You may have noticed we no longer have a "book club" forum for RPGing anymore, I removed it because this forum as a whole isn't really set up for a proper RPG. It's not really as fun as it could be since you only have like two members participating. However, Marie (aka Akie, elder admin of Ranch Story) has a sister Harvest Moon forum, which is a full fledged RPG system and is better suited for the overall RPG experience. EDIT: My apologies who's existing RP topics may have been cut short. =\ I hope you all understand, and see in the long run that it's better with more people and with an adequate RPG system.

Not that I wanted all that stuff in the Book Club deleted, per say… -coughcough-

But OoS is definitely my most favorite HM RPG I have been a part of. It's all inclusive, makes you strive to be a better RPer, is full of amazing members, has an elite team of dedicated staff, along with more fun you could shake a stick at.

And with more members from RS, that means more fun for me, too! <3 I hope a lot of the people here join and have lots of fun over there, as I'm assured they will. Because I enjoy it very much.

I'll have a look at this when I have time but I still think we should do some small Ranchstory RPG. We could have at least a dozen or so members already. It doesn't have to be that complex and new people could see it and join in. You could advertise it on the main site...?

I think the intention of Ocean of Stars was to make it THE RS RP. There are enough people from RS already there, the admin is from RS as well.

I know, my heart went out to them when I closed it. :( I saw Charmy and Daniella had a little Mini RP going...it was very cute. But all isn't lost, they aren't "deleted" just closed -- the memories are still there.

Yeah, we have a lot of rules and regulations, and stuff is getting tweaked all the time, but for the most part, the rules are based on common sense. There is one rule that we REALLY want y'all to pay attention to though:
Characters MUST be human, and they can't be serial killers (we had two at one point for some reason), and we don't really like sputteringly evil witches and wizards. It's OK for characters to be eccentric, or magic scholars, mad scientists, or whatever. We just don't want to see someone who will murder others.

Because of the big influx of people, we've decided that new members will have to get their first profile OK'd by an admin, but once that's done, you're free to post (and add more characters) as you like~.

Well, I was about to open my Rune Factory RP again coincidentally. But Oos is a bunch of times better once you get through the rules. Plus the Rune Factory RP was kinda lame anyways. And Be Happy and Sarah never post anymore. So it's all for the best.

Yeah, I noticed the huge mass of new characters, too. Then saw some questionable characters and was like "Ohhhh no, think we may need some action there." XD; Yay, glad that's working out.

Comments on Ocean RP:

Looks wonderful and I will be signing up immediately.
I don't think it should be set in the real world as such, they add so many fantasy elements in HM and then some characters talk about planes and Iraq and such and it kind of spoils the originality and effect. I would have remedied this in the RPG and made out that Harvest Moon was set in another world or some such thing. Never mind, it looks fun anyway and I want to play if I have time.

It actually takes place long before the war and stuff like that--there are very few cars even on the mainland, and little to no technology on the island itself. So we avoid a lot of interference and such.

But it's nice for it to be on Earth--that way, characters can delve into other nationalities and develop more punctual personalities. For example, my character Demetrius is purely French, raised in Marseille, and has a thick accent. He fancies anything relating to France's culture, yet still is communicable to most anyone and has a very specific personality. Without the culture of today (or yesterday's)'s world, he would be less of a person without as much of a defined persona.
