When you start a Harvest Moon game, do you prefer to focus on the bachelors/bachelorettes, raising animals or growing crops?
I like to balance my flirting and animal tending to be honest. :3 What do you guys do? :D |

I fill up my barn, but I guess I'd prefer focusing on crops since I get to do more with them. When I first started the series I didn't really do anything and rather sucked :p

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Lets just say my animals died before me and my crops fell to the floor because I was too busy cooking. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaeyes.gif) |

When I just started I actually fished alot. I mean alot. To the point that I managed to buy most of my stuff with my fish money and very minor crop growing. Kept a full barn though... lately it's kind of changed. I find the newer fishing systems a pain and have to keep up crops more to make up the difference.
Of course, all the while I try to find cheap gifts to give to everyone in town. |

I'm quite cheap with gifts too. I guess that's one reason I didn't like HMDS very much.

On HM:Friends Of Mineral Town I ALWAYS, repeat, ALWAYS bought chocolate for Popuri. Nothing else. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaeyes.gif)
Guess I was kinda cheap. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Kinda wasted my money when I ended up liking Elli more though. >:O |

Actually, HMDS felt almost like the king of being cheap. It was so easy to find something for everyone, especially since you could rake in cash and just start giving everyone chocolate or other 100G gifts. It was SO easy to do that. I almost always had a pile of 99 chocolates on me everywhere I went and gave them away haphazardly.
I had actually planned on getting all the girls (even the Mineral Town ones) to red hearts and becoming friends with everyone before marrying and ending the game. Until I got fed up with all the glitches =\ |

Crop guy. Always been. I always make a lot of crops and only really get animals if I keep the file. Except in AWL, its annoying and pointless to grow crops, unless your in dire need of moneys.

Well, I tend to start off with a few crops and building up my relationships (dog and horse, romantic, or other), then expand as the game goes on... I tend to neglect my barns though, only keeping a few animals at a time. THEY'RE TOO TIME CONSUMING. >D
Consider me the hopeless romantic of the farming world. |

For me I start with planting those few turnip seeds you get and then I head to town and start flirting and befriending (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) And I never buy cows or sheeps 'cause I don't like them but I have maximum amount of chickens (those are nice <3 ). Only difference was with Rune Factory where it really didnt matter what animals you had as long as I collected 50 (I married Tabatha) everything was fine. Though I did notice I kinda had 20 of those sheep things at the end and patting them all everyday was a pain >_<
So I guess I kinda socialise? I like getting everyones friend (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) It's hard in RF2 'cause always when I notice that someone mentions some item and then I go through heck to get it and only find out that actually what that character told me was "I hate item XXXX" and then I lose all friendship points I have accuired. *sigh* well atleast I now DO know what not to give as birhtday present (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif) I really did like Jakes pissed face though. Only thing cuter is his happy one ♥_♥ (With a singing voice: Jake hates miiilk~ he will never grow up big~ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) ) I feel like I'm randomly rambling again so I just shut up. |

I normally start off with three or four packs of turnips so I can get a chicken or two. I always start giving gifts to Karen or any other person you can marry.

When I first started the series I didn't really do anything and rather sucked :p Imagine AWL being your first game O_O. That was what happened with me, but I did fine only because I couldn't discard items. I usually start out with purely crops, but soon crops and animals even out. In Rune Factory, I have my monsters water the crops and I just brush them :D. |

I usually run around the first day to meet/romance the awesome townspeople, then I gather all the carp I can on the way back home.
Next few days, I only rarely visit the marriage candidates, then spend the rest of my life raising animals like heck. :D I love me some HM cows. I usually never talk to the other useless townspeople, unless they either give me stuff or whatever. In other words, I'm the sort of anti-socal-live-in-the-barn farmer. :]] |

I clean up my area, move rocks to make fence, and flirt.
Then I start focusing on farming :3 |

Generaly I spend the first year flirting, then I spend my 2nd and 3rd year busting my tail to complete all the marriage requirements. I used to be a mix of crops and animal, but now I'm mostly an animal farmer (rancher?) and only grow crops for cooking.
