All those of you who bought a DSi can now feel bad because there's an even better DSi soon to be out. From what I can tell the handheld offers a much larger screen but that's about it. It looks massive.
It will be called the DSi XL in North America and Europe. (IMG:http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/kotaku/2009/10/compare.jpg) (IMG:http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/kotaku/2009/10/92a044e4.jpg) (IMG:http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/kotaku/2009/10/dsill.jpg) |

I recall hearing how older people wanted a DS with a larger screen cuz the normal one is too small for them so they have a hard time seeing it and using the stylus properly. Anyway, I still don't have a DS.

Now we're going BACKWARDS with size. Though it won't change my views on the DSi on intending to get one at some point. I suppose which one will depend on if either of them have something special for Pokemon.

I'd pick up a DS if I had someone to play that co-op Castevania game with. I mean, I suppose me and my brother could both get DSs, but nuts to him.

If all it is is a bigger screen then forget it. But if there's something else new, I'll consider it.

Anyway, I still don't have a DS. I get this impression as well. Just looking at the colours for the DSi LL/XL and the large pen stylus I certainly can't imagine any young individual being the target audience. And hey, Nintendo does want new customers. |

Nope. Didn't get a DSi, not gettin' a DS XL. I think it's lame. :\ I have a perfectly good DS Lite; special Zelda edition. I'm quite content.

I too have a DS Lite... that's crystal clear. I'm not about to give that up for some big screen monstrosity with a waffleing camera. Especially not in that nasty terra cotta color. XP
I think y'all are definitely right about the target audience. Only someone old and turning into dust would like a DS that color. Oh, and what's with the Wii Game bundled with it in that one picture? It seems awfully out of place... |

It's Animal Crossing. Just a size comparison.

Ah... size comparison... darn that's one huge DS. I will definitely not be buying something that large.
(And, I already knew it was Animal Crossing... I can read Japanese... "Doubutsu no Mori" or "Animal Forest" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) ) |

I think I want this one actually. I already have a DS Lite to play GBA games... I didn't buy a DSi, thank goodness.
The edge that this new one has over the old DSi is not the bigger screen, but that it's thicker, so I won't have to worry about carpal tunnel or hand cramps <3 (yeah, I DO have really crappy hands that are practically arthritic and it sucks, don't be hatin'!) The thin-ness of the DSi is actually what turned me off the most. Plus, size isn't that big of an issue, is it? Old school Gameboys were huge! I don't like that color either, though. I'd rather get the red one or the white one :[ |

Ahh, just a bigger screen? Not buyin' it then. It's kind of weird how Nintendo keeps coming out with all these DSs. At least wait a year, Nintendo!

This one is the DS I own. No DSLite, DSi. DS XL. The first original one. I don't need a new DS, this one works perfectly fine, and even though I have dropped it a few times it hasn't broken. But I guess for myself, I could have and excuse to buy on of the new DS' since I have the old one, but it's not needed. Too much money anyway. I want to buy myself some Harvest Moon games. |

Out of all the portable consoles this generation, DSi LL is actually the heaviest (even heavier than PSP 1000). And it's about 250 bucks to top it off.
If you already have a DSi and you're not a behemoth dwelling in a basement through to social anxiety, I suggest to not let this portable get you down. Like previous posters stated, it's mainly marketed toward those who either want to play video games on a bigger screen for friends to watch them play or they have hands the size of Master Hand from SSB and need that large pen stylus. Besides, I can't imagine someone having a DSi LL on their butt pocket... I do that already with my PSP 1000 and it feels bad. |

The only difference is the size. It's made for people who find the regular DS too small, specifically older people.
