Not much of a festival..., One last bit of help? Options

Soooo,
I attended the summer ocean festival, and ended up hanging out there all day waiting on Sue to get her butt down to the beach. I read that she sells banana pudding and chocolate covered bananas, at least one of which I need for Luke's birthday. But she never showed! Nobody did, except for Pascal, who was at his booth from the beginning, and Craig.
I'm considering resetting my game to do the day over again, and seeing if she comes.
Do you guys know why nobody came, or how to fix it?
I need those chocolate covered bananas. D;

do you have the ferry working to get to Toucan island?
because if you don't, Sue won't show.

and if you do,
A) Banana pudding is sold at the Sundae Inn. you dont even need Toucan island.
B) Chocolate bananas are sold at the Pineapple Inn on Toucan Island year round. You don't have to buy them at the ocean festival.
