I noticed that Sims 3 was about to be released on the wii, and xbox, and ps3. I have a wii and I was thinking about buying it for my wii, but I was thinking maybe it would be better to buy on pc? I was wondering if someone could give me their opinion if its better to buy for PC or wait til its released on the wii?

PC always every time for anything. So long as your PC can run it, anyway.

I'd agree with Darth if the Sims 3 wasn't thoroughly unenjoyable no matter what the platform.

But yeah, if you're dead set on having it for something, choose PC. Sims games just don't mesh well with consoles.

I was disappointed when I bought Sims: Deluxe for the laptop to see no story plot. That was one of the things that kept me playing the game for more than only a few days, only to be picked up years later. *Isn't that much of a Sims fan*

But I'd defianetly still go with the PC. It's much bigger storage. And your house doesn't go on fire if you have too much furniture. >3>;

I liked Sims 2 too, I like it on console cause the controls are easier for me. By the way how do you control your sim on the computer, I've never played a pc version of the sims yet, so I'll guess it will be interesting to try and see how it works out.

Plus since Sims 3 is coming on the wii right as Rune Factory is being released that would have created major money problems. Buying it now on the PC should give me enough time to work up more cash to buy RF3.

On the PC, you control your Sims with the the overhead, cursor thing. Do you know how they did it in older games? Or even in the new console ones, where you switch how to control your character? You could have a quick look on youtube.

I've tried Sims 3 and I just prefer Sims 2 on the PC they look like Clay-do people. I've decided that I'll give the console version a try. I can't give up on the series I've been playing on the PC since the Sims came out.

Honestly, I felt the same way for a long time, Rika. I bought the Sims 3 on PC because I had been playing the Sims for nearly a decade by that time, and gave it chance after chance to try and impress me once I got over just how much better the Sims and the Sims 2 were, but no matter how many times I booted it up, no matter how many different angles I took to try and enjoy it, I could never manage to have fun.

To me, the Sims 3 was an utter failure as a game. They added some interesting aspects, to be certain, but a lot of those interesting aspects were so time-consuming that by the time you were done with them, you were so bored to ###### tears that actually playing the game became a chore you didn't want to even bother with.

They added a lot of pre-made customization options, which were time-consuming as all helk to properly implement, but cut down on your ability to make CUSTOM customizations. The graphics were far less customizable than previous games had been, and were just plain ugly. The people all looked like they'd been in space for a few years and had suffered a bit of bone loss and bloating. The fact that you could only have one active household in a ###### neighborhood was a detriment to gameplay rather than a boon. And you know what else? The music ###### SUCKED. I had to mute the ###### in order to get through even a single minute of gameplay. The moodlets feature was garbage and didn't even work right, and the personality system, while somewhat interesting, was just as constricting as the old personality system had been. Now, if they had kept the old personality system and then added the new one on top of the old one to give your character not only a base personality, but quirks too, it would've been much better. But they didn't. Instead of having a personality, your character now has nothing but quirks. Lame.

I just can't waste the money on a console version, hoping that they'll have fixed what was wrong with the PC version. (Which, if you did not get it, was everything.) I'd much rather just go back and play the Sims 2 whenever the mood strikes me. I can come up with the same basic scenarios for the sims I can create in that game just as easily as I could come up with scenarios for the sims I can create in the new game.

Until they come out with something that doesn't suck, I see no reason to move on.

I got the Sims 3 for the PS3 on sale and the first family I made glitched. I got the girl married she was at the top of her career and she went to the hospital to have her baby and when her and her husband came back the baby wasn't there and I couldn't click to change between Sims any more. I've tried reloading it and nothing works. So I had to make a whole other family and try all over again. I makes me miss Sims 2 even more now I just don't want to heat up my room playing it on that old Gateway.
