> Super Mario Brothers the Movie, The Epic, the movie, the wonderfully lame joyride of plotlessness!

So, back when I was a young, young whipper-snapper gas was only $1.19 a gallon, and there was a movie that disgusted the heck out of almost every Nintendo junkie in the world.

It was called "Super Mario Brothers", made by you heard me right, Disney. It was totally live action. The movie was a HUGE flop, but I love it, and I think it may actually be among my favorite movies.

Shigeru Miyamoto got together with the Disney team to create a Mario movie that was a story of its own. It didn't follow a game plot or anything. It was like it's own thing, and that's what most people don't understand.

The movie's main stars are Bob Hoskins (The guy from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) as Mario and John Luguizamo (You've probably seen him in several places, but you're probably not sure where) as Luigi.

You kids know you want to watch it.

-----------

Anyway, moral of the story, does anyone remember/enjoy/hate/etc. this movie? I want to know if I'm the only one who totally LOVED it.

I've seen that movie at least twice in life, maybe three times. I think as a child I was way more confused than anything =\

Wait, do you love or hate this movie? You sort of contradict yourself.

Oh, wrong one, lame.

Haha, my brother loved this movie when he was little. I threw it down the stairs apparently when I was 3 though.

I've never had the pleasure of owning it, but I remember even as a kid understanding how bad it was, but it also wrapping around at some point to become incredibly awesome. Of course I can't say much more since last I saw it ages ago. =\

I saw it when it was in theaters and I was really confused, bothered, and disappointed. And as a kid I was pretty easily impressed with movies. I hated that they were called "Mario Mario" and "Luigi Mario", as if Mario was also their last name. I hated that TOAD DIES (and was a rock star? what the hell?). I hated that Yoshi was some stupid actual dinosaur. I hated how goombas were giant and weird looking. I hated how it took place in a deep, dark, super evil New York kind of place instead of anything remotely livable. I hated how the princess's dad was a pile of boogers for the whole movie.

I did like how Daisy was in it, but they pretty much combined Peach and Daisy into one princess, since back then Peach was just known as Princess Toadstool. But she ended up with Luigi, and that's cool cuz back then I felt Luigi never got any credit.

I watched it on Youtube in the summer. It wasn't the best movie in the world... But it was okay. I didn't like the thing where the Mushroom kingdom was this horrible place to live. I thought the goomba thing (normal height, but with a shruken head) was weird. The whole 'evolution' thing was just weird altogether. I understood it, but I was like "What the crap?" during the whole movie. The whole love story between Luigi and Daisy was cute. The fact that Daisy's dad was a fungus was just odd, even though he was turned into that (if my memory serves me correctly).

The ending was kinda funny when Daisy goes back to Brooklyn and she's like "We need your help again!" or something along those lines.

Eh, I saw part of it when I was really little. I know my parents said it was lame. :\ But I own one part of the LoZ cartoon series. At the end of the disc, there's some dance with this guy dressed up like Mario. Singing some Mario song or something. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

The Zelda and Mario cartoons were awesome. This reminds me that they really need to bring Mouser back, with a thick German accent.

ANYTHING FOR YOU, ZELDA! :D /corniness

The Super Mario Bros. movie was like, what would have happened if they decided to make any other game into a movie before special effects.

THIS is what a Nintendo movie should look like:

This movie actually scared the crap out of me. I was like, "Why does Yoshi look like a raptor from Jurassic Park? D':" Bear with me, I was 7...

I always burst out laughing whenever I see that Ganon. Lmao.

Yay for disappoinment!

Thank you, Tolby. Yes, the Goomba with the harmonica was too cool. I thought it was hilarious when they danced. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) And the ba-bomb was neat, too.

Well, for anyone who actually somewhat liked it, my favorite part is when that big, black woman with all the spikes is flirting/dancing with Mario. That so should have happened. :[

Wow, that video was disturbing. But I've seen it before. I know there was actually a Zelda movie being made; but that was years ago, and I haven't really not heard anything about it lately....
