Pet Peeves, What annoys you in this game? Options

The wedding is too unrealistic... You walk down the aisle together! I mean, the guy is down by the altar and the wedding march is played for the bride. At least, that's a traditional wedding. And, it's like no time ever passed on your wedding day. I'm sorry... I'm too much of a realist. And the spelling mistakes irk me to death! They postponed the game for almost a year, it's called basic grammar and spelling, people! Done ranting... *takes in a gasp of air*

Oh well, I guess we rag on Natsume too much. They do get games out fairly efficient compared to Rising Sun, no offense to them. But after having Tree of Tranquility on reserve at Gamestop for nine months, it got pretty annoying.

The fact that they changed Kotomi's name to Candace and Roomi's name to Luna. And so on. And the fact that Natsume takes too freakin' long to translate the games just so we'll by their other game to keep us busy while waiting! CURSE YOU NATSUME!!!!

Um, Lenyo, this is a thread for pet peeves of Tree of Tranquility. It might make a cool post game, though. A pet peeves thread, hmmm...

The storyline is a bit choppy. It starts off with major invovlement with certain characters. Then they just drop off. Like they just forgot about being concerned about the tree until you start growing the tree... Maybe it's just me... It probably is.

Story was choppy here and there.
The farming wasnt fun... At all.

I SUPER ditto the complaints about the "Let's go!" in the morning, the repetitive speaking, and the 3-day long topic of either "someone had a baby/got married/arrived on the island-- even if they know them personally".

I also don't like that, even after you marry someone, they still hang out alone with the rival they would have married. I know that that's certainly nothing new in the Harvest Moon games, it bothers me in almost every game. ^^;

The load times broke the flow of the game, which was slightly annoying, but I learned to live with it. It was too much fun to stop playing just because of that one thing. (Though I really liked Magical Melody's mostly-continuous map. Is there some issue that prevents them from doing that again?)

Not being able to separate stacked items was a real pain in the neck, but I otherwise loved being able to store 99 things in one spot in the rucksack. Not very realistic, but it made mass harvesting a heck of a lot easier.

Silkworms took for-freakin'-ever to befriend. I finally got my silkworm to ten hearts, but it died shortly thereafter. x_x And I just gave up on the wild animals.

I can't talk to the Harvest Sprites after reviving the Harvest Goddess (or if you can, I never figured out how.). This annoyed me; I loved the Harvest Sprites. They were so adorable.

I got all of the rival babies on the same day, just by visiting their houses on the same day. o_o Even Renee and Toby's baby, even though they'd only been married for a few days. But I happened to visit Candace and Julius last, so every villager talked about Candace and Julius having a baby for five days. Doesn't anyone remember Phoebe and Calvin, or Renee and Toby, or Anissa and Jin? D:

Speaking of rival babies, they grew up in one month, while my baby took a year to grow up. Also, they disappear when they're babies. You see them the first time, then in a month they're grown up. You don't get to see the baby more than once.

The dialogue was repetitive, but I was glad they had more dialogue lines than in some other games, where what they said depended solely on how much they liked you.

I couldn't buy lumber. I had truckloads of extra money, and I still had to spend hours that I could be spending socializing and harvesting chopping down trees.

And the worst thing. I had my barn and coop completely full: eight animals, six chickens, six ducks, eight silkworms. And like the good, caring rancher-girl I am, I talked to my animals every day. Twenty-eight times a day, TWENTY-EIGHT, I had to listen to my character say, "There, there." It. Is. Painfully. Annoying.

But I liked the seasonal themes, especially the winter one. Maybe I'm just weird. o_o

Actually, loading time and several other things on here really don't bother me much. In fact, I think Mai's ok. Here's what REALLY bugs me:

6. Chase (though he gets married to Mai, so they're connected, I suppose...)
5. The fact that (and maybe it's just me) the ONLY people whoe EVER say anything about my kid after an event are the other bachelor/ettes! I go to all the people, trying to see if they care about my kid, and I get, "It's wonderful weather today," or something like that! What the crap?? And then quite the opposite, Calvin goes, "Kids are such a blessing!" x3x
4. How long it takes for me to get through with all my chores!!! I'm so glad that I already have all of the things I need for the last two recipes (except for Green Bell Flowers, but I'm so on that!) because I don't think I'd have any time left to go into the mine or down to one of the islands for fishing!

