I know it's for competitive battling, I still think it's silly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalatounge.gif)
To be on topic, the sprite animations have grown on me. The original movement from the beta videos looked really clunky. But I've *finally* found a site that has all the animated sprites . . . and they're actually very smooth. |

Nice find, Crystal!
Honestly, I love the animation of my little ice cream dude or should I say dudes. And I like Emboar's too. He looks tough with the fire blazing around him. And Vanilluxe and Emboar are gonna be my two go to guys. (IMG:http://arkeis.com/images/animations/584.gif) (IMG:http://arkeis.com/images/animations/500.gif) |

They've renamed Aloe "Lenora" for the English games. Even my mom doesn't think she looks like a Lenora.

I liked "Aloe" better. Oh well. I like Kamitsure, the electric type gym leader. I don't like that she has two Emolgas though. =/ They are identical to each other. Couldn't they have given her that electric eel or at least a Stunkfisk or whatever?

I think I read somewhere that they're changing her name to Electra. Don't quote me on that one.

Electra?! Hahaha!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) That'd be funny. It make sense, we'll see.
EDIT: There's a Pokemon that learns a move at level 100!? That's a first, I think. It's Volcorona, by the way. |

It was Elesa. I knew it was E-L-something. Serebii has the list of gym leaders up and Elite Four up.
Dent, Corn, Pod = Cilan, Chili, Cress Arti = Burgh (Wha-? Why change that?) Kamitsure = Elesa Yakon = Clay (The cowboy. Ahaha . . .) Fuuro = Skyla (They're just makin'stuff up now.) Hachiku = Brycen (See?) Shaga & Iris = Drayden & Iris ---- Shikimi = Shauntal Giima = Grimsley (Which is hysterical. "Hey, how ya doin' Grimsley?") Renbuu = Marshal Katorea = Caitlin Adeku = Alder *** On a random note, all the gym leaders and Elite Four have plant related names in Japan. And by all of them, I mean all five generations worth. But we can't expect NoA to be so creative. =/ |

Haha, would be nice if NoA was as cool as Japan.
But I actually quite like the names, except for for Skyla, pretty much. Though I'll get used to it. Clay's is pretty funny. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) And I agree that it should have been kept "Arti" and not "Burgh." Grimsley's is also funny, haha. And Elesa is still pretty cool. |

Can you imagine going through high school with a name like 'Grimsley'? I mean, c'mon! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif)

Hahaha! Yeah, that would have been interesting. Alder's is pretty cool, but what does it reference? I know his team is a melting pot, but not sure what "Alder" is getting at.

Alder is a kind of tree or plant. They probably just went with it because it sounds somewhat similar to the Japanese name.

Hmm, that does sound like a tree. Seems familiar now....
Yeah, they kept his plant reference. Well, at least the Professors are all named after tree types. |

One must take what one can get from NoA, as pitiful as it may be sometimes.
I'm pretty sure they just changed Isshu to Unova because American audience would undoubtly go around pronouncing it "issue". =/ However, I read somewhere (Psypoke, I think) that they're pronouncing Unova "u-nuh-vuh" . . . which is just silly. |

Lolz, yeah, because it's a Japanese name and people aren't as aware of the pronunciation. And I called it "issue" for a bit when I found out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) But I like both names.
YES!! I heard that! But I'll still call it how it's spelled. |

I think I will, too. I mean, I'm already refusing to go with their pronunciation of Arceus. (They say ark-ee-us. . . . Yes, really. Even though it's clearly a soft c. Well, I think so, anyway.)

Haha! I didn't know they pronounced it that way. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lalaexdee.gif) Yeah, I think most people don't pronounce it like that.
Which translated Pokemon name do you like the least? I am not sure which one I do...I know there was one I hated. |

I don't know. Ducklett annoys me severely. =/ Deerling's growing on me . . . but it's still not great. Sawsbuck and Cofagrigus are just silly. Purrloin is okay, but really antiquated. I don't care for Liepard either, just because Leopardas is so easily carried over and much nicer sounding. Those are the ones that come immediately to mind when I think, "Don't like."
It's funny, because I was looking on Wikipedia's Bulbasaur page and Nintendo actually thinks their names are "clever and descriptive." Ahahahaha! |
