I recently started this Harvest Moon and so far it's been great. I noticed that it was extremely difficult to accumulate enough lumber or materials for any of the upgrades/buildings through just chopping small branches with the ax (no wonderfuls). I somehow managed half the lumber needed for the chicken coop and bought the difference. I also bought the house upgrade, but had to pay for the entire materials cost as well.
I just wanted to see if people generally ignored the material collecting in the beginning and just payed the labor + materials costs instead. |

well I'm nowhere experienced in playing harvest moon games but normally like on ds I would gather the materials as it's wayyy cheaper..and I'm cheap haha. this one so far I've just payed for everything since mats seem harder to collect...so I got 2 roads, 2 bridges, and one house upgrade...oh wait I did give up the mats for a chicken pen now that I think about it but that was later not necessarily the beginning.
not much help but maybe a little? |

I don't have the patience to gather the 500000000000000000000000000 pieces of wood you need for everything, so I just pay extra and pay for Gannon's lumber.

I used to gather materials, until around the second bridge. I did not have the time or energy to collect materials. Now, I just pay for them up front.

If you put in the AR code to play as BTN Jack then you can gather it all in a day.

^There should be a code for that.
Mark is too wimpy to get it all in one day. I buy it since I make easy money from fishing. |
