellow for video. Sure they're part of the same cable, but the individual circuits aren't in contact. |

I tried the Gamecube wires, and they don't fit the Wii, so I am going to go to GameStop tomorrow and see if they have a Wii cable... If that doesn't work, what could I do?

I'd bring your Wii to the store and ask if you could test a set of their cables (They might not be so accomodating, God knows some GameStops can't stand Wii gamers - if not maybe bring it to a friend's). If the problem persists it's probably best to send your Wii to Nintendo for repairs. Fortunately Nintendo is renowned for their repair service, and often they'll repair your system free of charge even if the warranty has expired.
You should just plug them into your TV? If the PS3 works through the exact same inputs on his VCR, his Wii should also. Because of this fact we can eliminate several possibilities such as, bad vcr, bad tv, bad channel, etc... |

My Wii was working fine last night, it's really odd...

I'm friends with the people that work at my local GameStop, so that shouldn't be a problem. |

It's odd, but it's explainable. Things break. Usually not Nintendo things, but even the best manufacturing processes yield flaws now and again.
