Nope, Me don't think ye can.

But there's a rumor that if ye put a lvl 99 toadstool in the pot 'o stew ( or whatever it is,) at the Harvest Festival, ye will kill off the whole town and end the game. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

In HMDSCute there is that rumour. Then the game will end (For all we know).

In HMDS ye may not die. When ye faint Thomas brings ye back in the hosue and ye will wake up the next day.

EDIT: Pluh, nah. Both games ye can raise a level 100 mushroom and kill off the village at the harvest festival.

In HMDS, there isn't a time limit like in A Wonderful Life; in fact, lots of features of the game take ridiculously long times to accomplish. For example, you need to live into the fourth and fifth years respectively in order to marry the Harvest Goddess and Witch Princess, and also some achievments like catching all the fish, going down all the mine floors and finding all the sprites will take you ages and ages. You need to have lived through something like seven or eight years of the game to have a fully grown child, but you'll never grow old and die like in AWL. The only character affected by time is Nina, who dies after your child is born.
Raising a poisonous mushroom to the highest level and donating it to the Harvest Festival might well cause a little event where all the villagers get sick and die, but is anyone really bothered to take the time to find out?

You will never die so you can faint as much as you want but no one will die I think a wonderful life is the only game you die in
