Yes. I'm giving my Butterfree a yellow scarf too, even though he isn't in that contest. Made my eyes water too. I thought pokemon was gay but after playing Crystal I gave the show a chance and I watch from when he caught him until that episode. Then I stopped. Stupid shiny butterfree, she was so stupid and a jerkette.

I saw part of it.

Found the Japanese version (of the butterfree) on Youtube. It does have the words after awhile. Its alot less sad and alot more annoying in Japanese.

Well, Bye Bye Butterfree is a lot sadder but still. I remember being very sad throughout that whole episode :(

Not a big fan of the show but I have watch a couple of movies. Because the problem is brought up and solved. No "to be continued" and I probably in a pokemon game mood at the time.

That song made me sad too, but Good Pikachu and Evil PIkachu girl slapping each other....hilarious.
