First one I ever played was 2 when I was way too young to and my brother had borrowed it. It was pretty cool, but the graphic death scenes sorta got to me. When I actually played it myself however, I had no idea how my brother could die like that in the first place... but in any case, I mostly just watched others play it until 4 and the series got crazy and non-survival horror-y. At that point it was just an awesomely fun action game with one of the campiest stories I had played (same goes for most of the series though) though I still would like to see some more survival horror gameplay...

I think pretty much everyone does. Just about any gaming site seems to be pretty hyped up for it with all the news it gets.

Eh, I liked 4. I wasn't that far off. But now that 5 is out its like a third person shooter. Not scary at all. Plus you get a co op partner that actually does somthing.

What about Zero? I thought it was alright.
And don't even get me started on Outbreak File 1 & 2

I spent most of this weekend playing co-op RE5 with some friends. I've gotta say, from a gameplay perspective it was fun as heck. Failed completely on the horror front as the scariest thing in it was fumbling with the real-time inventory management. As soon as I learned I could use the D-Pad for weapon swapping though, it was hardly an issue. Bang, bang! Everything dies! Oh, and of course it was great to see Wesker being awesome again after what felt like an eternity as a background character.
