I went to GameStop yesterday, and sold a bunch of games I don't play anymore, got about $260, ordered AP finally!
You still have a little less than 2 months to get enough money to preorder. Or you could try selling a bunch of old games you don't play. |

That's always a good bet. A friend of mine took in about 30 games and got a used Xbox360 out of the deal.

... With 30 games he probably could have gotten a new Xbox 360, unless they were like really old PS1 games, I wonder if shops still buy those? A friend of mine traded his DS so he could buy Persona 4 and then the next week a game came out on DS that he really wanted but forgot existed and it took him forever to be able to get enough money for a used DS and a copy of the game... The Moral of the story is, children... NEVER NEVER EVER SELL CONSOLES TO FUND YOUR WANT FOR GAMES! ... You'll only reget it...

If they were all of his really good games then he wouldn't want to trade them in, now would he?

But, it is appropriate to sell games to fuel your want for consoles.
Unless you're like me, and you're a nostalgia buff and you feed off of your old games for entertainment because you can't afford any new ones. Then again, that could easily be fixed by selling those games, but then my older brother would be like OMG HOW COULD YOU SELL THAT I WAS JUST ABOUT TO PLAY IT GRAAAAAR. x_x Sell the games that don't have good replay value, like... basically none of the games I own. I shop in a very niche gaming market that most people who play video games wouldn't even call a "gaming market" in the first place. |

We were in GameStop yesterday (me and my brother) and I was horrified that at a whole wall of Wii games there wasn't a single copy of ToT. My brother said that it was because noone played ToT. But Wal Mart had it! Then we got into an argument about how big the fanbase is exactly for Harvest Moon games.

^ I think Games like AWL was loved by nearly everyone who had/has/will ever have a gamecube (And hated by those who own PS2 >_<) But I think It was the first game I had ever stayed up till 3 in the morning playing. Harvest Moon Can be played by anyone since its just mindlessly pointlessly lovely, like Animal Crossing. But Since by the time MM came out, the Gamecube was Dieing quickly and not many people who weren't partularly fans wouldn't have really bothered with it and so mostlikely it sold pretty badly (THATS WHY EUROPE DIDN'T GET IT WHILE THE WII!). Then there was Harvest Moon DS, which I really enjoyed but may also may not have done as well as it should of. Then there was very little Harvest Moon Action Till DS Cute. Then when IoH and ToT came along it was possible game shops just said "We only want a few since others didn't sell well". In a way it is possible Natsume's fault, More like bad timing mixed together with their lack of spelling know how... Maybe EAM may not be doomed to pathetic chart positions... we can only hope!

I've noticed that the ages for some of the characters (Luna = 16, Gill = 18) have been mentioned here and there. I was just wondering if there was any way to find out the ages of the other characters - or at least the bachelor/ettes?

Candace is also 18.
Renee is anywhere between 16-20, only an estimate of her age was given. Anissa, Calvin, and Jin are all older than the main character. It never says how much older, exactly, but enough years that it's worth a mention. Since Anissa is older than the main character (she says she used to think of you like a younger brother), but still considerably younger than Jin, I'd say she's in her mid 20s while Jin is maybe in his mid 30s. But that's just an estimate on my part, assuming the main character is supposed to be 20 years old. The Goddess, Witch, and God are all obviously older than the main character. The Wizard isn't very old, probably living in normal human years, since he mentions that he's a lot younger than they are. Cathy, Selena, Juli, Luke, Owen should all at least be 20 years old because they like/love a variety of alcohol. :P I'm taking a guess that Juli is ~20 because it would be weird if his age was too far apart from Candace's. As a general rule, though, none of the bachelors are under 18, none of the bachelorettes are under 16. |

Part of me Kinda wishes Thyme, Pao and Chloe all aged slightly... Kinda like Hugh and Kate in AWL. If they started off at their age, then as significant events happen like marrage and children then started to become slightly more like Bo. Wait... Actually I don't... I guess they would just stop being cute T_T.

I kind of wanted it to be like AWL, as the years go by the kids get older, and everyone actually starts getting gray hair! I just didn't like the main character dying in the end. That was a sad ending. But I digress.
I can't believe that the characters are really that young. I always thought everyone was over 19 at least. It would have been nice if you started a new game like in ToT, and you kept the same hair color and everything into adulthood. But I guess that would be too complicated for Natsume. Ugh...lazy people. |

I have to admit, as much as I love Luna I think it's pretty weird that she's only 16, and already both marriage AND mother material. I mean, maybe it's just cause we're the same age, but I just find it a tad creepy. :O

Luna's age bothered me at first . . . but then I remember that in some countries (especially a long time ago), girls are considered of marrying and mothering age when they were twelve or thirteen. Compared to that sixteen doesn't seem that bad at all. 0_o

Hmmm, well I guess so... it's just one of those things that's hard to shake. If she was my favorite bachelorette it probably wouldn't have made that much of a difference but since I was on the fence this kind of made my decision for me. I still think she's an adorable character though, and it's gonna be SUPER hard not to befriend her while I'm wooing Gill. :/

Say, I was just wondering, what's the Witch like? I mean, her personality, not gifts.
I've been hearing all about the Wizard and the Harvest God and their personalities. But nobody talks about the Witch - other than 'she's so cute' etc. So . . . what's she like? |

Its pretty much legal to get married in most countries at 16. There was a girl in my class who isn't going to college because she's getting married in November...
The Main boy's Autumn/Winter clothes annoy me. There are only boring clothes, or compleatly insane clothes. Its weird Milking a cow in a Wizard Costume, but Its boring going it in a grandad Jumper, and You cant wear Summer clothes 100% of the time because I always think he would be cold. |

But nobody talks about the Witch - other than 'she's so cute' etc. So . . . what's she like? Well, that's 'cause she's not as easy to describe. At least, from what I've seen of her scenes and the lines I've read... She's fairly certain she's high up in the hierarchy of important life forms, definitely above you (she refers to the Goddess as "Megami-chan," if that gives you an idea). Thus she demands things of you, like in the seasonal request event (she scolds you for entering her house and then demands that you give her food). She's pretty short tempered; in her real introduction scene, she's really angry at Wizard even though judging from the bits of manga on the official site (here and here) it was she who turned herself into a frog in the first place (I saw the Wizard's explanation, but from my knowledge of Japanese, I couldn't tell if it was the Witch or the Wizard who tired to help out the Goddess). Unfortunately, my knowledge of Japanese isn't very extensive, so maybe someone else can tell you what she was yelling about. I think she said something about not eating... I know she's secretly lonely, and doesn't understand why anyone would want to marry a Witch. Maybe she just wants companionship, is all. I don't know, I haven't played the game; I've just spoiled everything for myself by looking it all up. xP Anyone who's played can give you a better idea, hopefully. x_o |

I asked over at Ushi too, and people kept giving one sentence or even just the word 'Tsundere' or whatever. It was annoying because it was very uninformative. >_> At least you know some Japanese, I can't read it all. I'm lucky if I can catch a few spoken phrases here and there. -_- But at least I know the honorifics! (mostly . . .) |
