Alright, kiddos.
FF. Is this awesome? y/n What is your favorite FF game? (What are they even at now, like 13 or something crazy?) My favorite is number 5, with Mr. Butz. Definitely a classic. Job classes for the win! Then of course there is 7(classic), I didn't like 8 or 9, and I loved 10. Anything before 5 I wasn't actually a fan of. I just couldn't get into it (although I haven't tried THAT hard.) |

Cooool. Someone else who liked 5. 4 is probably the favorite, but in general, it and 5 I think are the only ones I've gone back to play multiple times. All hail the mimic and blue mage!

These topics make me squeel. My favorites are actually Final Fantasy 3,6j, X, X-2, 8, 7, 2,4j, 5j, and 9 in that order. I haven't played XI, or XII yet, though they don't seem to be that great from the trailers and poor reviews..so I don't think I will get them. I am GREATLY anticipating XIII and XIII VERSUS, and XIII AGITO. Oh, no tactics, or anything of those sorts..bleh. Yeah. |

Y.
I haven't played them all, but I have played 4,6,7, X and a little of XI. However I only beat 4, 6 and X. Six is probably my favorite, but four was fun as well. Beating four is my little claim over my brother, since he has yet to beat it, despite proclaiming how good he is. I usually spend an obscene about of time leveling up since I like to be five levels higher than advised; I can do any repetitive task with the good music playing. |

I LOVE levelling a lot at the beginning of the game so that I can torque the whole way through. It's basically my thing, hahaha. Find somewhere where I can heal for free and I'm there for EVER.

Played and beat 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 12, and Tactics, lent 10 from a guy I worked with and never gave it back or got very far. Did love how the guy who does the voice of Bender is a number of important characters, though. I always liked the charming roguish guys like Locke, Zidane, and Balthier. Balthier was the coolest (partly for being a pirate but also because he has an excellent style and voice actor), but Bartz and Locke are pretty freakin' cool too.

I haven't played Crisis Core yet, but my boyfriend's brother has it and LOVES it. It does look really sweet.
I've never been able to get into tactics. The fighting aspect is OK but I don't like games that have SOLELY fighting. I like a bit of having to talk to people and say the right things and stuff like that. I do like how you get healed automatically in tactics, though. |

The fun in Tactics is it's very customizable, in that you can make your own characters and it uses a job system similar to 5's. There are scenes where you have decisions and have to say the right things, too, but they're not like tricks or anything like in some Final Fantasies (that is, what seems like the obvious right answer causes you to miss out on something awesome, more commonly seen in later games). The game itself, when you understand it, can be fairly simple, though it's flexibility allows for you to make challenges for yourself.
For example, last time I played, my brother was the main character, I was a random dude, and we had 2 other random dudes, left on the most basic job and auto-fight. The rule me and my brother set was that me and him could only use stuff from 2 jobs each (out of like, 21 jobs), and those other 2 would remain their basic, poor AI selves. Furthermore, we "failed" if they died, so pretty much the whole game was trying to stop our retarded teammates from killing themselves, often getting ourselves killed instead. There were a number of seemingly impossible fights that took a long time to beat. |

I may be alone in this, but I think IX is definitely the best one. I also love VI (oh, Kefka..), VII, VIII, and XII, and IV is also really starting to grow on me after I started playing it more seriously.
The only one I really have problems with is X (X-2 is all right though..). I & II were not really my thing, either, but yeah... My sister has both the US and JP versions of Crisis Core, but it's kind of hard for me to get into the game knowing how it's going to end, and I really like Zack... :/ |

IX was wonderful. Was way better having characters who were cartoony and stuff instead of dramatic and always moping. I don't usually think about which one is my favorite, though I've only played IX once so I should probably revisit it sometime soon. Looking back I think I may have had the most fun playing through IX.

I haven't played really any Final Fantasy besides one for the DS and I got pretty far and then was stuck in a dungeon and couldn't beat the boss.
My favourites to watch {my brother is the big FF fan} was the one with Titus {don't know the number} but I have a lot of favourites besides that one I just don't know the numbers haha. |

Tactics, Tactics Advance, Tactics Advance 2, Crisis Core, and probably the upcoming Dissidia, Agito and Versus XIII.
Their main RPG line sucks. |

Haha if someone is into FF I don't assume that they're some heavy gamer or anything. Everyone and their cat plays Final Fantasy, but it doesn't make it a bad game.
