Have any of you ever felt that you're getting too old for video games? Lately I've been feeling like that. I still like them, but I feel like I'm getting too old. I guess sometimes I feel like a little kid playing some of these video games. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I guess it must be society that is telling me it's wrong...

There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes.

I'll be 20 this January. I still watch cartoons and play video games and STILL read comics. Astro Boy being among my favorites.

You're only as old as you feel. There is a time to be grown up, but nothing wrong with doing what you enjoy!

Yeah, you guys are right. But it's the whole thing of being labeled as a "gamer" that makes me mad. You know, cuz gamers are supposed to be, well, you know all the stereotypes. I guess I feel like I need to hide the fact that I still love to play them. Especially games like Mario or Pokemon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

I think "gamer" stereotype is better than it was a awhile back. "Gamers" are frat boys now. So much so that if you actually play a variety of games you are less of a gamer than someone who just drink extreme mountain dew utlra gamefuel cells and plays Call of Halo Tournament 3.

My dad still plays video games. He's almost fifty.

My grandfather knew what pokemon was when I showed him the cards, and he talked to me about their weaknesses and strong points.

"Time only truly affects those who allow it." or "You are only as old as you feel." are two quotes that go great with this. :)

Edit: Oscar, whatchu talkin bout? Playing Pokemon is teh coolness. :B

Hahahaha. No. I love video games way too much. I'm very much a "kid" in some ways, but I don't consider myself immature for liking certain "kiddie" things. I love cartoons, video games, stuffed animals (particurally my dinosaur plush), comic books, and the like.

I've considered it, but it always falls flat.

Most of the 'gamers' I know are between ages 16-25, and about in the middle of that age range. Plus, my mom's boyfriend plays video games, he's around fifty.

That in mind, how could I possibly feel too old for video games? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasmile.gif)

I feel like most games have gotten too 'EPIC' for me. 'Gamers' like to call these games mature; I call them gams for those with no lives.

Yeah, I'm probably over thinking the whole thing. I do that often. At least some of you guys have a lot of family members that play them. Nearly nobody in my family (at least the family that I see more) likes video games. Lolz, my grandma wouldn't even know that there's a Wii or anything.

Nobody actually related to me really plays video games. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif)

You might say my mom does, she does rarely play something like Brain Age. Oh, and my younger cousin is (or was, I haven't seen him in a while . . .) an avid video game player.

Some of my family does, just my mom's side, though. Too bad I never see THEM! =/

I just think I'm tired of some of my older games from playing them a billion times and more recent games are sort of a let down. Plus I don't have the time/interest to go learn the million aspects of some story or gameplay mechanic. The best games are the ones I can just pick up and put down at any time, preferably multiplayer cuz I have friends over a lot.

Yeah, I have lost some interest, but I think that's natural. I really don't like playing my older games too. I love those games that are just meant to be pure fun for everyone.

Pick a system and rent games or buy some time from time. No need to play them constantly.

I do just have one system. I'm just saying that I feel like too much of a kid when I play games like Mario and stuff. I just get embarrassed, lolz.

That's true, I over think things. I'm too worried about if what I do is right or wrong, haha.

Mario's awesome because girls will always wanna play it. Mario Kart, Wii Sports, and New MArio Bros are pretty much always in my Wii at any given time unless nobody's over or something.
