Well, if any of you guys want to post pictures of yourself, feel free to. Just keep in mind the risks of what will happen.
'Nuff said!~ Anway... hm I just went to San Juan Capistrano, it was beautiful. My mom kept taking pictures of me in the garden... I may or may not show a few of the pictures, all really just depends on whether my mom puts them on the computer~ The gardens were so gorgeous! |

Posting your image on the internet can be bad, especially how chummy some people can be around here. I mean, with the map system anyone can check the location that someone put in (hence why I just put in "North Carolina"), and a number of people have let slip their first names and some have even divulged their last names. So, since my first and last names are probably floating around; if I put up my picture and had my home town up on the map, I'd be pretty easy to track down. I'm really bad at this as you can see. There's nothing wrong with a little bit of caution, especially since not only could another member keep/use that information, but so can any lurker who may happen to see it.

The trick is to be cool so that if someone tried to go to your house and murder you or something, you'd just beat them up. Possibly with household appliances and toys and a tarantula.

Yeah. I mean, I've put a couple of pictures up, but they're not linked to my name or address or anything. >.>
I don't really post pictures up anywhere else, to be honest. Even any pictures of me that end up on Facebook are put up by other people. Though I don't generally mind letting slip the city I live in (because it's enormous), I never get more specific than that and I try to keep my real name out of anything and everything. It helps that I'm so used to being called Mizuki both over the internet and in person that it practically is my name. |

Glad to know I'm not the only person who prefers to use caution. And the place I live is pretty small, so that's another reason I'd never give out my city name.

This reminds me how when I grew up, internet safety wasn't a concern. That's because most adults hadn't even experienced it. Back when I was in high school I found a really old page of a friend of mine (which he made when he was like 10 or so, that had personal info. He was quite embarrassed about it, so I tried not to share it with too many people (I guess that was a dinosaur move, but I was 15 or 16). Well it didn't kill him, because he works for Google now.

I remember I used to half hope someone would like, try to rob my house or something just so I could get them and be some sort of hero. |

Just to be safe, install Home-Alone-style traps in and around your house. Sure, you might accidentally lynch your cat or drop a brick/firebomb/poisonous spider onto the head of an unsuspecting postman, but it's worth it in case a creeper tries to track you down.
I don't feel comfortable posting my picture anywhere for basically the reasons Darth said. I've only given my MSN address (which is basically my full name) to people I can reasonably trust, but even so, I'd rather be careful. Especially since I've already said which city I live in, although any evil creeper trying to get me there would probably end up being dragged into an alleyway themselves. |

That reminds me of when I was little, I used to kinda hope that Ghoma would come and attack our house (I used to believe she lived under our house), and I'd use a slingshot to defeat her.... Has: You bring up a good point. If any creepers went wandering around my streets at night, they probably would get attacked by a gang...>-> |

He works for Google? Is it true that inside Google is like a swimming pool, some people that give you massages, an aquarium and a slide? Or something like that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) I heard it's one of the best places to work in. Lucky him! |

Lolz, you would have to ban a lot of people!
And yeah, it's true! I just searched up Google and they're even allowed to bring pets inside! They have a pool, massage chairs (and I think private massage people, forget the name for them), there is a slide, weight room, and just plain awesome interior. |

That's really a rabbit? It looks like a kitten with a rabbit head. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Oh my holy god, it does. I've only let my name come to one person on the forums, who happened to tell another (Didn't mean to, they thought they already knew), but I'd never leak it on the actually forums or I'd deny it. Hurrhurr. Luckily I haven't really given my location. Either way, who would bother to come to Australia to stalk someone? D'X ....I've been meaning to get pictures up for ages..... *Phail* |

I should ban people who post in this thread without previously posting a picture of themself and/or go terribly off topic. =O I agree. You should have to earn your right to look at other peoples photos. If you don't post your picture, you shouldn't be able to comment on other peoples'. Also, Zen, I don't see anyone begging for a picture, it's not like I think about what people look like on this forum when I leave my computer. But you guys also have to remember, this is a Harvest Moon forum, there are much easier ways to get silly little girls like go on public chats... So I figure this is a pretty safe site. |
