I was just having the nagging that people who like similar video games (hence this forum) might like similar genres in entertainment.
My favourites tend to turn to the unrealistic. My favourite genres include Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Fiction. I almost despise anything realistic beyond the laws of physics. What about you guys? |

For books, I almost always read fiction. I believe in science, though, and am a very realistic person. That's kind of an oxymoron, huh?

I honestly don't have main favourites that I can say "I only watch this kind of movie"
Like, certain comedies I like, The Big Lebowski is considered a comedy, and I laugh to the point of crying every single time I see it, but it's not your big blockbuster type of comedy which I rarely ever like. I guess I mostly watch drama when it comes to movies, and definitely drama when it comes to tv. I usually like more "adult" stuff, like Dexter, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, that type of thing. I don't think I watch any tv shows that are on regular tv, I get so bored with CSI type shows that are format shows and get annoying. Same with movies, although I'm not big into reeeeally raw movies, like Little Children, ugh, I couldn't get the scenes out of my head for DAYS. I usually watch that type of thing and then try to go to sleep and just stare shocked for the whole night, does not mix well with me lol. So I guess give me a show with a murderer in it and I'll be fine. Books, a lot of different types. I can't choose a favourite type. What a pointless post this is. |

As the ol' fogey of the group, my answers might amuse people.
Movies - Documentaries, Drama, Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Bio-pics Books - Histories, Dramas, Biographies, Plays, Poetry Games - Turn-based RPG, Scroll (if you know what they are, you may be old), Action/Adventure, Puzzle My 3+ decades on this earth so far means I remember when movies had plots instead of cheap explosions. The post isn't pointless, just not focused enough to keep Idler from drooling on himself/herself. |

I pretty much like the same type of stuff in most forms of entertainment. Fantasy, adventure, and comedy are my main genres. That's what I like in books, movies, and games.
For game play style I like simulation, puzzle, adventure, and free roam fighting. For TV I like cooking and documentary shows. And cartoons ^-^. |

I like psychological thrillers, dramas, comedies, & action/adventure.
I like movies, shows, games, etc, to have a somewhat dramatic theme w/ deep thoughts, & moments that make you *gasp!* & beg for more & moments that make you feel touched, concerned, affected in some way. But on the side has a bit of comedy in it. And has likable characters. Like, the first season of Heroes (the tv show). The show is deep, dramatic, & but it has its funny & happy moments that make you smile. And the show has diverse characters, all unique in their own way. (My favorite is Hiro btw, I love his heroic sense & good-nature!) Also, Supernatural is another that has all of what I've mentioned. It's mostly thrilling, dark, & dramatic, but it has its funny & touching moments. |