And my number one pet peeve of all time:

1. How I got the last rival couple together, and, as luck would have it, their wedding was on my child's first birthday. So I missed that first birthday event and don't even get to throw a birthday party for her. I feel like a terrible parent. It's not faaaaaiiiiiir!!!!!!! *cries hysterically* Stinkin' Calvin and Phoebe!

1. Rivals' children grow up faster than yours. "/ *turns into overeacting parent* I mean my kid was born a whole month before Calvin and Pheobe's son! My kid is just now walking!

2. People acting like they practically don't know their own family and/or people they are associated with when they come back to Waffle Town.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I think the most annoying thing to me, aside from the loading, was (as always) the complete uselessness of household furniture. AHH. It drives me crazy! If I buy a couch, I want to sit on it!

I hated the voices the main character made, the cheesey "Yes!!" and things like that, the voice was a terrible voice over. x.X

You can talk to them acutally. They hang out at the Goddess Spring on Mount Gelato. They don't have heart meters or anything though - so they just talk about the season and maybe the weather.

How fast rival kids grow up compared to my annoys the heck out of me.

It also annoys me that your spouse will continue to visist your rival after your married. Like I hear Jin will go into Souffle Farm when it's closed and it's just Anissa in there - even after you marry him!

Other than that there's not a whole lot that bothers me. =/

Yeah, I checked the Goddess Spring, but no one was there until my kid grew up and I activated the New Game+ events. And that was about two years after I saved them! D:

I hate the main character voices as well. I really, really wish there were an option to turn off character voices - or at least turn it down without having to turn down the background music as well.

I slightly dislike Maya's hair. :C I dislike those two weird pigtail braided things, they only look nice in marriage but otherwise there just weird. Cx

Oh, and there needs to be some adjustments to clothing items. I mean Anissa is one of those "lovely girls" and her dress isn't that pretty. Not that I'm saying it or her are /hideous/. C: But that's my opinion.

I agree! I've never actually tried for a wild animal, but if I see one and have an extra edible item I'll give it to the animal. Though, befriending takes WAYYY too long.

I've had a similar experience as your number one pet peeve. On one of the flea markets, in the winter, my child got her first fever and we stayed with her all day. Not that I didn't want to take care of her, it's just that I hadn't attended the winter flea market. :C Then she had another one on /my/ anniversary... :'C But we were told they were perfectly 'normal'. The chore thing is annoying, I had a full barn as well, and I thought it'd be okay if I just left the chickens outside because I was too lazy and there's no chore I can order that says 'talk to animals'. I then find out a few days later, most of them are sick and one of my horses are as well. :C

OH! And when my first horse, first got sick that day... Uhm, the farmer dude guy came and told me to take better care of him... HE gave my horse MEDICINE and told me to buy some NEXT TIME. My horse 'felt better'... But when he left I walked back into the barn to see my horse STILL sick. >:C Don't give my horses BOGUS medicine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

I also hated the furniture and how there was sooo much to buy but one thing hardly any of it would fit in your house, even if there was room they wouldn't let you put it in.
Also, I wish the furniture was functional! Like, able to sit in a chair and maybe have a nap for an hour or something like that, or eat at the dinner table.

Another thing that really bugs me with this game is that you can increase your rucksack to fit more things but the shipping box doesn't increase with it so half the time you can't sell all the things you want to sell that day because the stupid shipping box hardly fits anything.

Less time I have to wait, the better. I used to hate them so much in this game during my first play though.

I also think the game+ didn't need the long beginners stuff. D:
If you reset the game, you've already seen all those things and have mastered them. Why would you want to do it again?!
Thou it is nice to be able to give your game+ to a friend that might not be to good at the HM games. They get to name them whatever they want and get a good amount of money to keep them afloat.

I think the game+ is very pointless really. With all the money you most likely end up with it's too easy to get everything done.
