Oh, the pain of stars. Doing perfect on a grand prix only to be hit by a blue shell at the very end of the level, falling back several places and ending up with a poor ranking. All you can really do is hope you get a sensible lead to survive.

One of the biggest differences between Mario Kart and F-Zero I've noticed is that Mario Kart's computer sucks and pretty much relies on items to win, whereas F-Zero's computer just races incredibly well, but if they crash, they don't get any points in the GP so they pretty much lose any chance of beating you in the final results.
That being said, I don't know which is more frustrating: an insanely good computer or getting cheesed by items on the final lap. |

Oscar: There was F-Zero for SNES (which pretty much paved the way for other racing games, especially Mario Kart), F-Zero X for the N64, and F-Zero GX for GameCube. There's also an arcade version of GX called AX, and there are some GBA games modeled after the anime but they're basically ports of the SNES game.
