BeautifulPeople.com Axes Holiday Weight Gain Members

Thankfully I was not axed! Actually I don't do online-dating and I would definitely never use a site dedicated to 'beautiful-only' members. Can you imagine the kinds of personalities you'd find on there?

Do you do online-dating?

Or did you put on any weight over the holidays?

Ever been rejected by the beautiful people?

Discuss.

I was just looking at that site and debated making a post about it. Did you see this on the news?

To your questions: Yes, No, No. I have done online dating twice, but don't see myself doing it anymore.

I guess to put into context it should be mentioned that there are dating sites dedicated to other visible groups (eg. asian-only, jewish-only, etc...)

I still think it's silly to call them "fatties".

Read this already, was gonna make a topic myself.

Calling people who have been already voted good looking "fatties" because they've put on a little weight over the holidays is silly, although I suppose they could reapply when they've lost weight.

I'd never try online dating, for various reasons, number one being a major drop in self esteem. A website like this might be a little different in some ways, but as has been pointed out they're far more likely to be jackasses. Besides, it'd be silly to assume I'd necessarily meet their criteria.

I still think the funniest thing I've ever seenin my life was a banner for "Chubby gay dating" at the bottom of this site.

Haha, that's funny, but I'm sure the website is going to be doing good. What's the criteria to get in anyways? Sending a pic of yourself and having to be "beautiful" to whoever is looking at your picture? I'm pretty sure most normal people can't get into that site.

This is just the type of world we live in.

I'm overweight, and I could care less what others think of me.

I heard about this site when it first started and caused a lot of controversy and unfortunatley heard about it again because of this.

I find it so pathetic that anyone would make a site like this. Shouldn't we, in this day and age, be more accepting of all types of looks and bodies? Instead we're going backwards and becoming more and more judgemental everyday.

Do you do online-dating?
Never have and not sure if I ever will. Most online dating sites just seem to be more focused on getting laid easy than finding actual relationships. My brother belongs to tons of them but really only uses them for the wrong reasons.

Or did you put on any weight over the holidays?
I think I did a bit. All my nana's cookies and baked goods are extremely hard to resist. But I think now I'm back to my regular weight. And during the holidays my family and I mostly have crackers and cheese with vegetables and things like that for dinner so you really end up not putting on a ton of weight.

Ever been rejected by the beautiful people?
Never tried getting on their site.

Also, how do the people even know their members gained weight over a week? Unless they gained like 10 or 15 pounds, it would be extremely hard to notice.

I don't have a problem with the site itself, it's kind of vain but that's the way it goes, if good looking people want to meet other good looking people without having to browse through a bunch of "unattractive" profiles that's fine. I know personality is the most important thing but let's face it, looks are a factor and just because they're good looking it doesn't necessarily make them a bad person, if they signed up to this site chances are they might be a little self centered but you never know. I do however think it's pretty stupid that they're not giving their members benefit of the doubt and giving them like a month or two to resume their normal eating habits and lose holiday weight. The whole point of holiday weight is that it's only there during the holidays.

As for the questions...
Nope, I don't do online dating and probably never will.
Didn't put on any weight over the holidays because there wasn't much celebration, my family's spread all over New England and London which makes getting together difficult.
I might have been rejected when I was younger but now I know my place on the looks hierarchy and I tend not to punch above my weight. I've dated some pretty good looking girls though, must have been the accent.

Wow.."fatties" are a threat to beautiful people? O_o

I think the website is rather silly and vain, but if attractiveness if your first priority then go for it. I don't have a problem with the site, I just wouldn't go to it.

Never tried online dating, probably never will.

I probably gained a pound or two over the holidays, will all the feasting and cookies and sweets. But it doesn't really bother me, and I exercise, so I'm back to normal.

And I've never tried getting on (or heard of) that site before, so no I've never been rejected by it.
