I'm just wondering why if you guys haven't even played HM why are you on an HM forum. This place isn't just for chatting, the whole point of it is for HM fans, not to invite your friends when you could easily talk on MSN or the phone...

Ironically, this was the first thought to cross my mind, but I ignored it in favor of being silly to amuse myself.

I guess the one good thing about people who don't actually play coming here is that we can give them suggestions on the best games and attempt to coerce them into playing/buying/loving it. But, at the same time, it kind of separates them all from the rest of the forum because they don't have the major thing in common that most all of us here do - a love for Harvest Moon.

However, it's not like we can just say, "Because you've never played Harvest Moon, you're not allowed to join!" It just doesn't seem like this site is that exclusive. :/

Anyhoo, Eliza joined by her own force because I told her so much about Ranch Story. But she did plan in the future to play Harvest Moon eventually. And, well, our little friend joined the forum by surprise. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) The next day she randomly told us that she made an account. And now I'm forcing her to buy some of her own Harvest Moon games. >:D And I am one of the three that has actually played some of the series. La di da, aren't I sooo special?

Mizuki, exclusive? I realize there aren't certain rules to join but this is afterall, a HARVEST MOON website and forum that also happens to have random topics with it. If they want to talk, there are tons of IM programs out there that work quicker than a forum.

I think it's downright stupid if people are joining a Harvest Moon forum when they've never played or even really heard of Harvest Moon. Do you even look at the Ranch Story site proper from time to time?

Well I know that I do. I would've never even come to the forums had I not been a regular visitor to the main site. (Which I came across through another HM fansite...)

IdlersDream, I am well aware of this, but the fact remains that people who haven't played Harvest Moon can join - even if we don't want them to - and oftentimes we welcome them with open arms regardless. It may be incredibly stupid to join a fansite for a game you've never even played, but shunning them just because of this isn't any better. This isn't Japan. (Despite being based on a Japanese game... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) )

Honestly, I don't really know what to say past that. I don't see there being much that we can do about it other than bicker and complain. If they join, great. If they eventually go out and buy a Harvest Moon game, even better. If they don't and start spamming up the site with ignorant misinformed drivel, burn them at the stake. Whatever.

Well, if anyone does care, I am forcing them to play the game, well, more as Nalia now. Eh there is no real harm in having a few people in RS that don't know about HM that well. I mean not all the topics are for HM and really they're just random places, question topics, etc. It's nicer if they have played HM so they have a small clue of what we're talking about part of the time, but as long as it's not a major spam fest then I'm not complaining (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

And thus, they are going to play the series someday soon! So that's a tiny plus. I hope. D':

I have, but that's because ToT was just really a let down. I didn't even finish making my kid grow up. I have tried at least ten times to try and play the game to finish growing him up, but I get super bored after two days in the game. It seems to be like that for most HM games now, at least for me. *sad face* I want to get AP, but I'm scared to...ha ha!
