Do you enjoy the main character changing often? Options

It's been a while since the original overall-clad protagonist made an appearance (well, Magical Melody), so I do find myself missing the original design every then and again.

But other than that I like the idea of an ever-changing main character. Sure a few of them have made more than one appearance (RF, IoH), but it certainly helps set each game apart from eachother. More often than not, a game is most known by it's main character. While Harvest Moon protagonists lack a real personality (because you control everything they do), the changing appearance is definitely a step in the right direction, I'd think.

What about you all?

I want Claire to make one more appearance. She looked awesome!

Other than that, having a new character for each type of (ToT, IoH, BTN, see, different characters in the game) Makes it more realistic, than having same old Jack appear in numerous places marrying a whole bunch of people. But, say there should be a main character for each type of HM game, suc has the island type, unless if it is meant to go to a decade later or something when you are meant to be someone else, then that makes perfect sense.

Though, Jack can appear if they have the same cast of characters.

Sometimes it's fine, other time's not so much. Like Mark. But that could be blamed on how stupidly weak he is.

I think Jack should always have a place in HM. There should always be an updated HM64, BTN, FoMT, B&G, HMDS Jack title out, but I don't mind some new ones.

I think they should possibly give you an option to pick any one of the main characters that have been made plus the new one made for the game.

I think it's refreshing in a way that they change the character from time to time. However, Jack will always be the Harvest Moon guy to me.

I like the changes, but I admit, I do get attached to certain ones more. Though I have to admit, I was never very fond of the regular Jack *dodges the knives thrown*. I just like the character designs a lot better for the newer ones. Claire was cool though. I've liked all the female leads so far.

They should at least have a Jake cameo somewhere in the newer games. They already putting the mineral town people into the newer games, Why not have Jake be the guy that teaches you how to farm or Clare if your playing as a girl. Other then thouse miner things I don't mind them changeing it every now and agian. I do wish they would bring back Jill (AnWL) though. She was my favorite girl untill the ToT one came out. Jack will always be the love of my life.

But these new fellows in Waku Waku look to be my favorites by far. I'm not really liking all these new "blonde" Heroes, not that I have any probelm with blondes its just its almost too different for me to play a blonde hero. D: I can take a blonde girl, its just weird for some reason.

Personally, I want Jack from AWL and Jill from the sister game to mae more appearances. They are both my favorites(Maybe because they were my first HM games- that and my brother is playing AnWL behind me(Don't Ask)) However, the ToT guy is growing on me. And I liked mark. For some reason, the original Jack/"Pete" is my least favorite- maybe it's the hat? That and MM kinda ruined my opinion of him...(Ahh! Here comes big butt!) *Sigh*

I actually like the changes. It's refreshing seeing new mains every once in a while.

I always liked Jill from AnWL better than Claire... but I think it was because when I first saw Claire's sprite, I thought she was Jack with a blonde wig on. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Tina from MM was cute, but looked too much like a 5 year old. ]: As for Akari/Angela from ToT, I didn't like her design too much at first, but it kinda grew on me. :] I'm really excited about Waku Waku because the female main character looks cute~

As for the male... I never had any complaints about the original Jack. When Save the Homeland came out, I went "<3", but I wasn't too fond of his AWL design. I'm in love with ToT's Takeru/Kevin though. :] I'm also looking forward to the male lead of Waku Waku. He's kind of got this "bad boy" look. LOL.

I think it's good to have a new main character every so often. Somehow I don't see Jack in his overalls and cap working as well in some of the newer games. What I'd really like to see in HM games though, is the ability to change your characters appearance slightly. I don't mean just clothes either, I mean hair color, skin color, eye color, that sort of thing. But until that happens I think having new main characters every so many games is a good thing.

I agree with the majority of you people. I like the changing leads with each game. It's refreshing to have someone new to play and the changing characters often match their fellow villagers better than the old leads do. I think they should have some red headed farmers personally. It's something they've never done (as far as I know) and it would be nice. Of course picking hair and eye colour and things like that would be ideal but probably difficult since they would have to make matching kids for every possible character you can make. Unless they made them match the spouses instead, that might work.

and in GBC3 they could be whatever color haired you wanted. As for racial diversity, well Japan isn't about to change their mysterious ways now after so long it doesn't look.
