Finally indeed. I thought the series may've actually taken a break for a moment. Though I'd've preferred another Wii title because of how awesome Frontier was, this is nice too. I don't think I particularly like any of the character designs I'm seeing though...

So, uh...I can't really get too much from the article since my knowledge of Japanese is abysmal, but what I did get is this:

-the hero's name is Mais, and apparently he has the ability to transform into that little Wooly guy.
-The heroine's name is Shia, and she's the mayor's daughter. She loves flowers, and is a marriage candidate.
-The elf girl's name is Touna. Like Shia, she's a marriage candidate.
-The elf boy with the black hair's name is Gaji, and I'm not sure about this since the text is kind of small, but I think he owns a shop of some sort or does some kind of business.
- The little girl with the barette and school uniform looking thing is Monica, and she's Shia's sister. It doesn't say whether she's available for marriage, though.
-The older looking man's name is Wells, and he's Shia and Monica's grandfather.
-The town/region is called Ciarens or something close to that. (The romanization is Shiarensu, so it could be taken a lot of ways.)
-I think the ginormous tree on the first scan is Mais's house throughout the game...It looks like it says you'll be doing fighting near the tops of the tree, while your crop-growing is done underground.
-It looks like people will have different reactions to you while you're in Wooly form and while you're in human form. In one screenshot, for example, Touna treats you coldly as a human, but while you're a Wooly, Touna will be kinder to you.

...That's most of it, I guess...It might not be 100% correct, though, so it'd probably be better to have someone double-check. If I find anything else of importance in the scans, I'll edit this post. :D

From an Ign article
QUOTE
Farming, adventure, love. And now transformation! Marvelous is bringing the Rune Factory series to the DS, complete with new elements.

Famitsu reports in its latest issue that Rune Factory 3 is being prepared for Japanese DS release some time this year. The game promises all the farming, adventuring, and romance aspects of past Rune Factory games, but adds in the ability to make main character Maisu transform into monsters once you've obtained a "Transformation Belt." When in monster form, you'll have access to a separate set of actions during battle, and be treated to new conversations while in town.

One example of a monster is the long-eared "Golden Moko Moko." When you're in Moko Moko form, one cute little girl who's apparently displeased with you otherwise, finds you cute!

Despite Maisu's ability to transform into a monster, the game still allows you to raise and bring monsters into battle. And for the first time, you'll also take certain plants into battle with you! These special plants emerge from "Active Seeds," and while details are unclear at present, they apparently play a major role in the game.

As for the more traditional Rune Factory elements, they're all back, but with some apparent changes.

Characters make use of new AI, with their daily movements around town driven by interests, goals, and relationships with other characters.

The farming aspect of the game has one obvious change. For various unspecified reasons, the only areas of the world that can grow plants are those that are underground and receive the protection of a special tree. Maisu's home is located in that tree, and his farm is located below. The inside of the tree is said to be very spacious, so you may end up spending quite some time in there.

With a Japanese release planned for 2009, it shouldn't come as a surprise to learn that Rune Factory 3 is pretty far along. The game is 80% complete according to Famitsu.

I agree with the guy who wrote the article. Mostly because new guy sucks in comparison to Raggy. Kyle was okay though.

I like the new guy. I was getting tired of raguna. Plaus I like the new guys hair. It's blonde like mine! I think it's so neat how you can turn into monsters and that you live in a tree.
