The weather's getting colder now, and for some it's even snowing. So, what changes to your attire will you be making this season? What winter wear are you looking forward to pulling out and using again? How will your outfit change throughout the season?

As with last winter I will be wearing a long black pea coat and black boots. It took me a long while to find exactly what I wanted last year. Combined I spent about $300 on the set, and I'm quite proud of my purchase. It goes well with a lot of what I already have now and it certainly looks nicer than a regular winter jacket and toque. At the moment I need to go out and find a black headband, since I recently lost mine. But yeah, I quite love what I wear in the winter and have been looking forward to this season for a while now.

Also, does anyone find it weird for a male to be wearing a headband? I never thought anything odd of it. I certainly can't look fashionable with a toque. A headband does the job of covering my ears while still showing my hair. Yet, some people seem to find headband feminine in a way which seeems very strange to me. As well, it seems near impossible to actually find a plain black headband all of a sudden. What's up with that?

I'll see about getting a picture shortly. The ones I have from Ubisoft came out really bad.

Hm... well, "winter" here isn't exactly the "winter" people up north experience, though it does get plenty cold. Despite our warm summers (I often get told it's not warm, but rather "freaky hot"... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) ), and our reputation for having warm weather most of the year, Texas has pretty nasty winters. We may not get several feet of snow, or even snow at all, but we get extreme chill, freezing rain, and icy sleet in its place. That tends to lead to a rather nasty combo that's hard to dress for - common winter coats are just too big and bulky, and fleece jackets and the like aren't enough to keep you warm. Personally, I just wear a couple of long-sleeved shirts over long-johns and wear a hoodie over it all. I tend to favor my knee-high boots during winter as well - they're nice and cozy. Aside from that, I don't really use much... maybe put on a pair of gloves if I know I'm going to be outside for a while... but that's it.

And, um... when you say "headband" just what are you talking about, anyway? I've never heard of one being used as winterwear... :S

Perhaps I could be using a better word. It's just a band that goes around your head to cover your ears mostly.

Oh. One of those. Yeah, I've seen those before. They're not too popular where I live.

I don't see how one of those could be misconstrued as feminine though. I don't know a single fashion-minded woman that would put one on. They'd rather suffer through the cold with silly little earmuffs and hats that don't actually serve the purpose they were made for. >:/ Granted, these same women are stupid enough to go outside wearing a short dress and tights in 30 degree weather because it "looks fashionable". It's obvious to me that their sanity has long since left them, so I don't know if it's really proper to take them into consideration.

Anyway, I don't think you should worry about it. Regardless of what people seem to think, it doesn't look all that feminine. You're good to go in my books.

Oh no, I'm not worrying about it. I think it looks good and it keeps my ears warm, so that's all I care about. I was just curious why it's supposedly considered to be feminine. I'm disappointed I can't find one right now.

Well, I have two winter coats, one a regular Columbian winter jacket that's red but my favourite coat is a black bomber's jacket with the biggest line of faux fur on the hood that you've ever seen in your life. It's warm and I seem to get more 'looks' when I wear it.

And... Two pairs of boots. I have black leather boots {go up to almost the knee} I bought last year with a heel and then I just bought some brown boots with a smaller wedge heel that you don't notice on the outside. Same size pretty much but they were on sale, look good, comfortable and I can play outside with my dog with these ones whereas the leather ones I couldn't.

As for the headband, I think it's fine for some guys. Some guys it makes them look more feminine but a lot of guys can pull it off.

I managed to find a cheap black headband yesterday. I haven't worn it yet, but it should work. Yay.

And it's finally snowing now! :D I can soon wear my boots.

I've been wearing my boots ever since it started raining and getting kind of muddy out. The only regular shoes I have are a pair of flats which are too pretty and expensive to get ruined in the mud, and the running shoes which are stained from a new pair of jeans that rubbed off on them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaeyes.gif) , grease stains from work and the bottoms are covered in candy from work. Ugh.

A series of different things. I have a brown peacoat for milder days, and I love it. I put a very unique cameo brooch on the collar. X] Other than that, I've busted out the sweaters, coats with fur hoods, and leather jackets. I'm considering boots, but I don't know. I find them a bit clunky, and I already move slow enough. Think I might wear a headband, but it's really not necessary, because I'm at school for 8 hours. :/ Gloves and scarfs galore, and ski vests. Weee, I hope I stay warm. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

Anyway, to Saffy, I think a headband would look fine on you. It's unisex, in my opinion. And...peacoats rock. You win major points for that. :D

I put on my winter tires. I'm still wearing the same boots I've worn for the past 5 months. Wearing my toque.

Since the Fall weather began I've been wearing my jacket every day and that's about it. I've been thinking of adding a few other things that I've always thought about buying but never gotten around to. This is mostly an excuse to myself to buy a new hat.

I've still been wearing hoodies and caps to school, but I can't keep it up much longer. It felt like ten degrees with the windchill yesterday.

I love peacoats and wanted to buy one but couldn't find any that I really wanted, or didn't cost waaay too much. I love anyone who wears them, or bomber jackets are also a favourite.

I may take a picture eventually... Maybe.

I have a white scarf that I sometimes wear but whenever I wear it, it seems to make people think I'm much older than I am and even got hit on by some very old guy once with it on haha. I also have a purpley-blueish scarf that my nana knit me which looks very good. My nana is amazing at that kind of stuff. :)

I don't go out too much, so I'm usually fine with my jacket and sneakers. If I am out for a walk, I'll wear the black and white checkered scarf my sister knit for me, and the mittens my aunt knit (which are black and magenta striped). Hoping to find a good hat soon <3
