I seem to recall seeing something like that once. *thinks* It may be people from older HM games that were like them in personality, or job description. I didn't get it either.
*cough* What's Frantic Farming? |

^ It's a pathetic excuse for Harvest Moon... Kinda like Puzzle de Harvest Moon its a puzzle game... I dought anyone would buy it, even it's creators... the Puzzle games feel like they should be Mini Games piggy-backing off real games to me, like extra's.
And Too Harvest Moon's question, I think it is doughtful anyone is desended from other games. We know that EAM is a Prequil to ToT... And in both of those Elli (And Grey Repecitvaly) are still alive and in adult form, so It is set in the same time HM 64, FoMT/MFoMT, DS/Cute and IoH (Possibaly more) Becuase they all feature Elli and Grey in them, or people who have lived with Elli + Grey (Even though they are the Elli and Grey from HM 64 becuse Elli is mad about Cakes and Grey is wearing Blue overalls). Games Further back than that have allready established decendents (Nina - Popuri, Ellen - Elli, Ann - Younger Ann >_<). So that would mean Castanet, Waffle Island, Flower Bud Village, Mineral Town, Forget-Me-Not Valley and the Island are all on roughly the same time scale. Some Wii Residents do resemble older game Characters in looks and occupation (Muffy - Kathy, Celia - Renee, Docter - Jin) But that could be extreamly long distance family, or lazyness on the developers part becuase each game as a blond barmaid and Brownhaired farmgirl... Lol I decided to rant! SORRY! |

No I mean did they come from a older harvest moon game, because if u look them up it says "old ver." You mean like this: http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x126/Cr...65/char_ose.png ? Well in one of the magazine scans, there were images of all the bachelors/bachelorettes And in another there were images of some in their fall/winter outfits, and people mistook them for their "old versions" (Scans: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y230/urso...top-scan-08.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y230/urso...top-scan-07.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y230/urso...top-scan-12.jpg ) Just a misunderstanding. They aren't from any other Harvest Moon game. Yes, Frantic Farming IS a pathetic waste of time. Just hurry up and translate games that people want and will actually play. Like EAM *hint hint* (Natsume have made the Puzzle de Harvest Moon games themselves, right?) I never played MM... :l |

^Me Neither, I wanted to play it on gamecube but it was never released, and when It came out on Wii, Nintendo Offical Magazine said it was great when they played it on GC but now it is kinda boring (RISING STAR RUINED ANOTHER!).
I NEED NAME IDEAS! My Eldest Daughter (Mai was actually pregnant... I just thought she was eating too much pie lol... I wish babies did show up though lol) will be born on Spring 7. I let Mai choose the gender so it will 100% look like her and I can't think of any name T_T. I'm on Spring 3 and I'm kinda re-addicted so I don't have much time left so someone please help! |

^ MM never came out in England on GC... We finally got it on Wii (Compleatly Destroyed) last year or something, about 3 years after the US. The controls are supposed to be attrocious and extreamly hard to use, along with no girl gameplay, male only.
And I named my daughter Yayoi. (THANK YOU IDOLMASTER! lol) The child laughing voice is terrifying... like evil laughing... maybe she will be a Witch when she is older :p I am going to make her Carefree or Hyper... Most likely carefree I think... |

..... So they took out the girl gameplay?? O_o Why on Earth would they do that?.... I think it was because they had to fit in all the languages. Europe has English, Spanish, French, German, etc. At least, that's what I read somewhere, so correct me if I'm wrong, lol. |

And Yah Maggot Suit babies Giggle, Cry and Sleep. They make little giggle and crying noises, like 2 second sound clips. You can pick them up and run around town with them and show them off to the cows. Yayoi is soooo cuuuute! I have come to love her little giggles and when she cries I come running, she stops by the time I get there, but I still use the rattle to cheer her up! I LOVE MY LITTLE YAYOI! I can't take screenshots but I'll try to install Digital Camera software onto my Compooper and take a shakey Picture Of Yayoi in her Maggot suit, Weird suit with ears and when she grows up! |

I meant that because they needed to put all the different languages in the game, they had to get rid of all the girl gameplay to fit the languages (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalasmile.gif) In a dialogue-heavy game such as Harvest Moon, having to host more than one or two languages takes up a lot of space. Thus, in the US version, there is only English but it allows enough space for both boy and girl gameplay. In the European version, there are more languages, which take up more space, and they leave only enough room for the boy gameplay. |

But In the Harvest Moon games there is never a language option, each country just gets a translated version with its national language (I think). In the Most English Harvest Moon's we can't choose to have French or German... It's virtually the US game but in PAL so it will work on our consoles... So There must be free space on the disk and girl game should have enough room... I don't really know why I am arguing as I never play as a girl (To me they run strange and I Love the bride's too much!) But still.. It's an injustis! ITS THE 18th of Spring! Yayoi Should Be Crwaling Soon! |

I don't live in Europe, so I was just answering based on what I have read on other forums ;) But, if that's the case, then I don't see why they wouldn't have included the girl gameplay... I'm a girl, so I know I would have been mad if I lived in Europe and was only able to play as a boy. |

Playing as a guy wouldn't bother me (I'm a girl, too) IF it was like AWL, where the original only had the guy to begin with. But if they do do that, then why not just make two versions? All you have to do is have the girl, not the guy. O-o Sigh. So complicated.

The only reasoning I can think of that would be even remotely justifiable for excising the girl gameplay would be if they didn't think that enough girls played video games to warrant it being kept in, but it still doesn't make such sense...
Sometimes it seems that translators cut things out from foreign things just because they can. :/ Edit: ^^^ I'm the say way. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I'll play as a guy if I have no choice, but if there is a choice I prefer to play as a girl. |

If that's their reasoning (not enough girls playing), then they're dumb. The percentage of girl gamers has been increasing over the years. Seriously.

^ Especially with Harvest Moon games...
War games have a mainly male fanbase, so that is why the soldiours are rarely ever female. But Harvest Moon is a simulation, so anyone can really enjoy it... Recent ones are possibly even more aimed towards girls since Girl gameplay is in all games and girly type things like changing clothes has been added (Then it really bugs me because the girl stuff allows the developers to be more creative and then they add boy stuff and it's all boring >_<). I bet girls appricate the romance and child aspect more too (Example - The Leagions of Chiyaya fan girls) ... Saying that it is possibly my favourite part too... |
