Recently I've been thinking about this and I found this thing online that supposedly will tell you if you are addicted or not. All you gotta do is answer some simple questions.
Here it is!

I found out that I am not addicted, I'm in the average user section. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalagrin.gif)

The quiz isn't all that great because it only looks at whether or not you have control of your addiction. Which I guess can kind of make sense. But I'm on the computer from when I wake up until I go to bed practically everyday. I certainly wouldn't consider myself an average user =\ But I can control my "addiction" because most of the time I'm only online because there's little else to do.

^Yeah, exactly! That's why it makes sense. If you avoid your responsibilities and people, then that is what makes you addicted. I think it's pretty good for an indicator.

You just happen to be online when there's nothing else to do, which is why pretty much everyone else does too. That's what technology is for! Lolz

I got "average internet user", but that was after clicking "does not apply" on more than half of the questions. I honestly don't think that quiz is very fair. It doesn't take into account what kind of life a person leads and I don't see the internet in the same manner they do at all - like something I shouldn't be on for more than such-and-such amount of time a day. >=/

I think it's terming "addiction" as, not a casual condition, but as a serious medical/mental/social problem. The question should be: "Does casual use of the Internet control your life?"

I got average user too. These questions are stupid, and say it as if I go on for a bit each day I could be addicted.

I don't think this is a good indicator. Just because I spend quite a few hours each day on the computer doesn't mean I have an addiction. What about someone that works in an office all day and comes home and goe son the computer, that's not an addiction. Plus, I like how a quiz about internet addiction is on the internet. Just like if there were a quiz like this for alcoholics on the back of a whiskey bottle.
